701  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Information Request]Someone tried to login into my blockchain wallet on: February 18, 2016, 11:10:17 AM
I am wondering why are everyone not using Blockchain's Chrome extension app and not enabling more layers of security when they have such options available?

Try to add 2 factor with your email so whenever you send payments you will have to verify from your email. Also increase PBKDF2 Iterations to 20000 which will stretch your password to an extreme level.

Add a second password which must not be same as your login password and must be a harder one to brute force.
But do not set that password hint since anyone will get that hint if they knows the wallet identifier.

Block all TOR IP addresses by clicking that check-box and whitelist your IP for better protection. If possible try to restrict access to your whitelisted IP addresses only but you will not be able to open your wallet at all if you have a dynamic IP so be careful to check with your ISP for possible dynamic IPs before enabling this option.

I have taken all these secure measures and now my wallet is having 4 layers of security: Primary password + Secondary password + Email authentication + Block TOR IPs. I invite all the professional hackers to hack my wallet Cool
Chrome extention : No. I am using mobile most of the times. Also yes, these passwords can be used but it then kinda mixed up. Anyways what you said is correct for improving security. Thanks.

I remember buying bitcoin for almost at $200/BTC rate when they were approx. 250$ in the market rate. It was just that I had met a local seller who didn't quite believe that bitcoin can be exchanged for "real" money. The ones who bought it for 1$ were the luckiest.

704  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetBTC - Bitcoin Sports Betting | More Sports | Instant Payments | Like Betfair on: February 17, 2016, 08:41:46 PM
Today after long time I am on this site but still parlays and multibets are not working when you are going to add them because currently most of peoples love to play these bets

Although we never excluded the chance of implementing parlays on betbtc, you have to understand that integrating such thing on a betting exchange will be a completelly new thing.

You need to understand that all bets are placed on a user vs user basis and it's really not simple to develop a system like this on a betting exchange.

Look at betfair, smarkets or betdaq, no one provides a feature like that yet. If we haven't implemented it after all this time believe me.. it's because it's really not as simple as you're thinking
Can paralays be places in case if we are placing a bet against the same people? Suppose in match "A" I put a bet against "tom" then there could be an option to convert my bet to paralay by adding bet in match "B" against Tom? can this logically happen?
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: online wallets vs usbs on: February 17, 2016, 07:42:05 AM
Hey guys. I have been wondering what is the better option an online wallets or a usb storage. what are the pro and cons of each. And which one is used more common. Also which one do you guys prefer to use.
I guess by usb wallets you are referring to all offline wallets. They both have their pros and cons. The more safe is certainly the offline ones, but they don't give you access from everywhere. You need to carry your usb or whatever wherever you go, but online wallets give you an option to get access to your funds from whereever you want.

And if you get one account banned, can you use other created earlier, or buy new one
or this can be considered as ban evasion?
It's not just your account that gets banned, you as a person are banned from using the forum.
If you create another account or continue to visit from your already active alts, aswell as if you buy an account,
that indeed is considered ban evasion, and usually results in a longer ban for both, your main account and the account you used to evade the ban.
The person can still visit the forum if he wishes. Also, he can visit the forum with the banned account or any other alt, but its just that he cannot post using thay account. He can only post in Meta section, and that wouldn't count as ban evasion.

Guys, do purchasing stuffs from newegg and amazon.com through bitcoins will be illegal or legal?
I guess Delhi Poilice wont catch you for these transactions till you are involved in some kind of fraud or something. I will still continue to use bitcoin as a mode of payment regardless of whatever is happening.

I guess you are asking about if you can sell a Bitcointalk account?
Yes, this is true. Accounts can be sold. And yes, after a few years(if you keep posting) your account will be worth more than 0.5BTC maybe.
Yes, the emails can be changed.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 15, 2016, 06:30:16 AM
BTW, who do you guys predict to win the ICC World Twenty20 ?

India seems to be on the top of the list currently because of their recent good performance against AUS and SL and because they were the winners last year too iirc.

SA will win this ICC T20 world cup.
All of us. Everyone of us have always wanted RSA to win the cup, but they never have stood upto their potential.
They have been in a miserable form for quite some time now. I don't expect them to be even coming close to winning the cup. It is going to be India all the way.

But not every one is a  part time  worker  or a  student. and many do have  bitcoin transactions  over  2 lakh. They, need to keep records and pay tax properly.

Ah well fuck indian gov i'm not going to pay any tax.

Can this get Pankaj into further troubles?

Also, I don't know why mods deleted the above post of escrow.ms from the "Pay your tax" thread. Any answer for this Benson?

Well, if it was deleted after you quoted it, it must have been done by a global mod. Escrow.ms hasn't been online since 7-Feb-16.
His current problems relate more to money laundering than to tax evasion.
I almost forgot that the user himself could have deleted that post.
And no, the post was deleted before I had quoted it.

717  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: [Warning] - Pankaj Bhardwaj alias escrow.ms has been arrested - DON'T ESCROW HIM on: February 14, 2016, 04:55:40 PM
its good to see coinsecure clearing their face with the culprit, was wondering why these methods were not applied for a long time  Grin used to hear these kind of news in the UK two or three years back    Smiley
what does coinsecure has to do with this ?

Just read this : https://coinsecure.tumblr.com/post/139031335450/a-change-in-coinsecure
Pankaj had been affiliated to CS in some ways(though coinsecure wasn't involved in this case at all), but its just that Pankaj was a part of the team.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 14, 2016, 04:41:31 PM
IND v SL (T20 match) -> SL 're all out at 82 runs. This' their lowest T20 total in the history ever seen, I'd guess. SL 'd really miss their legends (Sangakkara & Jayawardane) today. Anyway, this'd(is) be an one sided match(for IND), I'd say.
I wish this would have been a more close match(close match= better odds). But like the other two matches this was completely one sided. What are you guys expecting in the T20 world cup? The cup is pretty near, and I'll choose Indian will be winning this one and they will be given a tough chase by the Australians.
719  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Information Request]Someone tried to login into my blockchain wallet on: February 14, 2016, 12:57:23 PM
Okay great! Now everyone is being targeted(relieved to hear that I wasn't the only one being targeted). Blockchain guys should do something about it. They need to somehow stop the guys from brute forcing usernames, why can't they have some captchas if a users is acting in a fishy manner?
