741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: new feature - bitcoin v.9 on: July 06, 2013, 10:37:13 PM
10 GB block chain size is an issue.  We are only 4 years into the use of bitcoin with relatively low amount of transactions.  Fast forward 10-15 years once bitcoin is main stream, and block size definitely could become a major issue.  It would be nice if a "new" genesis block could be created every 5 years or so.  All the past transactions could be rolled up into an offline archive.  The block chain size also becomes an issue for mobile (phones) devices.  Nobody wants to download a 25-50 GB file before they can use their phone wallet.
742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much Bitcoin do you have ? on: July 05, 2013, 04:41:50 PM

(Intentially left off the "." for security reasons)
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The general population is insanely ignorant about Bitcoin - and here's proof. on: July 04, 2013, 05:15:53 AM
Their ignorance allows us to get in cheap.  They will eventually get in which will raise the price and then you win!

Shame that bitcoin gets all the bad press (extortion, drugs, money laundering).  Where's all the good press like charity drives and benefits of crypto currency?

If your cgminer shuts down that is an indication your drivers are not set up properly.

You might ask the question over in the "Pool" forum.  Someone may have advice there.
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Btc-e on: June 26, 2013, 06:58:32 PM
Their official word on CNC is that it will be removed July 10th. Also, when they added FTC and CNC, they didn't take the site down in preparation. Most likely this downtime is DDOS.

Or simply a server upgrade as a lot traders are moving from mtgox to btc-e.

If this was a scheduled upgrade or maintenance issue they would have posted this before they took it down.
753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using both of my PCI-E slots at once on: June 25, 2013, 01:30:22 AM
I have an extra PCIE slot on my motherboard that I'm not using. I'm planning on buying a second video card for it, but how exactly do I go about mining with both cards at once?

I've heard about crossfire, but I've also heard that you end up with a speed that is less than the sum of its parts with crossfire. Is there a way for me to get both cards to work as two separate entities on my machine?

Just throw a second card in (and load drivers) then fire up your mining software.  Crossfire not needed.  Cards will work independently for mining.  Hopefully the slots are spaced a good distance apart or you may have cooling issues or need a riser cable.

Same guy has more than one account.  He is just replying to himself to make it look real.

Why would an association need a license to be a money transmitter?  The association is not doing anything illegal by any standards?Huh    Just crazy....

The mods must be deleting accounts daily (from spammers and other non desirables).  I have seen the numbers fluctuate over the past few days.  Total pages have gone down recently.  Possibly there are gaps in the numbering.

About 128880 accounts registered now.

4296 (pages) X 30 (Users per page) = 128880

Probably only a 7500 active users...lol. (Minus dead accounts and duplicates)

Apples are indefinitely divisible.  Do we have 1 apple or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 apples?

Still one apple....doesn't matter how you slice it.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Instantly Withdraw MtGox to PayPal via BitInstant | LR, Paxum, Dwolla on: June 22, 2013, 12:20:14 AM
This is a 1 1/2 year old thread.  A lot of things have happened since then.  Best for you to check their website to see if it is still offered and ask them.
760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are only 21 THOUSAND bitcoins on: June 21, 2013, 01:22:49 AM
What brought that up?  Are you replying to another thread?  Not sure of your point (or logic).

Edit...now I see what you are trying to point out.   But like it was said by calian, it is just a ledger entry.
