To Claymore:

Yesterday my rig was cracked through management port of Claymore Dual Miner. The rig has an external fixed IP address, than and the hacker used.

As a result of cracking in the directory of a miner start.bat on following was changed :

Code:
EthDcrMiner64.exe - wd 1 - r 1 - gser 2 - epool eu1.nanopool.org:9999 - ewal 0x2303eB2dc0Fa11B3a1B330F80e7D0D360E751c1B/WORKCOMP/my_mail_address@maildomain.com - epsw x - dpool stratum+tcp://dcr.coinmine.pl:2222 - dwal Stromfreser.Stromfresser1 - dpsw jamjam - dcri 40

(my e-mail is changed)

After change of start.bat my miner was remotely restarted by the hacker, and several hours it worked for addresses of wallets of this bastard.
https://eth.nanopool.org/account/0x2303eB2dc0Fa11B3a1B330F80e7D0D360E751c1B

It is possible to exclude somehow this possibility of cracking further? Thanks in advance!

So far I replaced a port address with another from default port address...

2 All users: Beware!

This discussion of other similar attack of the same hacker: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279903.msg16915753#msg16915753
It is always a very bad idea to use external fixed IP address directly on your miner, in better case you must use firewall like PFsense or usual router, it is harder for hackers to scan miners through NAT.

On what quantity will it be 3.000$ ? 10 ? 25 ?
Price is great but what about shipping? Outside US it will cost a lot!

I know that one dummy per rig and that's the strange thing, rigs were are 3x RX480 cards don't behave like that, rigs were are 6x RX480 cards randomly do this not all and not every time. Like if I restart rig were no monitor is plugged and it auto starts the miner in remote manager and even after connecting to RDP shows only one card stats, if I restart it second time it will work. For now two out of 13 6x RX480 rigs ar showing only one card stats. Actually I didn't mind it showing me less info, I just want to be secure in case of some card loses it's fan or any other reason overheats it, I just need the command -tstop to work. So the question will be if the miner sees the one card stats only will the command -tstop make other overheated card to stop ?
tstop won't work as the driver ins't giving any monitoring data to the miner
I tried everything in the registry (disablling ulps), or various adapters, nothing worked except a real monitor (even off) or a dummy plug. As soon as that was plugged, monitoring was back and I was able to access wattman settings
too bad, It costs damn too much. Buying two or three won't make any difference
Well, spending $12 on $750 rigs doesn't seem unreasonnable.
As it allows you to undervolt and to avoid 30% on your energy bill ...

Edit: It's even cheaper : http://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-dummy-plug-4K-EDID-emulator-monitor-for-mining-rigs-and-other-/232147267710?hash=item360d0e307e:g:2bkAAOSwcLxYEf2Z
Yeas I know but I have to test them first, buy two or three of those, there are 77 rigs total, some of them have other problems which involves plugged monitor so..

I have 7x s9, they were working perfectly, avg temps are 80-87, about a week ago one of them just stopped hashing and after unplugging from power and plugging in again it started mining again with no issues, today three of them did the same.
Is there any chance to see the logs why they turned off ?
anyone ?

Instead of powercycling them did you try just restarting them from the GUI?

As aarons6 said the logs are probably toast after a reboot, so best bet is to investigate while the machine is on.
I haven't tried that because someone rebooted them before informing me about the issue, that's an interesting idea to check them while they are not hashing.

if the s9 is like the s7 and s5 there are no logs saved.. once its powered down they are cleared..

So I suppose there is no other way to know why they keep shutting down. I'm sure that it isn't temp issue. What if internet drops and comes back after one hour ? Is there a chance that some miners can reconnect and others not ? I'm getting internet from quite far distance via 5GHz and there is a chance of network drop downs, is it possible ?
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.4 (Windows/Linux) on: November 22, 2016, 01:31:07 PM
I am having trouble getting my rx 480 rig to work for anything.  I have tried multiple crimson drivers (I still suspect a driver problem) but I always get the same result.  Claymore's miner crashes as soon as it would normally start hashing, and this is true for both this dual miner and Claymore's ZEC miner.  Ethminer will run, but shows zero hashes (this is true for multiple versions of ethminer).  I have tried removing and reinstalling 5 different crimson driver versions and it all seems to succeed successfully but I am still getting these same results every time.  This PC was running catalyst 15.21 originally with r9 290's and I suspect some artifact from those drivers is sticking around.  Before I proceed with an OS reinstall I wonder if anyone has suggestions.  I have used DDU between crimson driver versions (although not in safe mode just yet).  I am working remotely so can't do DDU in safe mode but I will be going onsite today to try that as my last resort before an OS reinstall.  Anyone have a suggestion? (Win 7 x64 if it matters).
I suppose there are three cards in your rig, plugging in just one card to be sure PSU is ok would be a great idea before you start messing around with OS, when you get to that place you should try that first I think. If it's a driver stuff then reinstalling OS will fix it.

When I restart remotely and there is no monitor attached to any GPU (6x RX480) Remote Manager and even when I login to RDP miner itself shows onlu temp and fan speed of only one GPU. Is it a known bug or am I doing something wrong ? All other rigs temps are fine and I'm also using tstop command if something goes wrong, but I'm still wondering why is this happening?
You have to use an hdmi (or display port) dummy plug (from $10 to $15, you can find some on amazon or ebay) to have monitoring / overclocking working on RX4x0.
IIRC, using RDP disables monitoring too ... better use vnc, jump desktop or team viewer
I noticed it on rigs were are 6xGPUs and windows 10, on win7 6xGPUs everything works great. Also I was thinking about dummies but I'll have to buy 50+ and it costs way too much. If this one GPU output doesn't affect the tstop command and internally miner sees the temps of other GPUs then it's ok, if not I need to find a way
You only need one dummy per rig, not one per card;
It's a consistent behaviour for the rx card, my R9 / 79xx do not behave like this, regardless of the OS

I know this had been discussed a lot, but can someone clarify to me one more time why my rigs hashrate is less on coinmine.pl then the real hashrate miner shows ?

because pool determines your speed by shares submitted and pools always fluctuate so 1 sec u might be way higher than u have next lower but usually it avg the same
Thanks now I kinda got it...
What will be the avg speed of RX480 8G ?

My sapphire Nitro OC + 8GB get around 176s/s stock bios, no OC on performance mode.

My MSI Gaming X's (again, stock bios no oc) gets around 162s/s.
My bad is that I modded most of my cards for ETH low power mining with avg 29.4mh/s. There are 266 RX480 8Gs to remod for ZCash from that low pow mod, only few are left on their stock bios and those are the ones with the highest hashrate at the moment. I don't know when I'll have to get back to ETH.

Think of the local hash-rate displayed by your miner in the same way as you would your optimistic MPG readout on your car. Say you have 1 gallon of gas left in your tank, your car's readout is showing you are getting 30 MPG and the nearest gas-station is only 25 miles away. According to the local readout your should be fine as you only need to go 25 miles not 30. However, the car's computer does not see the big hill you have to climb in order to get to the gas station, and that hill will temporarily drop your average down to 15 MPG, meaning you will only be able to drive 22 miles before running out of gas.

So if you turn your mind-set around a little and view the pool as the real hash-rate, and what your miner displays more like that car readout, you will be more likely to have better results as the pool takes into account real world factors such as stales, latency, bad (or good) luck, pool maintenance, etc.
now it makes more sense, thank you!

175-180 H/s
RX480 8G reference card gives about 160-165 with no bios mod

Fair prices and hope good service too, I would take a vouch copy if available.
I already had payed 3 month up front..
Hey. I'm new to this forum. What is vouch copy and how does it work?
UPD. I see you are an active on this forum, I think I could give you some isk or plex in advance but not for free.
It's a copy of a product you sell, you give it to someone, then they leave a review of your service and product. In this case it will be PLEX.
