Oh boy... Here we go!

Pool has jumped from 20-ish Mh to 85MH since I last checked a few minutes ago.. Network is now over 100. To the moon!

lol, KGW can't keep up with the pool.. Found 3 blocks in like 30 seconds. This is too fun. Diff going up .01 every couple mins though, better get in here and get some BRD while the gettin's good!

We are rocking and rolling now.

The tipbot's help link (wiki/index) is broken/missing. Might be discouraging for a newb.

If you haven't already, make a post on the subreddit and bring that to their attention. There's some one click commands in the sidebar, though, so shouldn't be too bad.

Well, looks like my pool IS the network hashrate, lol. I'm not an evil pool op though so nobody has to worry about me taking a giant dump on the blockchain and leaving it scrambled. I'm having a lot of fun, though!
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRI] Brightcoin ★ Scrypt ★ Bright future for this coin on: March 12, 2014, 03:29:59 AM
We have no source!!!

That is part of the Devs instamine plan.

1. Run miner close the node. Check
2. Don't Post source. Check
3. Get all of Noobs on the same pool and let it go down. Check
4. Kick in KGW when the pool are up and running. Check.

I keep seeing this term, instamine.. I'm not sure I get it.. Instead of premine like crazy, at launch they somehow shut everyone out and mine the living crap out of it real quick? I understand the why, but not the how.

To the guy who made the block and TX explorer: Would you set up a calculator for BRD as well? I like the one you made for 888, surely you could do the same for BRD?
767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Birdcoin Scrypt, POW, Kimoto Gravity Well. Most Profitable *UPDATE* on: March 12, 2014, 03:13:44 AM
If this gets on an exchange, is everyone going to dump? I'm not. I do not plan to dump.

I hope that not everyone does. I'd like for BRD to be worth more than 1 satoshi, lol. I'm working on getting my pools to be self-sustaining for a start, then work on making a real income off after that, while still offering competitive fees, incentives, and excellent service for people who select my pools.

When is your Pool Draw ?

Drawing is going to be Thursday. Looks like around 300k is up for grabs. I'm putting my personal earnings in the mix as well so may be a little more.

Here's how it's going to work. I find the number of users at the time of the drawing in the DB, then do a random(number of users here) and I will take the number it returns (userID), find username from that, and then verify that they are eligible (they received any payout over the week), then send them the prize winnings. If the userID drawn isn't eligible, or it's me, I just repeat the process til I find one that is.

I'm just wondering since the prize is such a big one if I should pick 2 winners and split it? What do you guys think?

I really want to offer you guys something that other pools do not, an added value for mining with me.
A Birdcoin address please? the dev team wishes to donate 1 Million Birdcoins towards this drawing, and 500k towards your pool. A bounty towards a exchange has also been established, 2 Million Birdcoins to each exchange adding Birdcoin. Maximum of 3 Exchanges.

Oh, somehow I missed this post! That's truly generous of you and is definitely going to make the prize recipients very, very happy!

LEVgfhsc9Rz6BUE786Z24rA8TnKfYJ1uMe

Can't wait to get an exchange to pick us up too, I'm itching to see where this goes!

edric can vouch for this, I upped the ante in his pool drawing by 250000 BRD!!
Yep, I was just about to announce this after I finished messaging you. Thanks much, you rock!

I am adding the entire 250k to the drawing, not just 25% of it, so the prize will be 650k+ BRD!

2 Winners would be a good idea Maybe the 1st Winner gets 2/3rds of the Winnings and the runner up gets 1/3rd.

Great idea! Thank you. This is a pretty big prize so even 1/3 is over a block and a half.

Wow, good work, this is exactly what we need! You should support 888 (OctoCoin) for your game too!

I like it! I'm gonna work on adding a link in the navbar and in the news page! Thanks a lot. Tipping you 100.

Edit: Added a link to the mining calculator right in the top of my pool's navbar. Good stuff.

I like the new logo, maybe the little BRD coin icon can be spiffed up a little though. Also you forgot to put a new icon on the actual .exe. I'm glad you're back, though, OP! I have no plans to shut down my BirdCoin Pool and hope the network grows and grows!

Lowered donation threshold on my pool to 0.5% by request. Thanks to everyone who's been supporting my pool so far! We're doing great and it's thanks to you.

If anyone is wondering about the live dashboard, it is turned on, but I have the refresh set to 30 seconds. From time to time the hashrate jumps way up and I want to avoid things bogging down for users.

Kinda neat. I like the googly eyes. Let the sysop at xnigma.com know! We're so close to getting into the exchange.
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [888] [SCRYPT] OctoCoin ◦ The Power of Eight ◦ Don't Blink on: March 11, 2014, 06:54:24 AM
love this coin but so far i think there it's not enough promotion and miners
i am worried about when we reach day 9, block reward change to 88, will most of the miner dump their coins Huh
when the new miners know first 8 days we got 888 per block, will they join Huh

Well, I think a lot of people will dump, but if we can keep people mining, those that hold on to their coins may be rewarded for it later down the line. It'll probably rise in value later on after the block rewards decrease to 88, hopefully. It hit a high of .00002499 today, I'm betting it can go higher than that. Tomorrow I need to scour the thread, I'm not sure what all exchanges we're on so far. I'll put them in a news post in the pool as well. For now though, I'm off to bed. Pool's at 115MH right now, going strong!
780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [888] [SCRYPT] OctoCoin ◦ The Power of Eight ◦ Don't Blink on: March 11, 2014, 05:19:08 AM
Devs, any status update on the tipbot for reddit? will you be posting it there when it's ready? thanks!

We will, yes. We have registered /r/octocointip and /u/octocointip - we will begin getting these sections updated this evening and get the Tip Bot linked up live.

We definitely want to get it out tonight along with all of the other items which have already been completed.

You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work! My pool is doing superb as well. We're not huge, about 13% of the network, but we're mining at a decent enough rate. I got the block explorer integrated into our system, seems your DNS has propagated already. I'm happy to say we're not experiencing any more payout issues and we're chugging along happily. This coming Saturday we're doing a 25% giveaway, so don't forget to mine and receive a payout to be entered in the drawing! I don't have an exact estimate for the prize yet but it'll definitely be enough to buy beer or pizza!

Ugh, I can't think about beer or pizza right now.. I just had a bad batch of nachos.

I've been doing quite well at your pool. FusionHash is working on taking over the world so I'd much rather support a smaller pool. You gotta fix the URL under your bitcointalk avatar though. It should be octocoinpool not octocoin.

Oh, good catch. It's funny because I looked right at it earlier and didn't notice, and in another thread I typed the same thing, when it was supposed to be a completely different URL.. I need to stop typing when I'm sleepy. I really appreciate everyone's support for my pool! We may not be big and we may not take over the world, but I hope I still provide a valuable service all the same. Having less users also means I'm able to provide more personal and prompt service to my users should they experience issues. I will always do what it takes to make sure you get what you earn. We may not be the biggest and the best, or richest, but if we ever make it there, it'll be because of you, the community and miners, which is why I dedicate myself to this endeavor so fiercely.

Since everything's running smoothly for now, I think it's time to play some FFXI...
