7881  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Libertarian my ass! on: March 29, 2013, 12:22:10 PM
I suppose I should bear in mind that I'm sorta just waking up while reading this, but reading your post makes me think that you've had the cluster fucked teaching and been told all kinds of bullshit when you were young and now you're just discovering that people have different definitions of things and have different beliefs. Yes, people think Libertarianism means something else than what you think and yes, people think Anarchism means different things, they come up with their own archetypes of Anarchism and Libertarianism. This is partly because as well that you have to deal with all sorts of bullshit propaganda regarding certain groups like these so people seek out new names and identities so they won't be automatically grouped in with them. A perfect example would be conservatives, because people in that group have gotten sick of being labelled as women hating religious fanatics they've decided to label themselves more clearly as fiscal conservatives or free market conservatives and so on.

Welcome to the real world Rampion, the more you dig through history and facts the more you'll realise what you're told is all bullshit and you have to find your own answer, for me the free market isn't an adopt or die scenario, it's consent, as long as people consent to all trades out there and deals etc. by their own will then that's a free market to me. To be fair as well the free market thing you've described sounds a lot like the sort of propaganda that's cooked up by what I call Imperial loyalists ( yeah I know Tongue but I'm using the dictionary definition which works ) they love to make out that we're all heartless rich people only obsessed with gaining wealth and would leave people out in the street to die and so on, of course as most of us would say here that's a load of crap.

A lot of these people have never heard of charity organisations or foundations which I wholly support lol Tongue.

though they can maybe figure that out to.

I'd be glad to take part in the experiments for that! WINK WINK! Wink Cheesy

But seriously Tongue I bet they'll just adopt Bitcoin, it's not like a penniless government will be able to stop them.
7884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The correction? on: March 28, 2013, 05:59:09 PM
It depends on how you look at it, if you are talking about actual Bitcoins or the price of Bitcoin in paper money I think people confuse the two quite a lot, the number of Bitcoins is fixed, if anyone tries to change it or mess with it in any way then people are going to find out about it. As for the BTC/USD price, not only is the USD being inflated constantly driving up the prices of everything ( not just Bitcoins ) the supply of it is also not limited in any fashion. Regardless of this in the end no one person can dictate the value of anything which is why no matter what governments or central banks do people are going to be forced to pay more because it costs more to buy things if the volume increases and so on.

The kind of questions I think you're asking say to me that you're going to need to go do some research into economics, don't just look at the stuff that schools bring out, you need to look at all sorts of schools of thought like Austrian, Marxist. Keynesian and Hayek, these people all have different beliefs on how an economy should be run. What established western governments and central banks believe in is a form of neo-Keynesian and what happened to the Keynesian kind of movement is it got hijacked much like the conservative movement did in Americe. Regardless yeah, it looks like you need to go do some research because if I talk about it on here I'll spam the forum Tongue.

When I looked at all this stuff it blew my mind, especially when I consider how over-simplified and outright lying the school textbooks were when I learned about what happened to governments in the economic crisis and so on.
7885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The correction? on: March 28, 2013, 05:27:49 PM
A correction is usually a drop or rise in price to where everyone thinks the price 'should' be but the problem with this logic is of course everyone has different opinions, the housing market is a perfect example of this because the prices were driven up and continue to be driven up through lots of speculative buying rather than people buying them to live in. If we were to look at the prices of houses to find out the expected cost it would be things like how much it was cost to make, how much the materials are worth. Anything added to that is of course going to be the profit someone makes.

So in short, this is how these 'bubbles' and 'corrections' happen, it's because people out there are charging and selling for far more than the products or material is actually worth.

I'm optimistic for it but I think 2015 might be more realistic.
7887  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any Women Use Bitcoins? LOL! on: March 28, 2013, 03:15:56 PM

I love men, just wish there were more of them. Smiley

7888  Other / Off-topic / Re: Simple but huge tower case out there? on: March 28, 2013, 01:43:53 PM
That looks promising actually, I'll probably still be poking around though just in case I find something I like even more Tongue thanks.
7889  Other / Off-topic / Simple but huge tower case out there? on: March 28, 2013, 01:31:30 PM
So I've been researching computer components for awhile now and I have everything I want, I decided first thing I'd do when I get money is get a new computer built. There's just one problem, I've got all I need on a list except a nice and simple computer case that's large enough to have several internal hard drives in it and fit in a graphics card/motherboard that's big enough to make people go "HOLY SHIT!" when they look inside. Would you guys help me look for it? I'm searching about as we speak but all I see so far is these stupid 'tool free' ones which as I've discovered from experience is code for 'stupid and annoying rubber screws that don't fit properly in the hard drive and have useless instructions for using them correctly as well as flimsy plastic trays'.

So what I need is old school, a very large case that can fit massive graphics cards in and a ridiculously big motherboard and the hard drive trays need to be simple screw in ones that actually work, budget isn't really going to be an issue here since it's pretty much my dream PC Tongue. I'll keep having a look around myself but I'd appreciate the help.

*Not paying attention to thread and just masturbating over the £63 price*

FAPFAPFAPFAFAPFAPFAP

But seriously, I think above anything else it shows you just how much people hate central banks and what they do to our countries, it's one of those things where it's so universally hated everyone will immediately hop over to the alternative to prove a point and I think that's what's happening here.
7891  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cannot buy any more bitcoins UK on: March 28, 2013, 09:12:53 AM
If you guys have got Bitcoins you could always use them to get more yourself, don't just rely purely on the paper stuff now, you could even maybe look at trading gold and silver for Bitcoins too if you're into that sort of thing. Bitcoins are only going to get more and more expensive for the paper users from now on.
7892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Relationship Thread: G/F, Wife, Significant Other...etc... Tales... on: March 28, 2013, 08:58:50 AM
In hysterics over this thread to be honest lol and I'm single

Quote
You basically illustrated my point. One girl says "I don't think bitcoin will work", so a neckbeard breaks up with her instead of just being patient because "fuck anyone who has a different religious, political or technological opinion than me!".  Roll Eyes

I'm single and I've talked to people about Bitcoin, if anyone makes any stupid comments I just laugh at them because by the time they've spoken the value has risen again Tongue I haven't really talked much to the girls I know about it though because I don't think they'd be interested but the ones that I have have had the balls to say they don't know anything about it so Tongue Guess I just know intelligent girls, I can't stand the dumb girls with princess syndrome which is probably why I haven't got a g/f yet >_<.

7894  Other / Off-topic / That's it, whoever is writing these game storylines is pissing me off on: March 27, 2013, 05:13:41 AM
This is a rant about crappy writers, leave while you can

I just finished heart of the swarm today for the lulz and after getting through it I feel like I've been bitch slapped by almost every game writer out there in some way. If it isn't the loosely strung together dialogue or the non-existant continuity ( imported save games lololololololol they didn't even work ) there's always that fucking annoying and pointless cliff hanger ending they throw in just 'because' so they don't have to come up with an entirely new storyline and game universe that might be more interesting than the last one. Then there's the fucking multiple choices in games that have no bearing on the main story at all. Since it's at the beginning it's not much of a spoiler but why the fuck did the writers make me choose between gassing a room of Terrans or unleashing Zerglings on them? What was the point? It was like they were going "YES WE'RE GIVING YOU MULTIPLE ENDINGS SO CHOOSE!" and then later on they went "HAHA DUMBFUCK WE KNEW YOU'D GET YOUR HOPES UP TO THIS POINT!"

Oh god it's pissing me off, I think I've become desensitised to being disappointed and angry over being screwed by games developers but I think the way they keep ruining the storylines of original games is getting to me. Not only that, they of course changed the whole tone of the game, I don't care about graphics but it doesn't sit right with me that the entire art style has been changed to look silly and cartoony rather than dark and serious like the original Starcraft series was. The story well, I won't reveal any spoilers but honestly, it was just shit, I'm pretty sure they took one look at Warcraft 3 and took the same idea.

It's becoming a ridiculous problem now and it needs to stop Sad I'm sick of these shitty stories being written by people who clearly don't give a shit, I mean, I actually found out that Dragon Age 2 was written by some prat who didn't even like computer games that much, why the fuck do people take these jobs when they aren't going to do proper work on it? Don't even get me started on that obscure and confusing piece of shit known as Mass Effect 3. It also looks like whoever did the writing for heart of the swarm as well as wings of liberty decided to steal a few retarded lines from movies, probably to make it appeal more to the people they had envisioned in their heads rather than the actual fans.

Just send them a letter with a seal.

You should also make sure they burn it after they read it otherwise someone might pick it up in the bin.
7896  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UN Gun control.... GO! on: March 26, 2013, 05:34:34 PM
Why is it that politics are all that is needed for me to find out who the stupid ones are?
7897  Other / Meta / Re: Considering BTC exponential growth... on: March 26, 2013, 02:16:19 PM
LOL Tongue please, you paper bugs need to realise that's inflation at work, I'm thinking I'm just going to price everything purely in Bitcoin now and wait for the crash, it's only the USD that's really going up, Bitcoin is staying exactly where it is but that's also part of why it's so valuable now.

While I'm totally on board with this line of thinking that the actual numbers are arbitrary (though realizing that it's not just paper inflating it's also bitcoin deflating), $3800 will get me a really good computer. I was also thinking of donating but when I saw the rates I was like "fuck it, move along now..."

Well that's the thing about inflation, it's a temporary thing, you can cash out while the currency is still strong but eventually it will weaken and instead of a really good computer costing $3800 it the prices will be forced up to something ridiculous like $10800 instead. I actually had a talk with my parents and I was staggered when I learned how much they paid for their house, while it was a lot of money, because of how seriously inflated the housing prices are in Britain currently a house like this would cost easily triple the amount back in the day.

The best way to measure inflation is not only look at simple stuff like Gold or Silver but also the stuff that's pretty pricey because when inflation hits those prices make a noticeable change, I even remember myself back when games were all £9.99 or £20 at most and now they've gone up to stupid amounts like £30 - £40.
7898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have? on: March 26, 2013, 02:06:55 PM
Not much at all but now I can sell products for Bitcoin, I just need to make my products and then I'll be rolling in them Cheesy
7899  Economy / Economics / Re: Krugman makes some good points on: March 26, 2013, 01:40:14 PM
You cant have a flourishing  economy without credit

Is this beat into people during their training at the Keynesian Academy for the Performing Arts? I hear it frequently enough that it sounds like a political slogan.

Yup, what people like this don't realise if you have a deflationary currency then everything becomes so cheap you don't even need credit.
