741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My Bitcoin transaction has been stuck in the mempool for two weeks please help! on: December 13, 2023, 08:40:01 AM
TX ID.       cca62e5153e7de27861d1524732872aa88402e4c88eb9350471896ed81e70aa4
I'm having the same problem with a rejected cash app bitcoin deposit....PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP

Sorry, but you also got screwed. The transaction was sent with a fee of 6.58 sat/vByte, which is about 1/5 of what it should be, on the low end. The fee is even too low for a free transaction accelerator to pick it up. There's nothing you can do except for wait for the mempool to clear up substantially (unlikely to happen within the next 10 days) or use some kind of paid acceleration service, which I don't recommend as your tx amount is on the small side.
742  Other / Meta / Re: Second chances on: December 13, 2023, 06:35:13 AM
The second chance is only for individuals who were banned for plagiarism and not for ban evasion cheaters, and anyone who plagiarised again would be banned again. This is simple.

I hope you are correct; that's the way it sounded in the OP but was a bit hard to tell for sure. Because once an account is un-banned for ban evasion, what's to stop them from getting re-banned in the future when another connection is made to their old (still banned) account?

Case in point:

Username: NoorulHuda
...
Ban appeal thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5395857.0

This user claims they were banned for plagiarism but they were clearly banned for ban evasion:

743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My Bitcoin transaction has been stuck in the mempool for two weeks please help! on: December 12, 2023, 03:14:54 PM
my transaction/ Bitcoin reversal via cash app was November 27th  57295b06730415dfcf8935078e964a8495751044e134dacee3aca70a89afe0ac
 That's the TXID

Sheesh. That's a really skimpy fee. Kind of negligent on their part. I'm curious: how much do they charge you for a withdrawal? There's not much you can do except complain to them that they sent your transaction with a fee that is about 1/5 of what it should have been on the date of the transaction.
744  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov aka Symmetrick be in DT1? on: December 12, 2023, 02:14:00 PM
This was probably the fastest, steepest downfall of any well-established account, ever.

I can't believe he let what appeared to be a simple argument drag him all the way down to this level.

I also can't believe this thread has gone on for 19 pages, lol.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My Bitcoin transaction has been stuck in the mempool for two weeks please help! on: December 12, 2023, 02:08:47 PM
does anybody know what this guy did to get his transaction confirmed

It appears CashApp rebroadcasted it (not recommended at the moment -- you're better off waiting until the transaction falls out of the mempool, which takes about 2 weeks after the first broadcast).

On Sept 24th, the mempool started clearing. By Sept 26, median tx fees were low enough for a miner to pick up his tx, which had a fee 9.1 sat/byte.

If the transaction is not too large, you might try accelerating it here (ViaBTC will include it in their next mined block):

https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator

*yes I realize there's not just 1 mempool but I said that for the sake of simplifying the matter
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Vulnerability that allowed Ordinals to exist now has its own CVE code on: December 12, 2023, 09:54:20 AM
I agree that the Ordinals should be placed on an independent blockchain and let them do their thing.

The appeal of ordinals (and inscriptions) is having your data stored in the world's most secure and popular blockchain. Even if its just used as a marketing ploy, that's where the allure lies. There are already tons of other blockchains in which massive amounts of data can be stored. A few of them, such as Arweave, were created exactly for that purpose. Ordinals people don't want to use other blockchains... Well I mean they are now, but they're not as popular.

As with its status as a cryptocurrency, Bitcoin Ordinals are the gold standard for ordinals projects, and thus they will have higher value than ordinals on other chains, which now include:

- Litecoin
- Dogecoin (Doginals)
- Ethereum (Ethscriptions)
- Avalanche
- Solana
- Polygon

and most recently,

- Monero (Mordinals... believe it or not, its a thing now  Cheesy )

I think that a ban on wearing a signature will cool down scammers, and those people who were banned for an accidental or innocent mistake will return here. There were many of them in 2019. If they are still devoted to the forum and have not created an alternative account, then surely their posts will be able to warm the heart of the admin and get a second chance.

That's true, I forgot about the Great Plagiarist Extinction of 2019. There are a handful of helpful users who got caught up in that, their forum careers extinguished by a bot. They may have only plagiarized once or twice, and hey everybody makes mistakes and has moments of weakness. But I emphasize this was only a handful of the hundreds of accounts that were banned by the Plagiabot.

How do you feel about the idea of statutes of limitations on plagiarism cases? I think punishing somebody for a one-off offense done years ago (talking like 3 or more years ago) is a bit too stringent and the current plagiabot running around is a bit out of hand, leading to the banning of people for a mistake committed in 2014. Maybe the query or the rule should be tightened a bit. Just my opinion.
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription on: December 12, 2023, 09:07:31 AM
That's only $10,000 per block, even at the price of $100 million. At the moment miners are earning about $250,000-$300,000 per block. And what when the subsidy is actually zero? Fees alone will sustain the network, and banning swaths of transactions which pay high fees will not be sustainable.

I'm of the opinion that the hash rate will come down after block rewards get closer to zero; of course we're talking decades down the line. So it won't be as expensive for miners to do their thing -- theoretically, in terms of the ratio of mining cost to BTC price. The hash rate is already inconceivably high.

First that choice has to be added to the implementations then those who don't want to see this spam would start activating that option and reject the spam txs and those who want to see this spam would start running nodes and relay the garbage! Then we can see if it is actually a small group or not.

That's how Bitcoin should always work.

You can be happy, resting assured that's exactly the way things are already working right now...

Of course, you can always run a pruned node as well, that option was always available.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Vulnerability that allowed Ordinals to exist now has its own CVE code on: December 12, 2023, 08:57:40 AM
Luke denied writing the CVE a few hours ago:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-developer-luke-dashjr-denies-adding-inscriptions-nvd-vulnerability-score

Quote
Bitcoin core developer Luke Dashjr has denied playing any part in adding Bitcoin inscriptions as a cybersecurity risk on the United States National Vulnerability Database’s (NVD) Common Vulnerabilities and Exposure (CVE) list.

Dashjr courted controversy in a Dec. 6 post to X (formerly Twitter) claiming that inscriptions — used by the Ordinals protocol and BRC-20 creators to embed data on satoshis — exploit a Bitcoin Core vulnerability to “spam the blockchain.”

Some observers then pointed to Dashjr days later, when Bitcoin inscriptions appeared on the U.S. vulnerability database as part of the CVE list on Dec. 9, which described it as a security flaw that enabled the development of the Ordinals protocol in 2022.

However, despite being an outspoken Bitcoin Ordinals critic, Dashjr told Cointelegraph that he had no role in adding inscriptions to the vulnerability database’s CVE list.

Interesting that the vulnerability was assigned a "medium" score of 53. Not low, not high, right in the middle. I wonder who assesses these kinds of things -- its not easy to tell from the article. In any case, I think they got it right. Blockchain bloat is indeed a problem, but as data storage solutions continue to improve, how big of a problem will it actually be in the future?

I do understand that, ideally in principle, block space should be reserved for actual transactional data, but I think the point remains.

You don't have to bump this ban appeal thread.

Follow the guide from Cyrus for second chance in 2023 greeting holidays and get your second chance.

There's an overwhelming probability that they are bumping it because they were already logged in to the forum under an alt account and saw that thread. The bump occurred within 6 hours of the creation of that thread.

Well thank you for suggestions yes i was thinking to leave bitcointalk... but still I'm getting notifications on Telegram since my local community is still discussing me... the work I did there will be remembered.

I don't believe this for one second. You are probably discussing yourself through different alt accounts.

and also my efforts and time i put in this account I will never forget...

Saying this only proves that you see "this account" as nothing more than a commodity. Its not your personality, its not your identity, its just one account of what is likely many.

i will keep fighting for my right.

You have no rights here, only privileges.

I know this gesture is made out of goodwill, and you're a better man than I for offering such reconciliation, but there's a bunch of people I hope don't read this  Cheesy

I'm referring to all the scheming, conniving, alt-accounting, merit-groveling weasels that are anything but honest and only here to extract as much wealth from as many different sig campaigns and bounties as they can get themselves into.

I'm guessing most of those who take this offer won't last a year before they find themselves banned again -- they are cheaters at heart and can't help themselves.

Yeah so its potentially dumb of me to bump this, but not really, because I'm sure it would have been bumped anyway.

Seasons Greetings everyone! 🎄

This account appears to have been temp banned between June and October. When they came back, they first posted gibberish that I have no idea where they got, and then started posting AI crap again. I'm pretty sure this warrants a neutral tag. Pretty much all the posts they've written since October should be deleted as spam.

If there are particular incidents or charges against Sam, the facts must be examined and the legal process must be followed. Without specific proof, jumping to assumptions can lead to erroneous charges and disinformation. The worry or concern around the rise of cryptocurrencies and its possible consequences for established financial institutions is a hotly debated issue. It is critical to remember that in democratic nations, the judicial system relies on the concepts of fairness, due process, and the assumption of innocent unless proven guilty.

Your tale emphasizes the significance of a balanced approach to finances. Your experience as a bounty hunter and dabbling in cryptocurrency trading demonstrate that, while taking risks might result in substantial earnings, it's also critical to retain a consistent income through your tech work. Learning from past failures, particularly in risk management, is an invaluable lesson. To assure a better financial future, it is critical to work hard and commit yourself, as you indicated, but also to be judicious with your profits. The secret to success is balancing ambition with financial responsibility.

While it is true that Bitcoin is frequently a more trustworthy and secure trading option in the turbulent world of cryptocurrencies, trading Bitcoin exclusively may restrict your potential for profit, as the cryptocurrency market is packed with alternatives other than Bitcoin. Given Bitcoin's effect on broader market mood, traders must continually monitor its price. However, it is also critical to diversify and investigate other interesting cryptocurrencies with solid foundations and market potential. Instead of shunning altcoins entirely, including them into your trading strategy and keeping a close watch on Bitcoin's price might help you navigate this volatile area more successfully, grasping the varied investment opportunities it provides.

His idea of developing X into a full financial hub looks to be more of a pipe dream than a realistic goal. Skepticism is raised by the promise of transforming global transactions and leaving existing banks obsolete by the end of 2024. Musk's expansion into numerous projects, ranging from space exploration to electric automobiles, has some questioning his initial objective of colonizing Mars.
While Musk's previous accomplishments with X.com and PayPal give credibility, the current financial ecosystem presents complicated regulatory and public trust difficulties. The requirement of presenting an alternative to established services such as Western Union raises further concerns. Despite Musk's track record of beating odds, the timescale for X's financial transformation is unduly optimistic, making it a dubious addition to his ambitious portfolio.

Creating your own route provides liberty and harmony with personal ideals, but it demands major commitment and is fraught with pitfalls. Finding a job, on the other hand, gives financial security without the need for personal asset investments, but the competitive job market requires certain skills and expertise.
According to my observations, the balance is determined by individual circumstances and risk tolerance. It's a fluid decision impacted by personal goals, abilities, and the ever-changing economic situation.

Navigating through the flood of speculative noise in the volatile world of cryptocurrency demands a keen eye. It is critical to proceed with care when confronted with the cacophony of cryptocurrency forecasts. While alluring headlines promise stratospheric riches, it's important to note that many of these self-proclaimed gurus have a chameleon-like history of preaching panic in bad markets and then abruptly morphing into optimistic prophets during bull markets.
It is critical to rely on thorough investigation rather than falling to the temptation of '100x' claims. Following influencers on social media blindly might lead to risky investing decisions. Instead, arm yourself with information, validate reputable sources, and devise an educated plan. A balanced approach is your best defense against possible traps in a market where disinformation abounds.

I spent some time looking through one of his BSC addresses and outside of the one alt account identified by logfiles, his transaction patterns don't really match those of a real bounty cheater (though he definitely has other accounts). It looks like he was doing a lot of token trading, and losses incurred on that venture potentially explain why he lost all his money.

It appears that "deleted posts" also includes posts deleted from self-moderated threads, and posts deleted by the poster themselves.

For a few of the most successful short posters, there's something to be said for eloquently getting your point across in as few words as possible. For example, jojo69 is famous for posting just memes, and when he does use words its usually not a whole lot. When he wasn't going on a verbal tirade, Phinnaeus Gage could also be eloquent, frequently posting memes as well, and then of course there's ChartBuddy.

Since June, the AI Spam Report Reference Thread has resulted in 500+ AI-generated (or AI-assisted) posts being deleted as spam. It's now 16 pages long and I'd say its been a massive success. Most of the accounts that continue to post ChatGPT-generated material are newbies who don't know any better and think they can get away with it. Most senior accounts don't bother, or else they've found a way to evade the detectors.

Anyway, I'd like to thank the following members for their consistent contributions to the thread:

@jokers10
@lovesmayfamilis
@light_warrior (RIP)
@Who is John Galt?
@Etranger
@Gladitorcomeback
@Shishir99

You guys have been really helpful & I encourage anyone who comes across AI spam to report such posts in the thread, following the steps outlined in the OP.

To achieve 100% accuracy check the content using Easy AI Cheker https://easyaichecker.com/

Thanks for this, I'll check it out & potentially add it to the list of checkers in our thread. Also, to address your question in another thread (since its related to this one):

I paid $100 using Binance pay to a writer after checking the content it appeared AI generated. Is there a methods to claim a refund?

I don't think so. Even if you explicitly told the writer not to use AI to write the text, and they did anyway, I doubt Binance would help you recover the money from them.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription on: December 10, 2023, 10:00:25 AM
come on franky. nutildah is a pretty smart person and knows alot about the ordinals and bitcoin ecosystems. but doesn't mean he buys and sells them. so i think you might be making a leap of logic there. but even if he did buy and sell them for profit, that's what they exist for is to make profit. that's why people are involved with them i would imagine. and maybe a few people just like having a picture of a monkey stored on the blockchain so they can tell their friends.  Shocked

You're right. I've never touched them, but that hasn't stopped me from wanting to learn about them. The underlying system is a brilliant idea that only one person had ever put forward before. Ordinals have reinvigorated interest & sparked lively debate in Bitcoin in a way that not much could, besides the Bitcoin ETF, which is kind of boring in comparison.

I've put franknbeans on ignore as all his arguments eventually devolve into a personal attack, if not immediately. He's not here to learn anything -- he's here to lecture all about his opinion. The problem is, on a technical level, he's often wrong. And he'll never admit it, which is why its not worth engaging with him.

I'm also more into Dogecoin in terms of what I do for a living, but I also never touched Doginals, even though its all the rage, currently filling Dogecoin blocks, and I'd be up big if I bought the 1st "DRC-20" tokens when I first heard about them.

Otherwise if they truly wanted to create tokens there are countless ways of doing it from using bitcoin side chains such as RootStock to actual token creation platforms such as Ethereum.

The entire allure of Ordinals rests on the idea that its data is directly embedded in Bitcoin, the world's most popular & secure blockchain. This is why they don't care about alternatives. I'm just trying to help you understand why things are the way that they are. You can continue to rail against it if you want, but we both know that won't change anything.

One time I gave 20+ merits here to an account I thought was here out of their own general interest... they joined a signature campaign within a week, and later it turned out to be the 5th alt account of a banned user (they got their ban removed and are still posting here under at least 2 other accounts, but that's not the point).
I remember I think he is naim027. I remember his story how he got perban first, then unban, then again ban (with alternative accounts confession). If I am not wrong.

I mentioned naim027 for Negotiation. He should go through his story.

I will give you 5 merits if you can correctly guess the two alt accounts Naim027 is currently operating; at least the ones I am thinking of (he may have more but I'm not sure).* You have to name them both, and you only get one guess.

* I am only 95% sure they are him which is why I haven't mentioned it elsewhere yet.

Truth be told, I made more money from Dogecoin than any other cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin. But this wasn't necessarily because I invested in big quantities of it before the Elon phenomenon. It was because of stuff I built on it back in 2014 which is worth money now. But I know none of you here care, you are here to shitpost your way into ecstasy. So let me not keep you here any longer with my boring tales of what it means to actually build something using crypto.

Dodge coin is a meme coin that has over the years appeared profitable and have appreciated above their lunch price well enough. It could be considered very suitable enough for a long term investment and looks promising enough to still be seen for a while, because definitely nothing last forever but in the mean time bwe could work with what bis available.

LOL. One of the worst posts I've ever seen. What do you reckon the "lunch price" of "Dodge coin" was? If you can answer correctly, I'll forgive you.

You have misspelled doge coin.. It is doge coin , not Dodge.

Its actually Dogecoin... no space between "doge" and "coin".

OK I'm gonna try to give you some helpful advice: stop posting what you think other people want to hear. Post your own, original thoughts. It helps if you can contribute something useful or original to the forum in general... in other threads (not this one). Maybe you look at other posters who have learned how to get merits here by saying the right things and you're trying to be like them -- don't. Its annoying and I will never merit them.

One time I gave 20+ merits here to an account I thought was here out of their own general interest... they joined a signature campaign within a week, and later it turned out to be the 5th alt account of a banned user (they got their ban removed and are still posting here under at least 2 other accounts, but that's not the point).

Since then, I almost never spend merits on any account less than a Hero in here. If it seems like they are just posting here to get merits, forget it, I will never help them anywhere.
