Back on my fan pb, I can't force a RPM. It keep going up and down idk why. I set temp target to 50, it's now 52° and fan are decreasing speed.

raaaaaah Roll Eyes

Some numbers seems to be reversed. Try higher target instead of lower.

It's like i can't force cgminer to a fix % fan. I set the temp target at 60 but same problem, it starts hashing with fans at 2600rpm, with --avalon-fan 50 and go down to 2150 and 2060 and 1980 etc etc etc, then stop.

and now its stopped

I finally got it hashing idk how.

one question tho.

fan starts at 100% then cgminer loads; the fan speed decrease and then it goes to 20% i think, but temp is 70°+; is it normal ? I assume it's not since i setup the temp overheat @ 70.

Any help ?

 Grin

Its because you set the fan speed at 20%. Remove --avalon-fan 20 from "More Options".

I have nothing @more options.

Try --avalon-fan 20-100.
Target temp: 60
Overheat: 70

Fans are working for some time, then they stop. It works again when i stop and relaunch.

Any ideas ?

I put --avalon-fan 20-100 @more options and temp was great at 2600rpm. (46°)

I just can't use them at 100% forever as i'm in a small flat.

Fuck. It seems that it fails when I plug another device on the same electrical outlet. I'm a shitty electrician, so should I ask one to come and see ? I have 10 scrypt miner in the other room; so it's maybe time to check it.

edit : fans are stopping after some time, 1hour or 10mn, it depend. Both PSU's are working fine. they take about 460w each even when fan are stopped (they use a little less)

What should I ask ? I have 9Kw available in my flat, 6kw are for the scrypt miner, and 1 to the btmine in another room. Can I use my wallplugs or do I need new one ? I'm not fluent in english so my electric vocabulary is really poor sorry ^^

I'm not that rich as I put all my money into mining so I want to avoid spending more $ but enough to be safe...

If anyone have good tips for a noob I would appreciate.

btw what r the max safe temp for those chips ? Is there a way to cut the miner if it's too hot ? because I had to stop it by unpluggin it since it were going over 70°.

Has anyone had any success overclocking in increments smaller than 100?  For example, 1410?  I don't want to jump to 1500 right away since people are reporting blown SMD fuses at 1500.  I've tried 1410, but it doesn't seem like that and only hashes 8-10 GH/s total or so...

twib2, where are you downloading firmware images from?

Different topic:

I wait I wait, nothing happens.

Could someone upload a backup of a working machine ?

I think it will solve that sh***...

I've noticed that cgminer won't start if you don't have any valid pools specified.  For example, I mistakenly entered stratum+tcp://mining.bitcoin.cz:3333 instead of stratum+tcp://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333, and the cgminer API log would keep getting stuck on "Socket connect failed: Connection refused" until I figured it out.  "Socket connect failed: Connection refused" just means that cgminer isn't starting properly.  If all else fails, try the reset button on the TP-link board, or there is also a factory reset option in the UI, which I think resets the IP to 192.168.0.100, and you'll have to re-enter the chip frequency, chip count, etc.  If you still really really need a configuration backup of a working machine, PM me (not sharing publicly since the configuration backup has my worker info).

If you're running into problems because you want to get wifi working, you're on your own.  I'd recommend sticking to hardwired for now.

it's a firmware pb I have not your AVALON CHIP in my list.

Please send me a working backup.

Is it connected to internet? Try "Network" -> "Diagnostics" -> "Ping".
If its connected, double check the pool info. Don't leave the password blank even if the pool doesnt require password.

PING openwrt.org (78.24.191.177): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 78.24.191.177: seq=0 ttl=44 time=103.630 ms
64 bytes from 78.24.191.177: seq=1 ttl=44 time=103.390 ms
64 bytes from 78.24.191.177: seq=2 ttl=44 time=100.186 ms
64 bytes from 78.24.191.177: seq=3 ttl=44 time=103.919 ms
64 bytes from 78.24.191.177: seq=4 ttl=44 time=108.180 ms

--- openwrt.org ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 100.186/103.861/108.180 ms

pool config seems ok.

do I have to open some ports on my router ?

I'm now connected trhough wifi, and I can "apply change" without the forever wheel ^^

but cgminer status is still

[Firmware Version] => 20130821
cgminer-70bc62c
luci-d854edc+
cgminer-openwrt-packages-800cc58
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

and here is my log

I could tip .1btc if someone would like to fix that through teamviewer.

I would give more but I spent all my btc's in that rig  Roll Eyes

so I am stuck with a bad setup for my wifi connection. I can access the interface without problem, but I can't apply change to cgminer.

I've got

Applying changes
Loading /etc/config/cgminer

with the wheel rolling forever...

Is that a port problem ? can anyone help ? Someone was talking about a teamviewer help, that'd be super cool Smiley

That will keep rolling forever if you setup pool server for CGminer and dont have working internet connection settings.
working Gateway
working DNS

cgminer will try to connect  the pool but fails and wont startup.

you have to powercycle the unit, check you internet connection settings then try cgminer setup again. if yo u get that wheel rolling forever again your internet connection settings fail.
---> Fix internet first.

I just reboot and i have no more access to the interface, like yesterday.

I tried to reset it again, but it's not working anymore. I have to hold reset for how long ? and I have to press it before turning the rig on right ?

I'm so tired of that shit ;(

someone knows how to mine by pluggin the usb to my laptop  ? Version of cgminer / .bat to use ?

i pm'd btmine, if they can ship the defective part and I can mine connected to a computer I'll be happy.

Are you sure it's not your PSU? I had the same screen issue when I tried to run it from a blown PSU. The intro screen popped up and then went dead. Does the loud fan come on?

If the FPGA module is not working, use a laptop and control it with cgminer via USB. cgminer 3.9.0 should work fine.

yes the fan are ultra loud 80 or 100% i'd say.

ok i'll check this tomorrow and i'll ask another module.

thanks.

first, thanks everybody for help.

I found the reset button and it worked. I can now access the interface ! 18 hours later finally.

So I setup the wifi, that's currently working fine on a new ip.

Now my problem is :

[Firmware Version] => 20130821
cgminer-70bc62c
luci-d854edc+
cgminer-openwrt-packages-800cc58
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

any ideas ?

in the browser i see

LuCI - Lua Configuration Interface

then

problem, can't reach page 192.168.0.55. (or sth like that i have a french version)

It seems as a defective firmware then no ? I can see every piece. the blades can connect the laptop, and the laptop sees the wifi and eth connection from the miner.

any reboot button ? or a way to flash firmware from a computer ?

720  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 21, 2014, 10:56:22 PM
I really think it's an hardware error (or firmware ?)

can i try mining directly from cgminer on my laptop ? if the blades ar hashing, and the unit controlling it dead I assume I can ask btmine another, it would be easier than shipping the entire machine.

what .Conf or .bat should I make, with which version of cgminer ?
