7961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll, FinCEN Guidance, Good or Bad? on: March 19, 2013, 12:50:55 PM
From what I've gathered of the article, it looks like they're planning on targeting miners because they seem to think that's where all the Bitcoins will come from and if they shut that down they shut the whole thing down, failing to realise of course Bitcoins can be broken up very easily, but of course there is a lot there and there's a lot of PR speak bullshit going on.
7962  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am a certified Anti-Money Laundering agent. (AMLCA) on: March 19, 2013, 12:12:48 PM
Please, them trying to regulate Bitcoin is going to be like them trying to regulate Bittorrent, these guys don't know a thing about computers, I'll have whatever they put up bypassed in five seconds and I have no hacking knowledge whatsoever.
7963  Other / Off-topic / Re: hatred verbal abuse and threats of violence on bitcointalk.org on: March 19, 2013, 11:55:21 AM
There's an ignore function, why can't people like you ever figure it out? You're like people who complain about facebook 'bullying' and then forget there's a bloody block function.
7964  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $20,000 in the bank, should I invest? on: March 19, 2013, 11:19:05 AM
I wouldn't invest that much, I'd put in $1000 or something, I think you'd be much better off getting some kind of business running with that money while the dollar has purchasing power and then selling your services for Bitcoins instead, that way you're getting Bitcoins a lot cheaper and your money won't have been wasted or lose value due to any price drop.
7965  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Adam Curry & John Dvorak Bring the Hate for Bitcoin on: March 19, 2013, 11:16:47 AM
I'll tell you one thing, when I did bother to listen, it was like listening to my parents when they pretend to know anything about computers, exactly like that.
7966  Economy / Speculation / Re: MTGOX is manipulating BTC Value. on: March 19, 2013, 11:12:49 AM
but why would the competitor sell Bitcoins for less than they can get for them?

Theres ways to profit when selling at a loss

btc-e probably have a ton a coins in circulation (much more then mtgox) which gives them better leverage on the price. Its like I have 4000 BTC here selling at $46.7 but then 13000 btc on another exchange selling them at $44.2. The later would profit a considerable amount more because of the volume...

Selling at a loss is also a way you can get rid of competition that doesn't have many funds at it's disposal, everyone will go to the cheapest price and the people competing will go out of business because they can't afford to keep the prices so low. I don't think anything that shady is going on though but Bitcoins are getting very expensive for the paper bugs.

7970  Economy / Economics / Re: Swedish government's new crisis strategy on: March 18, 2013, 10:54:19 AM
LOL That's basically it though, I've always known the communist ideology etc. could work but it just couldn't work for humans, maybe robots perhaps or some other alien civilisation but not us because you basically need to give up the idea of owning anything or having wealth etc.
7971  Economy / Economics / Re: Swedish government's new crisis strategy on: March 18, 2013, 09:45:55 AM
What I find depressing is that these welfare schemes etc. could work but when these ideas get put in everyone including the people who voted for these guys get so spend happy and they don't care where the money comes from as long as they get it.
7972  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitspend has an amazing first week! on: March 16, 2013, 04:36:43 PM

7973  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Do you watch TV? on: March 16, 2013, 01:57:28 PM
I can't possibly watch the majority of television because I always feel the need to rant at stupid comments made by the t.v presenters or politicians.
7974  Economy / Economics / Re: Cyprus : Most excellent for Bitcoin on: March 16, 2013, 01:52:45 PM

7975  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can miners still mine Bitcoin after the 21 million Bitcoins have been mined? on: March 16, 2013, 01:37:24 PM
Ahhh, so that's how the transaction fees work then? Been wondering about asking about that and sure enough I won't be able to explain that to people who don't already use computers regularly >_<

7978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn Bitcoin from the comfort of your home on: March 15, 2013, 11:45:54 PM
How to make money in Bitcoins without compromising your PC to referral/ad based sites which I suspect are largely data farming operations:

. Learn a skill set in the real world

. Sell whatever services or products you provide with the skills you have learned for Bitcoin

. Profit
7979  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is bitcoin doomed to fail because of all the horders? on: March 15, 2013, 11:43:34 PM
Hoarders? You've heard of BitcoinJam right? If you feel that way then go lend your coins to startups and people there you filthy miser Tongue

I think it all depends on how the dev team handles it and the community remains pretty anarchistic Bitcoin will probably do well, but I'm feeling fairly cautious right now, I'm still betting on Bitcoin because it's a wise move and really damn cheap right now Cheesy, but when I can afford it I'll probably diversify into gold and silver.
7980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: End of Governments on: March 15, 2013, 11:35:29 PM
You don't seem to get the point he's trying to make cbeast, as long as two parties involved consent that is a free market, do you think the government could get all of those without peoples consent? The problem is of course the percentage of people who consented at the time all the spending started has massively decreased because people hardly vote any more and when questioned about this our 'leaders' just shrug and go "Yes it's a problem" then carry on as normal as long as they have a majority.

Going a little bit off topic here, but if we're going to talk about this mathematically I'll put it into perspective for you. I'm sure you've seen these 'opinion' polls which are made up of about 2000 people or so which morons claim represent the opinions of an entire country. Well elections are a lot like that except on a slightly bigger scale, if you have millions upon millions of unregistered voters or people who specifically choose not to vote and only a couple of million register and vote for a party then that does not mean that the couple of million people are actually representative of the country nor are their leaders.

Don't think just because you're told it's 'publicly' funded that it's the case, in fact with the UK in particular we have a problem of supposedly 'public' government services being outsourced to privately funded agencies because of cost and so on. Who do you think that the government hands out it's contracts too? Who do you think produces all the military equipment they purchase? The whole situation is so fucked up it's probably going to take historians several thousand years into the future even more years to uncover all the bullshit and propaganda that has been made by our governments to trick gullible people like you cbeast. You seriously need to start at least researching the things people tell you because you sound like how I thought when I was younger and believed all the bullshit I was told too.
