741  Economy / Reputation / Re: My exchange thread. Please post here if we deal on: May 12, 2013, 02:51:46 PM
I just wanted to point out that this may not be the best place to make a thread for this sort of thing, it probably belongs in the marketplace section. Also, I would like to point out your title isn't very well written, try making it something like 'My Exchange Thread. History of Deals Here.' "Please post here if we deal" just sounds awkward to me.
742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finding Blocks on: May 12, 2013, 02:49:48 PM
so my miner found a block, im wondering how much of that block i actually recieved since i found it. im part of a pool any help please

Depends on how much work you did towards finding that block. If you did 60% of the shares you'll get 60% of it. I'm not sure of the total amount of shares in a block however, that generally seems to be how it works.

Hi Patrick, we'll be having a (free to attend) conference at University of Limerick on May 25th that will feature a panel discussion on Bitcoin. It could be a good place to learn more and you'll be very welcome - http://3dcamp.barcamp.ie

+1 I've never had these BTC conferences near me where I know about them to, but I've heard amazing things about these conferences. You should definitely go check this out if you have the time.
744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hi newbie need btc? on: May 12, 2013, 02:47:57 PM
Hello, welcome to the forum. Very few people, but my guess is no one is going to give money to someone who posts a random plea in the newbie forum (which is not the correct section) and on top of that has a badly written post to back it up. Earn your own money.
745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Been a member for a long time on: May 12, 2013, 05:01:10 AM
The only one that has ever made it around the rule is the great and wise Catatafish.

Huh I'm not sure I really get your post, are you saying this is the only person whose managed to get through the newbie rule without waiting. If so I disagree with you because I'm pretty sure there's been more than one person whose managed to do that.

I use namecheap, they take bitcoin Smiley

Wow, very interesting I actually never knew that namecheap took bitcoins and I have used them before. I'll have to check them out and maybe I can start paying them in bitcoins:).

If you are just interested in getting some domains to purchase (renting it, or paying for it over a month is just weird, I would recommend actually purchasing them), another member posted about some nice quality domains he purchased in 2011.

Here is the link to his thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202489.0
748  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: multibit 0.5.9 on: May 12, 2013, 04:28:30 AM
Good advice and I think they could use this, however posting it in the newbie section of a bitcoin forum probably isn't the best place for them to see it and do something about it, though who knows I may be wrong.
749  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Greeetings - new here on: May 12, 2013, 04:27:31 AM
Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your stay here and find it exciting while learning lots of new things about BTC.
750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [bitcoin-qt] Securing a Cluttered Wallet on: May 12, 2013, 04:24:19 AM
Yes you would be safe to back it up wherever you please. I would also back up your old wallet, it takes an extra 10 seconds or so and may be able to provide you with some extra security. I would also recommend using armory if they get their service up and running again. Lastly, I would try and delete any versions of your old wallet that you don't need as they can pose an unnecessary risk.
751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Purchased Some Domains in 2011, thoughts? on: May 12, 2013, 04:22:28 AM
I could seem them as being worth somewhere, but if your really want make to make money you should try and develop them yourself. How is your bro doing at bitcoin mining, is he still doing it? He's lucky to have found out about it early. You should have bought a few bitcoins when you heard about it.
752  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling Mod Quad miner on: May 12, 2013, 04:21:11 AM
Wrong forum, try and post this in the marketplace section people will be happier and it will get more views. I would appreciate some more information about this such as the hash rate and such, and also as someone already posted your actual photos of the device so we see what condition you have it in versus the stock photos of the device.
753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi , can anybody give me bitcoins for Skrill money (euro ) ? on: May 12, 2013, 04:20:05 AM
Why don't you join an exchange like Mt. Gox or Vircurex and do it there, its not that hard. The fact that you have one post and posted this in the wrong section makes it so that there is scam written all over this post for me.
754  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 7950s best khash screenshotssss on: May 12, 2013, 04:18:53 AM
Congratz on the hash rates they are good. How long did you have to spend tweaking to get those hash rates, what specifications did you use, and how stable are those hashrates. I'm assuming your talking about LTC mining because khash is terrible for BTC mining.
755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to buy and sell bitcoins from the UK? on: May 12, 2013, 03:51:56 AM
There are lots of websites out there to buy and sell bitcoins especially in popular countries like the UK. I know Vircurex and Mt. Gox both work in the US, and I think they both work in the UK so you may want to check them out.
756  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are all the default avatars people from the 90s? on: May 12, 2013, 03:49:07 AM
I was actually wondering that too:). Maybe they think that people from the 90s are just better than people today, which I am not sure I disagree with:).
757  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: multibit client on: May 12, 2013, 03:48:27 AM
Ok. This is probably the most basic stupid question of all time, but I have a mac and want to download the latest multibit wallet, and when I click on link to download, the following list of downloads appears. Which one??? I gotta tell ya, its gonna be loooooong time before these bitcoins are widely accepted. I am not a techie, but have become obsessed with this currency, and I constantly run in to roadblocks caused by jargon I don't understand, even on supposedly user friendly clients like multibit. (Not to mention the paralyzing paranoia caused by reading all these freaky stories of people getting scammed. I'm afraid to turn on my computer.) Finished ranting. Thanks for listening.

multibit-0.5.9-linux.jar
multibit-0.5.9-linux.jar.asc
multibit-0.5.9-windows.exe
multibit-0.5.9-windows.exe.asc
multibit-0.5.9.dmg
multibit-0.5.9.dmg.asc

I'll explain it to you for the future. Your operating system is mac os. So when it has a linux and windows in its name its definitely not going to be those so you can throw those four out there. That will make it so that its .dmg for you (or none of them because most of these things don't have a client for mac). However, a simple google search will tell us .dmg is designed for apple so now we have the choice of .dmg or .dmg.asc. Well whats .asc? Another simple google search will tell us its an adobe extension, which we have no use for and as a result don't want. That'll leave you with multibit-0.5.9.dmg.

Hope this helps!
758  Other / Archival / Re: When will Cryptos become common? on: May 12, 2013, 03:08:14 AM
I don't know if they'll ever become mainstream, but if they do I would assume around 4 years.
759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm here to help the newbies! Please ask what you need! on: May 12, 2013, 03:07:47 AM
That's nice of you lol:)... um do you have a link to a one click download of cgminer, everywhere I visit to download has multiple different file choices and I don't know which ones to download or how to get it working.
760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: satoshi nakamoto identified? on: May 12, 2013, 02:58:42 AM
Interesting, I will be reading into this. I've always wanted to figure out who or who satoshi was so I've been reading articles like this for a while. I don't know if I ever will find out who he is, but its worth a try:)... guy creates a multi-billion dollar industry and we don't know who he is, few people wouldn't try to profit after doing something like that.
