7661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin related services under sustained attack? on: April 28, 2013, 09:16:08 AM
Some of you may have noticed my website keeps getting knocked down and I got an email from the CEO of my webhost letting people know what's going on, mtgox was down for a bit yesterday I noticed and I was wondering if any other Bitcoin services and websites were under attack? It seems like someone really has it in for anyone to do with Bitcoin but I wanted to find out for sure if anyone was experiencing the same sort of thing, it at least explains a lot of the technical issues I've been having Cheesy.
7662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How will cc solve greenhouse gas? on: April 27, 2013, 03:50:02 PM
I've been saying this for awhile now, scientists have technically already solved it, they've managed to get bacteria to eat carbon dioxide and produce ethanol/electrons etc. so what's needed now is investment in that area rather than "W3 NEED M0AR WIND TURBINES AND REGUL4TION 2 S4V3 THE PLANET AND MAKE ME LOTS OF MONEY!".
7663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Next big crypto currency? on: April 27, 2013, 01:42:36 PM
Definitely Litecoin...but seriously at some point these alt coins need to stop IMO...everyone is trying to cash in

This is a free market, a real one, the more currencies we have the better because we can experiment and find out which system works best.
7664  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Husband does not want me to Day Trade BTC but it works well for some, right? on: April 27, 2013, 11:36:36 AM
I'm with Wardrick, don't do day trading unless you fully understand what you're doing, what I'm doing is working on getting businesses set up that accept Bitcoin instead people are too obsessed with getting rich quick and think because someone else does it they'll automatically be able to do it as well. The best thing in this kind of economy is to make sure that you can make money and then preserve that wealth so that you don't end up screwed when the banks finally collapse.

People who day trade often are either very lucky, got in early or have a much better mindset and technical understanding of the charts and price movements that go on in day trading. It may well be better to put a small percentage towards these people and let them manage for you rather than do it yourself. I went and tried doing day trading in forex for awhile and places like that and I just couldn't wrap my head around the concept so now I'm sticking with what I know best, hammering and bending precious metal and drawing artwork Tongue.

You really would be better off setting up a business or something that accepts Bitcoin and building up a nice surplus for yourself that can't be stolen by banks.
7665  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I made 30% trading bitcoin stocks last week on: April 27, 2013, 08:19:04 AM
Nice one OP Tongue I'm usually used to seeing those kind of titles followed by a scam Cheesy
7666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keiser said Bitcoin Foundation should run Bitcoin and set the price on: April 27, 2013, 07:51:23 AM
Go fuck yourself Bitcoin Foundation, I refuse to allow another central bank to form while I can do something about it.
7667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News: Satoshi sighted as member of "the Foundation" on: April 27, 2013, 07:45:39 AM
What makes you think Satoshi isn't entirely capable of defending his own honor, if he's upset about this?

It's possible that THE BITCOIN FOUNDATION, INC. just entered his name and details into the by-laws and makes it appear that Satoshi endorses THE BITCOIN FOUNDATION, INC.

Additionally, they admit they have locked Satoshi out of the forum.

His account is locked, so no. If he wants to claim his account, he'll have to contact me with a PGP signature.

I think this as well, it looks like a classic way for them to try and seem legitimate and get more people on your side, kind of like organising a rebellion and marrying a princess so the rebellion seems more legitimate except in this case they're taking advantage of the fact that Satoshi seems to not want to show up in public and I suspect this kind of thing is exactly they were worried about.

I also seem to recall that they won't be making public how they spend their funds, which is also an odd decision.

They need to maintain their 'independence' from oversight to help them regulate Bitcoin Tongue

or old sarcastic bastards.

wait a minute.

I'm 23! I'm too young to be an old sarcastic bastard yet! >_<
7670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why such agreement that Deflationary currency is a bad thing on: April 26, 2013, 01:48:37 PM
That simply isn't true, most people save to buy something they can't afford, what an inflationary system does is get rid of their savings and force them to get a loan which in turn means they have to work it off longer than if they just saved up, also Bitcoin is designed to be deflationary and the value of it is rising far faster than in a year, you'd have to have ignored all historical prices to have come to your conclusion.
7671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interested in LTC, who else is feeling a coming boom? on: April 26, 2013, 10:59:59 AM
Don't forget to buy gold or silver! Tongue
7672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interested in LTC, who else is feeling a coming boom? on: April 26, 2013, 10:30:07 AM
I'm going to be taking LTC payments for my Jewellery when I put it up for sale Smiley it's good to diversify.
7673  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I just came across this article that sums up my feelings on the gun debate on: April 26, 2013, 07:39:36 AM
oops, my mistake Cheesy wrote that when I was tired lol Tongue accidents for sure but not suicides yes >_<
7674  Other / Politics & Society / I just came across this article that sums up my feelings on the gun debate on: April 25, 2013, 10:52:18 PM
http://thebigslice.org/637/

It's quite old actually but it gets the point across well and I think sums up mine, if you're going to sell guns to people, make sure they're properly trained and educated in them, if you give them to a bunch of stupid, fearful morons then of course you will get accidents and high suicide rates because they don't know how they work.
7675  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun Control is anti Women? on: April 25, 2013, 10:18:14 PM
The girls I know who do martial arts would disagree with you Cheesy while it's true muscle mass wise women are smaller than men anyone who has fighting experience will tell you that muscle strength by itself is never always the deciding factor since there are so many different factors that go off when something happens, never mind the fact that women have been recorded lifting up cars due to adrenaline because a family member or child is trapped underneath. I will agree though that technology has always levelled out the battlefield for the perceived weak When it came to medieval times it used to be knights on horseback that ruled everything, then normal people started developing longbows and the like to take down opponents that otherwise would run them down.

What about in the instance of gang-rape 3-8 men zerg rushing 1 female (trained or not).

Then in normal circumstances you're screwed, it wouldn't matter if you're a man or a women but this is why ranged weapons were invented in the first place, I just think the people who support gun control are just irrationally terrified and naive.

7677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if Govt buys all bitcoins? on: April 25, 2013, 09:24:01 PM
If the government tried to buy up Bitcoins, then common economic logic dictates that would make the price of Bitcoin go up dramatically because of Bitcoins hard limit, I'd say that kind of move would be what finally kills them off because they'd have to print in order to make up the difference and speed up their hyper-inflation. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when the politicians and bankers try to actually do something :p that said though I wouldn't be surprised if they were behind the constant DDoSing of the exchanges.

Oh, that and the people who stubbornly hold on to their Bitcoins no matter what or just trade only in Bitcoins would end up ridiculously fucking rich.
7678  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UKIP (Nigel Farage) on the EU on: April 25, 2013, 04:10:12 PM
Yeah right, he does attack the EU that's true, but him and his party seem to be very much a Nationalist party more than anything, don't make the mistake of thinking because these guys don't like the EU they're friendly towards the Libertarian and Anarchist view, the one thing I like is they're causing some chaos in the mainstream politics.
7679  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is antisemetism acceptable on: April 25, 2013, 02:58:22 PM
The Guardian has far more anti-Christian and anti-Muslim posters on CiF than anti-semites.  They just don't like any religion there.
The Guardian is a bunch of psuedo intellectual toss for teachers and champagne socialists. It's packed with hypocritical
spew and contradictory nonsense. The only view they the promote is international socialist nihilism,.. I wouldn't
wipe my bung-hole on it

Yet the Guardian editorial staff don't endorse socialist politicians.  Are you sure you know what you are talking about?

He's a silly communist fearing neo-conservative Tongue don't mind them, they see socialists everywhere because the communists are almost all gone now, it's easy to get taken in by them, I can find plenty of reasons to not like the Guardian very much and it has nothing to do with their politics.
7680  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is antisemetism acceptable on: April 25, 2013, 02:55:46 PM
It isn't that anti-Semitism is acceptable, I suspect most of us just have the sense to immediately put them on the ignore list and watch the racist cunts' threads go all the way to the bottom, I don't know about other people but to me anti-Semitism is such an old and stupid prejudice that I can't even be bothered arguing the logic anymore, at least when people hate on other ethnic groups it's sometimes reasonably new. It won't be long now before media groups decide to accuse us of being racists now they can't attack Bitcoin because they don't understand how a block function works and just see all the hate spam that gets put on the forum.

I'm not accusing the OP of being one because you seem quite reasonable but I predict soon there will be a wave of computer illiterate morons who can't find the ignore button and will immediately call for a ban/regulation of something they have no understanding of.
