761  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 450btc Bounty (Pledge) for Open Source Exchange project. on: January 01, 2011, 05:51:59 AM
It is if the big guy decides so. Since this is really one of the pioneering first ever things the govt got to choose based on its biased officials.(And most have trouble starting their computers)
762  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Crowdfunding(Open Source) - Pledge 5 BTC on: January 01, 2011, 05:37:10 AM
Don't worry, though, what I am pleading for an FOSS solution which is based around Bitcoin. Wanna pledge?

...if bitcoin gets too big and the government decides they want to shut you down they have a pretty trivial exercise to find you in violation of all kinds of regulations allowing them to bring the full force of their resources to bear on you.

It is funny how in MMOs you could be banned anytime without an explanation. It is the same with govts. It shows they are in power. ;o

...it's up to us as individuals to decide what we want to do with an available tool.

I can guarantee you there will be the people who use it for bad karma matters and then the govt will use it as another excuse to hunt us down. It is sad that many of the great things are ruined by a jerk. At the end it is just a tool. It does no good nor bad. It is blind and it is simply an extension of the user.
764  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [Offering] Web hosting, starting at 5 BTC/month on: January 01, 2011, 04:52:20 AM
Hey this is cool. What would be the pricing of a 100Mbit link?(20 GB/month or more) Where is the server located? Do I get shell access? Is it a VPS? can I run lets say a Cube 2 Sauerbraten server? Do you give discounts if I buy 6/12 months right away or is the price fixed?

Thanks. Smiley
765  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin Crowdfunding(Open Source) - Pledge 165 BTC on: January 01, 2011, 02:59:26 AM
Crowdfunding at a glance: It is a collective cooperation to fund a venture/project. It is pooling the money so _something_ gets done. A great example of this at work is Kickstarter.
So the requirements are:
  • Must be able to act as a escrow(Get onsite credits which = 1 BTC)
  • Meet the deadline or money returned to backers
  • Blogging capabilities with good access control over backers; Ex. A backer that gave 20 coins would not have the same access as someone who gave 200
  • Customizable rewards; This should also facilitate pre-selling.
  • Must use a design documents since an early stage post it here or a link to it; Regular updates are encouraged and not required

Design Documents:

Participants:

Pledges:
fabianhjr:10.00 BTC
Bimmerhead:20.00 BTC
brucewagner:100.00 BTC
Ed:35.00 BTC

Total:165.00 BTC
USD Approximate:600 USD

770  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: (REQ) BitCoin running under GPU on: December 31, 2010, 09:46:43 PM
Define powerful. the client is fine using the CPU it is the best option so far. The miners do take advantage of the GPU. Also, the resource consumption of the client should be minimal. Tongue

Also there seems to be an issue since I filled a buy at market price order and there are like 2 asks with price and neither hit it.
773  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Market 2 Testing on: December 31, 2010, 05:13:45 PM
Hey, when I fill an order shouldn't the confirmation page have all the info on the order so I can check it? xD
774  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bounty for Bitcoin Animated Movie [13622.05 BTC ($2520) and growing] on: December 31, 2010, 03:39:23 PM
I heard that FreeRange Studios are a little bit more accesible. They have an annual contest were the viewers get to choose the project of their liking that is going to recieve 100K dollars value of their service as rewards. They worked on The story of Cap and Trade and The Story of Stuff. They could like this proposition. Smiley
775  Economy / Economics / Re: what happenes if... on: December 31, 2010, 03:27:12 PM
My Good sir, did you just go through this entire forum and find all my posts and quote them here?
Your ingenuity Has convinced me to believe that i am a "Skid". However i must argue with your definition of a hacker. If you must know, the term hacker was first used in the 1960's for a person who trespassed on roofs who had no business being there. Later it was adopted by some university and used to describe programmers who would sit at their computer all night long and get their program to work perfectly. Then it was used in the model train station industry as model train modifications. Afterward, Computer programmers picked it up and used it to describe the using or modification of a computer program or computer circuit to be used in an unorthodox manner. With the release of the movie "Hackers" In 1995, it was changed to crackers, or cyber criminals. Perhaps it is you who needs to learn what a hacker is.

i go by the definition o a person who uses an object in a way it was not intended for.

Of Course i can "hack" or "crack" a password, but i can also "hack" My environment by doing parkour. Technically, that is what hacking is. Also, the root of the word was used in 4000 BC when criminals would break into library and "Hack" off the letters to manuscripts which were carved in stone.

For your information there is a search option by username. Also, who says the definition "the appropriate application of ingenuity" doesn't fit the above described? As a matter of fact you are getting better right now. I am going to stop calling you an skiddie for now. Also, you might want to see the movie Wargames; It is as relevant as Hackers.
776  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (>4000Mhash/s, join us!) on: December 31, 2010, 04:03:20 AM

777  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin library for PHP (alpha release) on: December 31, 2010, 04:02:11 AM
Hey, by any chance had you seen a PrestaShop module? I am not a great coder and need this to get my shop to accept Bitcoins.

Thanks for the library Mike. Cheesy
778  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Market 2 Testing on: December 31, 2010, 03:28:33 AM
Is this open source? If not could you give me an account so I can hunt the bugs and give you some feedback? From the quick look it looks really awesome and is a real competition to Mt Gox. One thing I would request is that you bring the
    * Top Orders
    * Recent Trades
    * Charts
to their own tabs on top. I would really like to have a fast way to access those with one single click.

If it is open source I could open a Mexican exchange. Smiley
779  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have nowhere else to turn.. on: December 30, 2010, 06:08:11 PM
Sorry, I don't cs. I was talking via IRC with some denhac hackers and dsockwell suggest it. Tongue

I had been researching it and might go cs in a near future. My parents won't allow it for the moment. Specially since I live in Mexico City and it has a fame. When I turn 18 and go to Europe/Asia I will be cs for sure!
780  Economy / Economics / Re: what happenes if... on: December 30, 2010, 06:04:57 PM
Are you aware the user-title has nothing to do with this?

You might have run several and see what happens, what is the worst thing that can happen if you took the time to experiment?

Thats why i need help. If i had purchased the 25$ scource, then i could do it all on my own in about 5 mins... that is not the case, i got the 199$ one.

Im going to assume you do not program.
And yes, i do hack.
Look up the REAL definition of the word "Hack" before you ask me to prove it by "hacking" a bank.
That is golden! The real definition of 'hack' by the ones who coined it back in the day is: 'the appropriate application of ingenuity'.
You might learn a bit by visiting the MIT's Hacks Gallery and reading The F.A.Q..

Because we are all going to start hashing everyones paypal addresses and check it with your list to see who is trusted... :/
Seriously, please, just post the paypal. It makes no difference.
It makes a difference because many(Including myself) has his real name and use their personal email for payments. Why do you use your nickname and not your REAL FULL NAME? Apart, it is extremely childish in my honest opinion.

That is why in my point of view you had proven to be a skiddie. If you want me to stop calling you a skiddie then give me proof that I am wrong and you are not an skiddie. Also, you might want to check your post for grammatical errors, it might change my view over you.
