7641  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should i allocate 100% of my savings to bitcoin ? on: February 04, 2013, 08:59:46 PM
No. think eggs and baskets.
7642  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we touch $24 this week? on: February 04, 2013, 08:58:33 PM
I'm hoping things cool off a little. Steady long term growth is a more positive signal for me.
7643  Economy / Economics / Re: How could wages in Bitcoin work? on: February 04, 2013, 08:30:34 PM
One could envision new ways of paying wages in bitcoin. You could pay pickers by the bushel. Every time they dump a new load, their wallet is sent an amount. This could work for all sorts of projects in an automated way. Forget being paid "by the hour". Why not "by the ...??"
7644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin succeeds... what will be the greatest contributing factor? on: February 04, 2013, 08:22:55 PM
It's transparent nature, which does not need trust to operate.
7645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi, anyone do this? on: February 04, 2013, 07:49:58 PM
Although it does require some reading, I would not rule out bitinstant.com as an option. You will need to set up an Mt.Gox account, but you could then fund it and have your bitcoin right away.
Some fees, but not crippling like a credit card.
7646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell Iran customers to get Bitcoin to pay the bill? on: February 04, 2013, 07:42:47 PM
Iran evades sanctions by trading oil for gold in Turkey then smuggling it to places like Dubai. No one wants Iranian Rial, but if they could pay in gold then I'm sure they could find someone to sell them bitcoins.

Looks good man! Thanks for your contribution to the community.   Kiss
7648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not give Bitcoin a helping hand? on: February 04, 2013, 07:09:04 PM
@Franky1  Yes, I agree completely. The food service industry would be most desirable for certain.  It would be fantastic exposure.

more food for thought... Cheesy

I haven't thought about that much, but fast food is a good candidate. I should not have to share my credit card info to get a hamburger. Also the risk is mitigated by the smallness of the transactions. What is still needed is a little infrastructure. Someone here was looking into modifying the standard credit card machines to read and use bitcoin addresses from bitcoin based debit cards. Apparently this is not as hard as it seems.
7649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What items, not readily available, would you like to see offered for Bitcoin? on: February 04, 2013, 06:35:13 PM
-Hookers
-Diapers
-Cigs
WTF do you have in mind?  Cry

Real estate. I want 40 or more acres of wilderness...
How about a resort on the Pike Chain, south of Iron River, Wisconsin? ...
That would be cool, but it's just more than I have. As far as buying a small island; well, I worry that in 20 years it will be in the surf.
7650  Economy / Goods / Re: Come in and Trade Ammo or Talk about Guns! on: February 04, 2013, 06:31:38 PM
WTB any of the following...

CCI Small Pistol Primers #500

Remington 6 1/2 Primers

Accurate 1680 Powder

Hodgdons LILGUN Powder
Are you having trouble finding reloading supplies also? It seems to be drying up here in Wisconsin.
7651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not give Bitcoin a helping hand? on: February 01, 2013, 09:21:32 PM
You go bro!
Some of us have been doing that for a while now. Last year I got a chance to blow some minds by speaking to the Booth School of business, at their innovation roundtable. They are a top tier school for the banking industry.
I think this is the way bitcoin is spreading.
7652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real estate and bitcoins on: February 01, 2013, 07:00:39 PM
I want to buy a house one day with bitcoins. Do you think it will ever be possible? Would one need to have the entire amount in bitcoins before they could buy it you think?

I know of a condo in Belize you can buy in Bitcoins.  3 bedroom, 3 bath. Terrific views of the Caribbean.
Tell me more I used to live in Belize. It is one of my favorite places ever. What district / island?
7653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What items, not readily available, would you like to see offered for Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2013, 06:58:45 PM
Real estate. I want 40 or more acres of wilderness. Preferably in the north woods of Wisconsin. I will pay with $ if I have to, but paying in BTC would be the bomb.
7654  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin WILL reach $8USD sometime in the next year (by 01/01/14) on: February 01, 2013, 05:45:03 PM
So, your predicting a drop in value to $8? I don't know if your right or wrong, but I assume you can't predict the future either. What indicators are you looking at?
Cheers,
7655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help posting on: February 01, 2013, 04:56:46 PM
Welcome Tim,
Like many others here, I'm willing to help. If you have any questions feel free to PM me and I will make up a bunch of "facts".  Cheesy
Just kidding I will answer to the best of my abilities.
Cheers
7656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Profitability of mining? on: February 01, 2013, 04:52:50 PM
The phases of mining started with CPU mining. In the beginning the client could also mine. You just start it up and hope. Next came GPU mining on video cards. This is a much more powerful way to mine. As more people got into mining using a GPU pool helped to be more profitable. Now with ASIC miners, one must buy special equipment made just for BTC mining if you want to be profitable.
7657  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This 51% numbers kills everything! on: February 01, 2013, 04:39:32 PM
The thing i keep in mine is motive. Who would spend huge sums of money to destroy the value of the bitcoins they are forging? It is not rational as it would cost money and produce little/nothing for the attacker.
7658  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we call this guy the most ignorant guy on earth? on: January 31, 2013, 09:21:06 PM
I'm glad I didn't take his advice.  Roll Eyes
7659  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $30 again on: January 31, 2013, 09:16:45 PM
Agreed.  Ok, $20. But $30... Impossible!
7660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $20 again on: January 31, 2013, 04:22:07 PM
Demand......................................................................... .....................Supply

That is all it takes.
