761  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] PureMining: Infinite-term, deterministic mining bond on: April 21, 2013, 08:28:18 AM
Hi, so far you've been one of the most helpful, honest and profitiable (dividend wise) bitcoin venture I've put money into... Are you still waiting for a secure colored coin platform or similar before re opening your doors to more investors etc? I ask this because I'm interested in some more shares...But would also like the abimilty to easily liquify the shares as I see fit..So would only be comfortable trading through some stock exchange medium. Bitfunder doesn't float your boat? Anyway, thanks bye.
If I do issue new bonds it will be in the form of colored coins. But with the explosive growth of Bitcoin in general and in Israel in particular, my other businesses consume roughly 200% of my time, so this is unlikely to happen in the near future.
762  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] PureMining: Infinite-term, deterministic mining bond on: April 20, 2013, 06:45:03 PM
you mentioned you are upgrading to ASIC may you say through what supplier you are using?
As I explained, I'm using BFL hardware and their upgrade program.
763  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Double geometric method: Hopping-proof, low-variance reward system on: April 18, 2013, 02:54:01 PM
I'm a bit confused about the term "fixed fee" vs average total fee" mentioned in the OP and what they mean. Is the "average total fee" the average fee the pool operator receives over the long term? Or is 'f' the fee the pool operator expects to receive over the long term?

I ask because I notice, for example, a pool that states it has a 1% DGM fee but parameters "f=-0.25, c=0.2, o=0.8". This makes the "average total fee" 0 which makes me think that that isn't the fee the pool is expecting to get on average.
What the pool operator receives over the long term is the average total fee, f+c-fc.

A pool with f=-0.25, c=0.2 indeed has 0% fee. You might be talking about OzCoin; the parameters displayed might be a relic from the time it was 0-fee, I don't know what parameters they actually use now. It's possible they added an additional 1% fee on top of the method formula; that defeats the purpose of having a parameter f for that.
764  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfloor shutting down on: April 18, 2013, 10:12:48 AM
It was hard enough for them to try to restart their business with a huge debt hanging over their heads that they were promising to repay with their profits.
Was it them who tried hide losses/gamble with client funds ? I remember distinctly one exchange doing that, and I figured that was the end of trust for that exchange..
Maybe you're thinking about bitmarket.eu?
765  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: April 16, 2013, 03:42:29 PM
How does Meni not have a scammer tag from this?  Am I misunderstanding his role in promotion of a scam?
I didn't at the time believe it is a scam (and "promoting it" is also a bit of a stretch). I understand the desire to find a scapegoat but I suggest you read this thread to understand how things transpired.
766  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: April 16, 2013, 12:41:29 PM

767  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Double geometric method: Hopping-proof, low-variance reward system on: April 14, 2013, 01:16:57 PM
(some code snippet...)
Code:
def share(user, diff=1):
  global worker, p, s, B
  my_r = Decimal(1.0) + p * diff * c_1 * o_1 / c
  score = p * diff * B * s
  s = s * my_r
  worker[user] = worker.get(user, Decimal(0.0)) + score

def estimate(user):
  global worker, r, f, p, s
  score = worker.get(user, Decimal(0.0))
  return score * (r - Decimal(1.0)) * (Decimal(1.0) - f) / (p * s)

Did I handle the var diff right? in linear model. p is always 1/D.
A small but important correction: The last line should be
Code:
  return score * (r - Decimal(1.0)) * (Decimal(1.0) - f) / (diff * p * s)
(Extra diff in the denominator.)

In addition:

1. The function "estimate" seems to return the reward that should be given to the user for a block just founds, but the name seems to suggest something else.

2. Make sure the r used in the reward calculation is based on the current p.
768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is booming in Israel on: April 12, 2013, 07:50:42 AM
There is even a bar in south Tel-Aviv that started accepting Bitcoin a couple of weeks ago. If you can buy beer in Bitcoin, it's THE sign this currency's gonna work  Wink
Which bar? I'm going to be in Tel_aviv soin and would like to stop by.

769  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] PureMining: Infinite-term, deterministic mining bond on: April 12, 2013, 07:22:34 AM
What's the payment period of PureMining?

From twice per week, to once per week, and ten days one payment.

What day payments of this time will happen?
Sent a coupon now and will try to restore the weekly schedule.
770  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-11 Israeli banks limit money connected to bitcoin. on: April 11, 2013, 12:41:58 PM
I'm not sure that broadcast has all its facts right.

Things are in a bit of disarray and I only have first-hand knowledge of some of the events.

I think "banning transfers to Mtgox" is the exception rather than the rule (and that banning transfers to Japan in general is a fib). The rule is imposing limitations on local Bitcoin exchange services due to a concern about AML compliance.

The whole thing is currently being explored with several government agencies.

Bitcoin is not about mining!
772  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: April 10, 2013, 03:20:26 PM
He has real estate assets which could be liquidated to cover his obligations if it comes to that point.
I wouldnt have lent anything if I had known that this was a lie... or at least without any proof just made up to drag us into this whole mess.
I clarified abundantly that I had no first-hand knowledge or proof about either his assets or intentions; and that everything ultimately rests on his good intentions.

We thought the information we had was sufficient to justify the loan. We were wrong.
773  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BDT - 3% weekly interest bond, backed by Bitdaytrade on: April 10, 2013, 11:36:59 AM
Meni, you said you would disclose all information you had, but you still didn't. Could you please post everything you know about this guy in this topic?
Can you link to that post? It's not likely I said I'd disclose everything publicly because there are legal repercussions to that. For now I'll add the following to what was quoted by Bjork:

I'm incredibly busy right now so I won't be able to dedicate any significant time for this, but I can contribute some funds to the effort.
Great... so first you are dragging us into this and now you dont have any time to solve it...
We've been over this already. I didn't drag you to anything, I managed the IPO. You made a bad investment decision (as did I) and you are now looking for someone to pass the responsibility to.

I'd like to remind people though that the chance to actually recover funds isn't great.
That did sound pretty different at the beginning too...
At the beginning I believed Alberto intended to honor the bonds. Now I don't.

And I wrote a post mortem specifying this change in belief over half a year ago.

Anyone ever asked himself what Meni Rosenfelds true role is in all this?
My true role in all this is exactly what is specified in the OP and following posts.

What i can guarantee: The actors in this fraud gonna regret it.
I'm not an actor in any fraud but you can be sure I'm regretting ever taking on this job. That too I explained in depth in the post mortem.
775  Local / עברית (Hebrew) / Re: Coming to Israel, Any services take Bitcoin? on: April 09, 2013, 05:25:58 AM
There are some services that accept Bitcoin but not of any of the kinds you mentioned, I don't know of many which will be relevant to you (and the lists of such businesses are in Hebrew). Of some note is the bar / vegan restaurant "Bar Kayma" in Hamashbir 22 Tel Aviv (http://barkayma.co.il/english/).

Edit: There's also http://www.shevet-ahim.co.il/en/.
776  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] PureMining: Infinite-term, deterministic mining bond on: April 07, 2013, 05:43:46 PM
Thats great to hear you are upgrading to ASIC will this cost us something or is this a friendly upgrade  Wink
As I clarified now and multiple times earlier, PureMining is a deterministic bond. It is not affected by private events such as an ASIC upgrade.
777  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] PureMining: Infinite-term, deterministic mining bond on: April 07, 2013, 05:29:31 PM
Thanks, for some odd reason the website won't load for me Sad
anyway my next question is since the difficulty and network total keep going up, thus making mining less profitable everyday, is there a point where you would consider switching a portion to other alt coins? for example litecoin and ppcoin are making more money with mining power and if that was sold at market price it would make for a profit increase, just an idea Smiley Thanks Smiley
PureMining is deterministic so these considerations won't affect the coupon payments.

Anyway, the mining used to hedge this are based on BFL FPGA (hopefully, soon to be upgraded to ASIC) which I don't think is suitable for these alts.

Meni Rosenfeld, no payments for more than a month?

yes, payments was given on 10 march, 19 march, 28 march, 4 april.
didn't check address.

Edited
This post is kept up to date with the coupon payments.

http://bitcoinity.org/markets
mtgox
779  Local / עברית (Hebrew) / Re: כריה on: April 07, 2013, 02:08:19 PM

780  Local / עברית (Hebrew) / Re: שירותי מסחר והמרה לשקלים on: April 07, 2013, 02:05:52 PM
