701  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm terrified, I lost all my savings in mtgox. on: June 17, 2012, 09:52:17 PM
June 1 made a withdraw (international wire transfer) amount to nearly $ 9000.
So far, not received this amount at all, nor any response from mtgox on my query.

I am a teacher, I invested all my legal savings + a small% mined BTC on mtgox exchange.
Why I have no information when I get my last transfer?
Is it so hard to at least answer the simple question?

I do not know what to do. Mtgox not respond to my letters.

Panda Mouse.

Didn't anyone ever teach you not to place all your eggs in one basket??

even my measly $340 can't be paid by mtgox, so i think your fucked.

They got a cheap 8.5 grams of cocaine with that money, you aren't getting it back.

Ignore these idiots.  C'mon guys, there's no need to keep him from sleeping at night.

Dwolla is a PITA and has screwed over MtGox again.  You'll get your funds eventually, but they are really backed up.

Yes, you will get your funds it is just a matter of time, WE ARE WORKING ON IT!

By working on it, that means keeping the ponzi scheme going?

Of course if the bfl Asic became too much of a problem one could modify bitcoin protocol just enough so that the ASIC doesn't work or is severely hampered. They are very specific. A fpga can be reprogrammed. An ASIC would be nothing more than a coffee warmer then, literally.
703  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: how does one know that the local mining is working on: June 16, 2012, 11:12:18 PM
At 1gh locally it may be wait a few months or a year.

Your best bet is to use p2pool if you want to "solo" or pick a smaller PPS pool that is unlikely to get hit by a ddos.
704  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [.3 BTC Bounty]Quadfire 7970 rig problem [Video] on: June 16, 2012, 04:13:00 AM
Are you running the newest bios?

Are you overclocking? Pci express bus locked etc?

Dump your bios to load setup defaults and see what happens?
705  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Franken5970 on: June 16, 2012, 02:46:04 AM
I'll offer 5btc. Just parts value really.
706  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [.3 BTC Bounty]Quadfire 7970 rig problem [Video] on: June 16, 2012, 02:35:44 AM
What driver versions? Did you try older drivers? 12.1 is the most stable for me.

12.6 beta specifically mentions a cod fix for a hang for 7900 cards in crossfire. Start there?

707  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 16, 2012, 02:29:42 AM
I really hate to say it, but I'm not going to give it much longer.

Last couple of days have been pretty good for p2pool I think.

Toby.

And.... you killed it.
OMFG.... not AGAIN!

Lol. Happens everytime.

It's like breaking a mirror 7 more days of bad luck :p
708  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Project X] PPS Mining Club: Higher Mining Rewards - REGISTRATION OPEN *Read OP* on: June 16, 2012, 01:56:46 AM
Rejects are insignificant compared to the downtime.

Yesterday was a good day, today was kinda sucky. Lots of pools got ddos'd over the last few days killing hash rates and uptime.
709  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.org blocked by a domain filtering list? on: June 16, 2012, 12:17:06 AM
Just more fallout from bot nets probably. now anything that mentions bitcoin is gonna be blocked or marked as a virus/malicious.

If you are using public wifi, you should be using a VPN anyways.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: low transaction fees, I don't think so on: June 15, 2012, 08:22:00 PM
It's a free market. If you want something cheaper, do it yourself and take their business.

If you want 0% transaction fees, mine them into your own blocks.
711  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 15, 2012, 12:43:08 PM
It's not being rushed[..]

Some very important optimization changes have been made! It could reduce the block orphan rate from current 5%-15% to <1% (ideally).

https://github.com/forrestv/p2pool/commits/master

Everyone, please go update NOW!

Devs, please force this upgrade by splitting the chain, people will not update voluntarily Sad

If this is not rushing, I don't know what is..

The last time a "forced change" and a fork happened, p2pool lost a third of it's hashes and they never returned. There's still 10% running the old version getting forked out there.

Worse when the force was implemented it kicked everyone out until a fixed version was updated and forced out again.

Forks are bad. Forced updates are bad. Rushing is very bad.

Pool is down again Sad
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: iPhone wallet, get it now, tomorrow might be too late on: June 15, 2012, 02:34:15 AM
Why would apple ban it?
714  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How intense is the network traffic when mining? on: June 14, 2012, 09:49:34 PM
It's minimal. I've mined by tethering my cellphone during an outage and with 10gh it was only 20mb a day.
715  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins (Update: PayPal exhausted, Dwolla low - a record day) on: June 14, 2012, 08:39:10 PM
How about adding amazon payments?

We will consider it if there is enough demand.  Any advantages of AP over PayPal or Dwolla?
Anyone wishing payout through Amazon Payments make your voices heard.  Send us a Private Message or email.

The main advantage is amazon doesn't charge fees to send or receive at all, and for personal accounts, no fees for credit card charges under $1000 per month. Oh, and it's not PayPal;)

718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bragging rights! Who has the highest BTC balance? on: June 14, 2012, 12:47:59 AM
If I combined all of my active wallets I'd have several hundred coins. I have an offline wallet that has 6000.
I have actually considered cashing it in. Then bitcoin value goes up. I built myself a new pc with a few hundred when BTC Broke $5.
719  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to trade 35 BTC for you to purchase me something (requires PayPal) on: June 14, 2012, 12:30:16 AM
Try spendbitcoins.com. You can do a payment to PayPal, or the "anything" option and post the links. Then it's truly "yours"

I'd do, it but I would charge more than 35 coins.

The only thing I ever found worth reloading was my .50 beowulf.  even brass is on perpetual backorder.

I have reloading kits and supplies and such, but I only have it in case I have to.
