7721  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun freedom advocates - what weapons shouldn't be legally available? on: January 14, 2013, 04:57:39 PM
It may be hard for non-Americans to understand, but here the idea of an authority carrying a gun telling you you can't have a gun is antithetical. Cops are more likely than CCW holders to kill someone illegally or accidentally. So why should I be required to depend on them? I am from a LEO family and I know for a fact that I know more about guns and gun safety than most cops.

Why should my rights be limited because of the actions of a few truly insane people?  Go after them, not me. This "blaming the gun" stuff is childish.  Or should we start arresting guns and letting psychopaths go free?
7722  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun freedom advocates - what weapons shouldn't be legally available? on: January 11, 2013, 09:32:55 PM
I think we should be able to have any small arms (small arms are .50cal or less). That includes full autos. However, I support full liability for anyone who wants to have one. If you shoot your gun and the bullet goes wild, hitting someone on accident, you go to jail. (no matter how rich you are)
7723  Economy / Speculation / Re: my intuition says: we're sitting on a rocket about to be ignited on: January 11, 2013, 02:39:32 PM
molecular , you were basically right. The amount BTC has increased since your first post would be considered a big rally, if it was anything other than bitcoin.
7724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ubuntu for smartphones explode Bitcoin? on: January 11, 2013, 02:35:46 PM
So, the consensus is NO. lol

I was thinking of the issue of trust. I mostly trust open source software much more than proprietary stuff.  I'm still getting one!
7725  Other / Off-topic / Re: US Urged to Mint 'Trillion Dollar Platinum Coin' on: January 04, 2013, 03:47:00 PM
Well, that would certainly solve all Debt Problems  Roll Eyes

Hahah.  Cheesy
7726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will Ubuntu for smartphones explode Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2013, 03:38:12 PM
I just saw the announcement about Ubuntu 2013 for smartphones. It is epic and I'm pee-in-my-pants excited to get one! There is also a real Bitcoin connection here. We should make a push to keep as many bitcoin app options available in the repositories as we can. It would be easy and *secure to use BTC on a native Linux phone, and being open source it could expose many new people to the currency.

Announcement:

Phone features:  Shocked

What would a killer bittcoin app for Ubuntu phone have?
7727  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Morocco anyone ? on: December 24, 2012, 02:49:37 PM
Redirecting this thread. I also am looking for bitcoin peers in Morocco. Anyone in the Marrakech or Casablanca area?

If you guys who are afraid want to curl up in a fetal ball and suck your thumb while a maniac shoots you to death, feel free. But don't go making rules for those of us who know better.
I think I'll stop talking and start taking action. I just now joined the NRA for the first time.
7729  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If society was an organism... on: December 19, 2012, 07:01:17 PM
Aren't cancers generally caused by "freedom loving" cells that decide "TO HELL with my neighbours, the authoritarian government, and the laa-dee-daa community! This is my turf and I'm going to homestead this place and build whatever the hell I want!" ?? Cheesy

Always those free radicals!  Angry

In government each person seems reasonably smart on their own

wha?

but together they are disastrously stupid

well they do create order somewhat. Though the average life span of many a state is also quite similar to that of a human organism.

I was thinking of something more like this classic. (updated)

I thought this thread said "Orgasm".  Shocked

I am not sure about the comparison with brain matter. In a brain each cell is stupid, but working together intelligence emerges. In government each person seems reasonably smart on their own, but together they are disastrously stupid.

myrkul, your forgetting the statistics about Americans and math.

They can't cypher them percent numbers.   Sad

And it is far more professional than any of the three networks.

Cheesy I'm sure it may seem professional to you guys who are used to the crap like Fox News and MSNBC but you'll get tired of the stupid puns and blatant nationalist propaganda soon enough.
Ah, your in the UK? You see the whole BBC, crap and good. The world service is so much better than network (abc, nbc, cbs) news that they are not really comparable. Fox, CNN and MSNBC should not even be considered "news".

BBC World service

LOL Smiley
Ok, it is official government TV. But their distant prospective is often far more insightful than our native news. And it is far more professional than any of the three networks. Network news is pre-packaged stories produced by big pharma companies, stories about pop culture, guys standing in the rain to tell you about storms,  "experts" on the topic de jure who were life-coaches six months ago. It's all nonsense. Without the foreign media, I would not know what's happening in my country.
7734  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Adam Kokesh Legalizes marijuana in Philadelphia on: December 19, 2012, 02:52:50 PM
I am now federally legalizing MJ.  Cool

If a cop hassles you, just tell them RodeoX said it was cool.
7735  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I think I'm actually going to boycott mainstream televised news on: December 19, 2012, 02:45:30 PM
There are a few legitimate news sources left. Don't forget "The News Hour", "Frontline", and "BBC World service". They can all be found on TV and do contain actual news.

7738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 22 Kids Stabbed At School In China on: December 18, 2012, 09:28:47 PM
It depends on the home and its location. Homes isolated from others are easier targets. Such homes are also, inexplicably owned by the people who leave their doors unlocked. And when someone does come in, the gun is only useful if it's in your hand before encountering the intruder.  And the handily available gun is the one the children find. It's also the gun the intruder finds, for his next foray.
Agreed. And I do lock my doors. I also keep my guns locked up while I'm gone. I don't think it would stop a determined thief from stealing them, so they are also well hidden. The only time they are out of the safe is when I'm wearing it or it's on the nightstand. This does concern me however.

"Central command, we have a unit thinking on his own. Someone named Rudd-O. Shall I call the truck?"  Cheesy

They better bring the cattle prods :-)

They will, it does wonders encouraging people to take their pills. When you wake up you wont have a care (or thought) in the world.
