There is nothing unique about it Smiley
782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How would you introduce Bitcoin to your friends and family? on: April 18, 2015, 01:32:34 PM
The thing is if they don't see an option to use Bitcoin in their daily life they lose interest very fast.
You are 101% true! Bitcoin is declared illegal in our country  Cry! There's no place where I see "Bitcoin" leave alone "Bitcoin, Accepted Here"!
Even though I have introduced it to some of my friends they don't care at all! Maybe they don't care because "its not used anywhere" or its too complex to understand  Embarrassed
783  Other / Meta / Re: Are members of sig ad campaigns only banned or other members as well are banned? on: April 18, 2015, 01:25:26 PM
Personally I feel I am getting freedom to post when I don't wear a signature! But I have to wear signature to earn $$ Grin
For example:
When someone helps me or writes a very long post for my understanding, I feel like I must atleast say "thank you"! I can do this with no hesitation when I don't wear a signature but the case is different when I wear a signature! I cannot even say a short and sweet "thank you" for their time and effort. I am afraid that it will be considered as a signature spam and doesn't leave a good impression to people! Hey Macro, you are the bit-x sig manager, is it ok if I post a short and sweet "thank you" when I feel its needed?
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: April 18, 2015, 12:43:13 PM
"A picture speaks more than a thousand words!"
Picture really means something! And I don't understand why you think that they hid picture for security purposes? I recommend people to not invest in their site before they show us some pictures of their mining rig and prove that it's really theirs!
I believe in "Picture or it never happened."
Anyways, As I already said let's not talk on this anymore! If we continue, there will be a dispute and no good conclusion can be drawn Smiley

I love scrypt.cc and so far I trust Marcelo, but some picture could calm down a bit all of these bad voices!

Yes, it certainly will calm down "these bad voices"! At least mine Smiley

Wow ... First you state you don't understand cloud mining and then you demand something that is basically nonsense.   Pictures don't prove anything in this day of age.   It is worthless evidence.   Actually I don't think pictures would quiet you down.

Yes I don't understand cloud mining very well! But I can use my common sense very well! And asking for picture isn't nonsense! It wouldn't be any problem for them to take a snap and upload it if they really own some mining rigs! Don't know why you are not understanding me or why I am not understanding you! And for the last answer of yours, "Yes! If they show us some pics of their mining rig and prove that its theirs, I would keep quiet." Btw why do you even think they are hiding picture for security purposes? Noone is killing them if someone know they're mining! Makes no sense at all  Undecided
785  Other / Meta / Re: Are members of sig ad campaigns only banned or other members as well are banned? on: April 18, 2015, 12:36:36 PM
I think you are wrong! I know some of them who got banned:
Full member: Madness
Senior member: I guess there are many peple but I know none of them
Hero: marcotheminer
Legendary: Crazyearner
Even though hero members and Legendary members rarely get banned, they have got banned Smiley

Correct me if I'm wrong. They all are Sig ad campaign members except Marco who was banned for PM spamming.

No you're not wrong! Madness was banned twice for sig spamming and crazyearner's post were not constructive and majority of his posts were 1-2 liner! I haven't heard of any senior member getting banned since I joined the forum but I think there are many! Do you know any?

Btw I am waiting for theymos to implement this Cheesy
Yeah, I'm thinking that a good response to sig spam might be to ban the person for ~5 days and disable all but the most basic styling in their signature for 60+ days. (With times increasing for repeat offenders.)
786  Other / Meta / Re: Are members of sig ad campaigns only banned or other members as well are banned? on: April 18, 2015, 12:20:37 PM
The members are mostly Full, Sr., Hero members and still they are spamming. Mostly, newbies who are trolls get banned but I have noticed that these senior members aren't banned. May be I am wrong here.

It seems that users who didn't wearing sig would be banned too, but the odds to be banned is significantly lower than people with the paid sig.

Just leave that newbies alone, we shouldn't stop people from participating in this forum, right?

Yes, your're right! Spammers wearing signature are frequently banned rather than the spammers/newbies wearing no signatures!! We can never stop those newbie spammers! There are almost 250 newbies registering per day and almost 200 are used for making useless spams! Its impossible to stop them!

And the newbie in your example doesn't get banned nor does any person wearing signature will be banned for posting off-topic! If the person who is posting offtopic himself created the thread, it would be moved by a moderator to the right thread! Not necessary that he'll get banned!
788  Economy / Gambling / Re: girlbtc.com || new site || jackpot 0.01btc everyround || simple||transparent on: April 18, 2015, 11:49:32 AM
The game can be played with as little as 0.001 btc and fee is 2% , you can just give it a try with small amount and you'll see .
Am waiting for someone to play , i have opened up some 0.001 btc OnevsOne game.

I think this 2% fee must be lowered to 1% or less because the onevsone game seems same as PVP game at primedice! People would be interested to play at 0% fee at primedice instead of paying 2% to the house while playing at girlbtc's onevsone game! So if they want more people, the fee must be lowered Smiley
789  Other / Meta / Re: Define spam. on: April 18, 2015, 11:44:54 AM
The (modified  Grin) question is, if the participant is really taking the effort in making the post, and the post is constructive, but he is making it look so, and he is posting actually for the campaign alone, will that be spam?

I don't clearly get you! You are saying the post is "constructive" and you are asking if it is a spam! How can a constructive post be a spam  Huh
790  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a small loan. Urgent on: April 18, 2015, 11:38:35 AM
Loan request: 0.011 BTC
Collateral: A member account
Loan Payment Date: In 5 Days
Interest: 5-10% as per your wish
Address: 1HkS2uy1yZBQiX7M252Ej75SCAQyqemjyy

I can give you this loan. pls make a post on my loan thread here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1027098.0

Cheers!
This probably wouldn't be a good idea considering the fact that he is pretty clearly trying to sell the account in question as well as the fact that there are multiple neutral warnings against him

i will only give this loan to him if he can delete all the loan request he made and escrow can confirm that the account is safe from negative feedbacks.
The bolded part is impossible for an escrow to determine. The escrow can check for loan requests and can example the PM history if requested as part of the escrow agreement, however the escrow will not have access to deleted PM's and deleted posts which is where it is most likely scam related activity will be located.

As I mentioned in a previous thread that he was asking for a loan in, there is a good chance that the OP is trying to use a banned account as collateral and that is the reason why he is not using that account to try to get a loan (another possibility is that the account has made posts filled with giveaway and similar posts which would degrade it's value)

Even if his collateral isn't good, I don't think he will be interested in spoiling his full member account's reputation for just a 0.01 BTC  loan Smiley
Anyways, Sorry OP, I won't have any money until I get paid from the sig campaign! Good luck searching for the loan Smiley
791  Other / Meta / Re: Define spam. on: April 18, 2015, 11:31:21 AM
I suppose Spam post (supposing you are referring to "signature  spam") is anything you post just for the purpose of getting paid and contains nothing constructive. In simple:
Posts that you wouldn't post if you weren't getting paid but you are posting just because you are getting paid Grin

PS: This post is short but not spam because it contains my personal opinion Cheesy
792  Economy / Gambling / Re: What dice sites do you use? on: April 18, 2015, 11:18:40 AM
I often use SafeDice & DaDice
SafeDice have unique UI, good roll speed & variable house edge
DaDice have unique UI, good roll speed, level system & faucet (up to 12500 satoshi) Smiley

You also can try JustDice or 999dice (they use rigged gambling system)

Justdice rigged? You don't know nothing about provably fair site.

He certainly didn't point out to JD! He meant it for 999dice!

Anyways, here is some more:
Directdice (You win 10 BTC if you roll 101)
dicenow
rollin
coinchiwa
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: April 18, 2015, 11:10:03 AM
Since everybody knows that scrypt mining is unprofitable anymore and it is impossible to reach roi so quickly with sha256 - the only option I imagine is they mine X11 algo. But is it really so profitable? Why other companies don't do it if that's the case Huh

Simple answer! Scrypt is a Ponzi scheme! No matter even if they tell they're using quantam computers, you must be smart enough to realize early that it's a Ponzi scheme and not a real mining site Smiley

So you are just trolling.   You aren't even good at it.    This site has been running since Feb. 2014 and it has evolved a lot.

I am not trolling. I agree I am not very good at understanding mining concept but I can tell this through my common sense. A cloud mining site where I can't even see any pictures of Mining Hardwares? Obvious scam! No need of useless argument though! Its just like some people calling 999dice.com a scam and some calling it's legit! Noone knows except the admin Smiley

Pictures don't mean anything.  There have been plenty of scams with pictures.   There valid reasons for not showing pictures too, like security.

"A picture speaks more than a thousand words!"
Picture really means something! And I don't understand why you think that they hid picture for security purposes? I recommend people to not invest in their site before they show us some pictures of their mining rig and prove that it's really theirs!

794  Other / Meta / Re: A letter to the members of Bitcointalk forum... from a member... on: April 18, 2015, 10:23:54 AM
Whatever you do, even kill all signature campaigns, nothing will help, this forum had changed, yes, it's not that readable as before and full of useless comments, too many people who is not posting for what they want to say, they post for boosting up post counts.

A lot of old Bitcoiners left, this situations is particularly marked in Chinese section. In the past, you can read lots of high quality discussion thread in Chinese section, people talks for what they‘re interested, they really do, and you will be glad to come this forum and join discussion. But now, (In Chinese section) useless craps is everywhere, actually you would find the forum is not that readable as before.

If signature campaigns were to be banned, I believe the forum would change a lot.

Having been here when the campaigns first popped up and became huge (PD comes to mind), there has been such a huge decline in the signal-to-noise ratio on this forum. I used to find topics and discussions that were meaningful, insightful and interesting - but now a lot of the posts are just pure blather and unengaging. There was a stage when I could have a long debate in threads, now I make a point and no one bothers to reply, instead spouting the same old crap time and time again meaning that nothing new interesting emerges.

From a forum standpoint, I think it might have been too late to change things back. Most of the old guard have left - and probably won't come back (except from time to time) even with the removal of signature campaigns. Furthermore, without signature campaigns I can guarantee that a majority of posting would stop (which would be good for the signal-to-noise ratio as only actually relevant stuff would be posted) but the forum would probably slowly die.

There are only around (at most) 400 members actively participating in signature campaigns (just an educated guess).

If signature campaigns are removed or get extremely strict, the forum will still continue as it did before (think of all the service announcements, service discussions, good trading, lending, and gambling). Of course the forum would slow down, but not to a point of 'death', to a point of normality.

The Bit-X and DaDice campaigns need to be tough on people, I will play my part.

Some people just get enrolled in a campaign and post in threads with range starting from a few word to 2 lines at most! We all have done this (maybe not just for the sake of getting extra money for signature) but some people enrolled in the campaign just have majority of their posts with a few words and one liners (two liners in max). So a good move for both dadice and bit-x would be to maintain the criteria of certain number of characters like Bitmixer forevery post. Bitmixer has the limit of 75 characters per post or the enrolled  memebers wont get paid Smiley Same can be done by bit-x and dadice and in order to discourage spams, the number of character limit can be increased for the enrolled members who are found to be "signature spamming" Cheesy

797  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are so many people mean here?! lol on: April 18, 2015, 09:12:39 AM
Hi. Serious question. I'm new to this forums and new to a few coins I'm looking into, but not new to bitcoin. Any time I make posts or comments, someone always has something really pessimistic or rude or judgmental to say. Just doesn't seem friendly to new people or those who think outside the box. How come? Roll Eyes

Sad to say but I really think "Newbies" and "Jr.Member's"  opinion aren't valued by most of the people here. Lips sealed
They forget that they too were newbie once   Undecided

Anyways there are 25k+ people on the forum.. Each one is unique and behaves unique in reaction to different posts(stimulus Tongue)   Grin
You can use the "ignore" function if you find trolls or anyone who seems to be too "rude" for no good reason and it must go all good  Cheesy
798  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTS - My Account Sr. Member. Activity 322 on: April 18, 2015, 08:11:29 AM
so i hope this is the last bid from me, i would like to bid 0.21 for this

Didn't you just see OP is selling it for no less than 0.375 BTC?

I guess to make it more appealing I'll set it at 0.375.
799  Economy / Auctions / Re: BotWallet.com @ $1 on: April 18, 2015, 07:00:01 AM
Ok let me start! I bid $1 Smiley
800  Economy / Services / Re: Signature campaign!!! on: April 18, 2015, 06:46:41 AM
How to join signature campaign?

For now, please don't focus on how to join a signature campaign! Try to increase your rank and get to Full Member! After you get to full member There are different monthly campaigns(like Luckybit) and pay per post signatur campaigns like Bit-x, dadice ,Bitmixer etc. You may want to choose any one of them which suits you the best Smiley If you are an active constructive poster go for pay per post. If you can't give much time, Campaigns which pay monthly like Luckybit might be good Smiley

Here's a list of campaign made by Mitchell. Do check it Smiley
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

Edit: There are avatar campaigns too if you are interested Smiley
