What address have you been mining with? Some people have entered their addresses incorrectly into the miner, which unfortunately means you won't receive payment for the mining you've done so far. Best thing would be to check and make sure you've entered your address correctly into the .bat file without any spaces or line breaks. Also update to the latest version of the miner which adds a check to make sure the entered address is valid.

You can also check your address on arionum.info to see if a balance shows up there.

That's true. I often have to remind myself that crypto performance is based on the word of high-profile shills, get-rich-quick newbies, and market manipulating whales, not the coin itself.

Marijuana coins followed the same trend as every other altcoin during Bitcoin's plunge below $10k; red everywhere. Once BTC started to level out once again they continued to follow the trend and most managed to start going green again. The coming weeks will be very interesting, especially once California and others start reporting income from their recent legalization.

I'm a bit behind on news updates at the moment. Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time to make sure everything is current.

I'm pretty happy to see BitConnect drop to #100 on CoinMarketCap, and hope to see it fall further. It's nice that some people are finally waking up and dumping scam coins like that. However... Bitcoin Gold is currently #15 overall and the best performing coin in the top 30. It looks like you may have entered your address incorrectly.  If you start typing your address into the "Historic Shares" search box on the aropool.com dashboard you'll see the first part of your address come up. It seems like you might have accidentally split your address in half. Make sure there's no space or line break in your Auto-Miner.bat so that your address is in one piece.

Assuming you're running Windows, you need to install the openssl binaries (there's a download link on http://aropool.com/info) then restart your computer. After that you should be able to generate a wallet.

I'm a regular user of Reddit, but absolutely despise attempting to discuss anything crypto related on there. It's far too easy for shills and bounty hunters to manipulate the conversation through upvotes/downvotes, so it's often hard to tell whether you're receiving good information. Other than that it's mostly memes.

Given that the i7 and AMD CPUs I've been mining on combine for ~60H/s, I'd need over 2000 more CPUs to match that 70kH/s. Could someone be either setting up a botnet or figuring out a way to mine with GPU?

When the market bleeds, marijuana coins bleed right along with it. Most of these coins saw their value go down right along with BTC's dip as many would expect. Tokes became the center of much speculation which resulted in enough gain to offset the losses and level out nearly 50% higher than where it had been the week before.

The issue is that even though there are better coins for privacy/speed/etc, none of those dev teams are reaching out to create partnerships in the legal cannabis industry. You have to remember that the vast majority of the population doesn't really know what cryptocurrency is, let alone how to use it. So the teams behind a number of these marijuana coins have been putting in a lot of time to bring their crypto to the businesses rather than waiting for businesses to come to them. Maybe one day those businesses will look deeper and decide to go with BTC or DASH or whatever, but for now most of them are probably only willing to give it a shot with dev teams that actually communicate with them directly.

Absolutely. As detailed above, a few of these coins are developing partnerships and creating projects that will allow them to grow right alongside the legal cannabis industry. They're becoming spendable faster than even some of the overall top 10 coins.

But yes, some of them are shitcoins that will never amount to anything, just like 99% of altcoins in general.

If we're getting technical, Tokes was released in 2016 not 2017 (though near the end). Also Paragon and Tokes are both tokens, though some people use the term "coin" fairly loosely so that might not cut them out.
