Obliteration of earths biosphere by patented organisms leads to a tyrannical world dictatorship employed by the control of the worlds food supply.
That's already happened. The USDA already upholds patents on crop seeds that are only good for one season. The world's food supply is already ran by corporate oligarchy.

So corporations has gained value on this? What about society as whole, will it benefit from value which certain group has achieved and controls?
Society doesn't gain value from this. You can ask the governments why they are enabling the corporations through these laws.

Because they are paid to do so? Or atleast only opinions they hear is once supporting it.

So how could society gain value, in best way and how it should be distributed?

784  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people in USA fear socialism so much? on: September 08, 2011, 05:47:27 PM
Socialism destroys any natural incentive that comes from human desire and puts it in the hands of elected bureaucrats that are incapable of true failure. They get paid no matter how well their mandates work and can only be fired every term or so. That's assuming they are held accountable. There's no competition to do that.

In conclusion, due to little true accountability and the inability to fail, socialist services are inherently inferior in terms of product output and the vast amount of inefficiency required to generate said product.

That is a blanket statement against socialism which does nothing to address why Americans vs. some other nations have the feelings they do about socialism.

Other question is where does this all come from. The hate too?
785  Other / Politics & Society / Why do people in USA fear socialism so much? on: September 08, 2011, 05:38:44 PM
I don't understand, maybe I'm just too young with whole cold-war mentality born just around collapse. Sure communism didn't work out very well.

But, I do prefer some socialism to pure capitalism. So I don't realy get this whole fear of it in USA, it can't be all bad or is it? Can someone explain it to me?
786  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much money have you made speculating on bitcoin? on: September 08, 2011, 05:32:14 PM

787  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An Annoying Market Failure on: September 08, 2011, 02:23:48 AM
Fear caused failure in goverment, on other hand failure in goverment was caused by money and lobbying...

It's high time to crash the system, endure some bad years and move to brighter future. Also getting rid of investment banking and sectors which don't produce real tanglible value for economy, investments and such are needed for stock market, but there is lot of crap which is just bubbles, like there once was tulips Grin
788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-level Bitcoin marketing? on: September 08, 2011, 02:12:12 AM
I don't ever understand why anyone joins in pyramids, ofc you don't have to make spam yourself, but still much much better to start your own.

On other hand, where can the BTC be used in this case?
789  Economy / Speculation / Re: the real, actual, true, accurate reason the price dropped on: September 08, 2011, 02:06:23 AM
I think part of reason is problems with various service, one as MtGox, it can not hurt if you find out that company which your holds money is badly run and have some security issues. Increasing dificulty and issues in economy which might have make some persons to cash out and leave the "game".
790  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Value is Irrelevant on: September 08, 2011, 02:00:01 AM
BTC value to fiat curency can be irrelevant, once the whole chains can operate in it.

Meaning:
You buy TV with BTC
Seller has bought it with BTC, also paid shipping with with BTC
TV manufacturer has bought coponents and labor with BTC
and so on

Currently BTC can't work as there isn't stability, which wouldn't matter if it wasn't traded for fiat-currency by parties. Pretty much chiken and egg issue. Not going to be solved soon I belive, certain products can be handled this way I'm sure, but these are likely mainly services and then we must forget the equivalency to fiat-currencies...
791  Economy / Economics / Re: US is getting hit with disasters. on: September 08, 2011, 01:28:07 AM
I once suggested to my grandfather that perhaps the earth is some sort of a living organism that will adjust to remain in balance, and that's why there are earth quakes, tsunamis, lavines and other disasters. It was just a tought and a suggestion, but he looked at me like I was insane, and frankly he became quite upset.

Now, I don't believe in God. I believe in logic and science. Yet, organisms have good adaption abilities, and in a larger scale we see eco systems that have cycles over the years. I don't know too much about this, a scientist would be able to tell more about it, but it's an interesting though that if humans misused earth and disturbed the balance, that the earth somehow would strike back and regain the balance. No matter how much weapons we have, and how advanced technology we have, we can't protect ourselves 100% against the forces of nature.

The more logical thing would probably be to think that all disasters are just coincidences though. Some years, some countries will just have a lot of disasters in a row.

Yeah, there is balancing mechanism in human race, but we override those. In Africa we need to just let people die of hunger and on other hand in Western Countries of Diabetes and other diseases. Not very popular or at all ethical, opinion and personaly wouldn't like it either. Still disasters and such are one way to fix the overpopulation and limit certain areas livability. Now we are just out of balance.

Ah rule changes, anyway wasted my last coins so couldn't have kept round going anyway. Still, I don't like changing stuff without any notice, for those people you got email. Not sure if it would have been possible to inform those who have unfilled bit with email about change in rounds they are in.

Hmm.. People don't like change. It's true. If you go back through the thread, you'll see that there was notice.

What's your receiving address? I'll send you a gift.

-Jonathan

Un-noticed change, no need, I lost my share.

Just a suggestion: add Jackpot % in the list of games too, it would contain all needed info then.

795  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin MineField - 10%-2300% winings, fully automated, with cool technologies:) on: September 07, 2011, 08:29:38 AM
That's a really good point. I hadn't even thought of that, though I've only done so much game dev.

I had actually been planning on adding a little bitcoin image to the correct blocks, and some negative image to negative blocks. I'll be sure to add these before the release.

For me green and orange next to each other are bit hard to differ and some people must have it worse.

One extra suggestion, differ the chosen onces too? So player can see which ones he has "won".
