I'm for a scammer committee. Two or three trusted member or maybe more then you have an x of y votes to apply the tag. I already foresee too many problems with that, special interests could easily get people in who could tip the decision making process in their favour, I think when this place stops being a simple community where people gather and starts pandering to certain groups as I've seen happen many times in the past I'm out of here. I'm not pointing out you individually but too many times people like you come up with these 'great' ideas that the admins and mods get harassed with until they comply, when it's finally put into action everyone leaves out of disgust and the community is empty. A discussion board and a community should be just that, turn it into anything else to attract people who don't exist and you'll just end up in an oasis of topics that date back to several years ago

Looks like Finland is the place to go if you want to set up a legitimate company that takes Bitcoin.
LOL most of the companies I own have some bitcoin reserves or do trade with bitcoin. But my main operative company in Finland can not yet accept bitcoin, due to legal/tax concerns. The Finnish invention is that since Bitcoin is a commodity, it is subject to 24% VAT. Go to Estonia rather. That is a land of the free. In their language: "Eesti Vabariik" = Free State of Estonia. Well that sucks ;( Guess I was wrong then, looks like we've got some more waiting to do before we see any real move by the big national governments to accept Bitcoin.

. Pissing off governments
. Value
. Ease of use
. No stupid forms to fill out every time I want to do something with my money
. I can actually freely earn money with Bitcoin because of so many obstacles being taken away

... if you're thick enough to actually buy into one of these obvious scams then I'm just going to laugh at you I'm afraid. ...
Cool. May what goes around come around to all of us! If you ever do something stupid, (which of course you never would because you are so smart and will never get old or sick) i hope the people around you just laugh at you. lol I have done stupid things and people have laughed at me It always happens both ways though, what I'm tired of though is trying to warn people who should really know better and do their research before going into something new like Bitcoin then they inevitably come here blaming other people for things they've done.

If any noobs are reading this thread, just boot your client up and leave it running overnight, that's what I did, much easier than raging all day about having to synchronise You guys lol I remember when internet connections and Bittorrent were so slow you had to wait over night before you could download a full game, now it easily takes less than an hour on a fast connection.

Isn't it the Brazilian government that tried privatizing water? It made it illegal to even collect rainwater and drink it. If claiming the rain as yours to sell is not stealing, I don't know what is.
I wouldn't say that's stealing but more along the lines of what someone who was a controlling sociopath would propose because anyone with an ounce of sanity would know it's impossible to enforce that kind of law, you may as well try laying claim to oxygen.

If you were born in my household, play by my rules or leave. Clear enough?
I was born free. You will have to force me to "play by your rules", I'm not going anywhere. I'm not some pushover that you can just take advantage of, I am more than capable of defending myself. Clear enough? I like you ( totally meant as a non-homosexual compliment )

MTGOX has already been attacked a couple of times as far as I'm aware, the price crashed but then it gained again.

If you're living in a country with taxes, you are receiving the benefits of various public goods. If you don't think this is the case, go live in a tax haven - but if you're living in a first world country and not paying those taxes you are free-riding and morally in the wrong. Don't do that.
In my country most taxes are spent on war rather than public goods. I would happily pay my full amount if there were more libraries and parks rather than drones and bunker busting missiles. Just my .02. Maybe choosing your representatives better would work? PAHAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!! Someone on this forum actually believes we choose the people who claim to represent us?

I think one of the more annoying things you realise when you decide to switch the T.V on again is how there isn't any sort of countdown to let you know when the stupid ads are going to end.

Even if you don't include things like taxes governments find all sorts of ways to steal from you, inflation is the one everyone can all relate to but one thing that particularly pisses off UK people at the moment is the congestion charge ( you actually have to pay money to get into London depending on what type of car you have etc. ) and speeding fines. Now you could argue this is about safety and reducing congestion but the thing that's really devious about these fines and charges is that they charge just enough to make it painful but not enough to actually make any effect on the way people drive.
The way to think about the government indirectly stealing from you is a bit like getting into debt, you'll think you can pay off the first round but then it gets worse and worse the further into debt you get until it becomes uncontrollable.

*bashes head against desk repeatedly*
HOW DO YOU LOSE THAT MUCH MONEY?! I'm sorry, but you may as well have thrown it off a bridge, mining should never be treated as a real long term investment.

Every time I see blatant problems not being fixed, specifically in places like the games industry, that immediately affects the prospects of how well a piece of code is going to do. One great example is when I see glitches in MMORPGs which allow people to duplicate items and sell them over and over, now the developers 'could' ignore this but what's going to happen then? The problem will get worse and worse, everyone else will leave out of frustration because of the people abusing these glitches to cheat through the game and then they'll be forced to shut down.
It's the same thing here, every time a flaw is discovered in the Bitcoin code and it's fixed, that fixes up everything, the code is the infrastructure and keeps everything together, if they don't fix a reported problem then it's just going to get worse and worse until they couldn't do anything about it. Imagine if we had a problem where someone had found a glitch in Bitcoins code that allowed them to endlessly duplicate coins in seconds, that would be a disaster wouldn't it? It's in everyones best interest, even hackers and criminals to fix up Bitcoin every time there is a problem so the currency maintains its value.
Either that, if the devs decide to mutiny and completely abandon us, someone will provide an alternative because Bitcoin is of course open source.

I download shows I think are actually worth watching but that's it, I've ranted about this before but I think television rots your brain entirely, at least with the internet you can choose what you want to watch and not have everything else shoved down your throat. What still drives me nuts particularly is when the news pretends to know anything about computers and consistently report things that are just blatantly made up because they don't know how to do their research or anything like that. Stupid television! >_< It's kind of like school where everyone has their own pre-programmed path ( particularly teachers ) and they can't accept anything outside of the curriculum or exams, people on television also live in their own worlds and force it on everyone else. Nah, you're not alone

Who ever reads or obeys terms and conditions? I certainly don't, they're just there either as a veiled threat most of the time or to absolve the people who wrote it of any responsibility. We can't police the internet and protect people from their own stupidity, use the ignore list, if you're thick enough to actually buy into one of these obvious scams then I'm just going to laugh at you I'm afraid.
I honestly wish people would stop coming along trying to change the Bitcoin communities and Bitcoin itself so it suits their visions, if you don't like how things are done here, make your own alternate currency and site.
