It's called a free market Cheesy
7342  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Open letter to Theymos regarding Butterfly Labs (BFL) on: June 07, 2013, 08:11:54 AM
It's not the moderators fault people are stupid enough to pre-order this stuff in the first place despite knowing their history, this complaint would be like if a group got together about weight loss advertisements on piratebay and demanded the advertisements got taken down because they didn't work and were a scam. You can't protect people from their own stupidity, governments have been trying that for years and no amount of warning stickers, tags and censorship ( which is what you're advocating ) will stop stupid people from doing stupid things.

Stop blaming the moderators for other peoples stupidity, I think the only one who was doing anything useful about this situation was that guy who was actively advertising and warning people about BFL ( Was it TradeFortress? Can't remember ) that's a better spend of time than trying to force the moderators to remove a source of income that won't really affect much in the first place beyond their own wallets. People just need to shut the fuck up and admit there are stupid people out there who don't know any better and they're going to pay for it no matter what we do, I call it Darwinism.
7343  Other / Off-topic / Re: [WAR] Fuck the cunt mods, fuck the owners of this board on: June 07, 2013, 08:00:19 AM
LOL In other forums mods certainly do sanction trolling, the problem is here you have a handy ignore function so you don't have to put up with that kind of bullshit so the accusation doesn't really make much sense, I agree it happens all the time on other forums though which is why I don't bother frequenting them anymore, if people want to have a discussion now they do it by my rules or they get erased off my web browser.
7344  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would more women use bitcoin if... on: June 07, 2013, 07:54:07 AM
The passive-aggressive sexism of some of members here isn't going to help for sure Tongue
7345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about those who got Wealthy ... on: June 06, 2013, 10:40:08 PM
Well here are my two theories on this, Bitcoin is very anonymous, so that means that the media's stalker attitudes won't work on these people if they do get wealthy from Bitcoin I've been thinking about this myself and I'm staggered at how easy it would be to transfer lots of money with Bitcoin quietly. You also have the fact that for months now most media and their masters have been desperately trying to pass off Bitcoin as a scam/ponzi scheme/something that makes you lose lots of money, so if they went around suddenly talking about how people are getting filthy rich from it then people are going to think twice even more about believing what they say.
7346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I would like to buy a few bitgems on: June 06, 2013, 11:05:36 AM
With such a small amount of money no price rise or anything is going to make much different when it comes to investment and speculation I've learned you need about £500 - $700 ( Rough estimate ) worth of whatever you're buying if you actually want to make money, that's just the way trading works. You need the volume and you also need the volatility or the price rise in whatever you're investing in to make any real money. I don't think you're stupid but I do think you need to do some proper research into how trading and speculation works before you go throwing money at it.

There's a reason why all the top brokers usually have a minimum amount you need to open an account with them.
7347  Other / Off-topic / Re: How did the U.S. government shut down Liberty Reserve? on: June 05, 2013, 06:44:46 AM
It depends, they could either attack it remotely using the same techniques hackers use, or they could just trace where the server is and storm the building, they've used the second tactic a number of times on filesharers despite them being in international territory. Very rarely do the Americans in particular respect a country's sovereignty, they'll usually either threaten, bribe or negotiate their way in but if it comes to it they'll just go ahead and invade the place without giving a damn.

Everyone hates them for a reason, there's also a reason behind why people call them out on them thinking they are the police of the world, you can't just randomly raid peoples houses and not expect to get backlash and the same goes for raiding other countries.
7348  Other / Off-topic / What types of servers or equipment does online gaming use? on: June 04, 2013, 09:07:41 PM
As someone who's been wanting to make games for years, now I'm learning programming I've started getting curious about networks and particularly the big MMORPGs, I'm glancing around occasionally but I was wondering if anyone here knew exactly what sort of hardware MMORPG companies in particular hosted their games on? Would it be something like a Virtual Private Server? Or do you need something far more specialised depending on the game, I'm thinking in terms of something like Planetside 2 with the scale.
7349  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you had a military at your finger tips... What would you do with its might? on: June 04, 2013, 05:58:55 PM
I'd imprison central bankers and blow up their buildings.

You can do that now. What's stopping you?

lolz anyone could imprison them but it wouldn't last very long Tongue that's why you'd need a military.
7350  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you had the bitcoin, would buy yourself a megayacht? on: June 04, 2013, 05:56:22 PM
I don't know about a Yacht even though they do look nice some of them but certainly I'd like a private jet Cheesy especially if I could get cute flight attendants lolololol Tongue
7351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you had a military at your finger tips... What would you do with its might? on: June 04, 2013, 05:06:50 PM
I'd imprison central bankers and blow up their buildings.

7353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: *UK Bitcoin swap meet* on: June 04, 2013, 04:37:52 PM
Be careful about organising something like this and particularly be careful about it being for Bitcoin, we still haven't heard much of what the UK governments position is on Bitcoin. Generally though I like the idea! Cheesy
7354  Other / Off-topic / Re: Capitalism (continued from How do you deal with the thought about taxes) on: June 04, 2013, 02:19:46 PM
Taxes are necessary, accept it.
Prove it.
Lol! You just never quit, do you. If you really had any interest in being scientific about it, rather than just wanting to stroke your ego, you would seriously think about what happened to all those anarchic tax-free societies that supposedly existed in the distant past.

http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3upo83

If you want to go there, many low tax or no tax countries have been attacked and taken over forcefully by pro-government entities, more recently the EU forced Lichtenstein and Switzerland to start handing over their information, there's Anarchism or similar forms of very limited government failing of their own accord and then there's them failing because of outside political influence or even just plain old fashioned "Comply with our laws or you will be destroyed" force and threats.
7355  Economy / Economics / Re: A Virtual Weimar - Hyperinflation in Diablo 3 on: June 04, 2013, 12:42:40 PM
That's what gets me as well, you have these realism junkies in the games industry but when they show off what they're made it's crap frankly, like with Arma 2 I was like ">_< yeah that's totally realistic, a player with clunky and slow movement and A.I buddies that smack into houses constantly when they drive". I didn't really say there were realistic games but there is a problem in the games industry with people who are desperate to achieve it. Also, a lot of 'realistic' features that games developers make claims about are ones I call utter bullshit on, particularly when games above all else are supposed to be about fun.
7356  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter Schiff on Bitcoin on: June 04, 2013, 11:49:57 AM
jag2k2 you could take it to an assay office or something and have it evaluated if you're unsure, but this is why I acknowledge Bitcoin, even though it's really been designed for one thing it does what it's designed for extremely well without help.
7357  Other / Off-topic / Re: [CENSORING ME?] I found the real Satoshi on: June 04, 2013, 11:43:39 AM
That is the most fake looking thing I have ever seen, you know that I make several email accounts with fake information posted all over it to prevent people doing this sort of thing to me? If whoever Satoshi Nakamato is invented Bitcoin then he'll have been smart enough to recognise a creepy stalker would try and find out where he was and trick them into thinking he's in a country very far away from where he actually is or is extremely inhospitable. More recently the folks operating piratebay managed to fool people into thinking they had servers in North Korea.

And yes, I'm calling you out for being a creepy stalker because no one else would go to those kind of lengths to try and track someone down, now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to make an email account that makes people think I'm in Afghanistan if they look it up after I register to websites.
7358  Economy / Economics / Re: A Virtual Weimar - Hyperinflation in Diablo 3 on: June 04, 2013, 11:23:55 AM
Guys , it's a f*** rpg game....

Give it a rest , BTC might be a good thing but now to run everything according to BTC is madness.

I agree, many of the problems that are in the games industry right now come from people taking it way too fucking seriously, the realism obsession is a great example Sad
7359  Other / Off-topic / Re: Kids Today on: June 04, 2013, 10:18:08 AM
I bet that even wasn't a kid, jus some halfwit.

Kids are actually a lot more intelligent than people try to represent them as now.
7360  Economy / Services / Re: I want to review the amazing products you sell for Bitcoin! on: June 04, 2013, 09:25:09 AM
In the next couple of weeks I'll be making a better variety of silver necklaces, I'd be happy to sell at a discount if it got the word out and genuinely make people interested, I also plan on making other stuff as I get better at gemstone setting, I also plan on accepting Litecoin for them too since even that currency is actually managing to maintain its value quite nicely.

I post most of my stuff here for now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=121471.0

I'm a guy but even I know what you mean, it's like the gaming scene where you get nothing but guys >_< it's only until recently that girls have been getting actively into gaming.
