81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has changed? Is it moving forward? on: February 19, 2019, 02:17:37 PM
we are having a very similar situation to 2014 but at a higher price this time since the adoption has grown in the past couple of years. the situation is after a bubble burst and the drastic downtrend that it has caused.

as for investment versus currency, i think that part is still the same too. both aspects of bitcoin have grown side by side. meaning there are a lot of people who see bitcoin as an investment which can only make them money while a lot of other  see bitcoin as a unique decentralized currency which is offering them a lot more than just profit.
so pretty much the same, only now there are more people in each group.
I was not here back when 2014. When cryptocurrency and bitcoin are coined as bubble burst. However, in this scenario, I feel like where are returning backwardly since many people lose again their beliefs in cryptocurrency. I do not know the root cause why crypto space goes down but it may lead to a big devastation once it will not cure and the market still not recovering. Bitcoin gives us a source of income and it was already proved that it changed the life of every people, either an investor or hunter.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Who controls the market? on: February 18, 2019, 11:59:31 PM
People controls the market. There is no such thing as manipulator than the people. Whales can manage it through conspiracy but not at all times. We, as a small investor know that the volatility of a certain coin refers from its usage. If there is a great development to the coin then it will be bought by mass but it is a suspicious coin then most of the people will not be interested to it. So, who controls the market? The people around it.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the obstacle of Bitcoin? on: February 18, 2019, 11:57:37 PM
the price of bitcoin has been changing dramatically, and many people have invested in bitcoin. And they get a generous return. these stories attract more people to join Bitcoin. in my opinion, this is precisely an obstacle. It is an obstacle for Bitcoin to be used on a large scale. It requires a stable value for a currency that is used on a large scale.
A lot of obstacles that bitcoin is confronting right now. There are many investors withdrawn their investment due to the fact that they are fear to be lose. Bitcoin needs development, it needs liquidity wherein all people can use it simultaneously without having a problem. Gas fees are still high and there is a congestion to the bitcoin network once many people are sending BTC. We need a stable coin and can be used in everyday life. I hope bitcoin adopt it someday.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: newbies since 2017 bullrun needs to learn on: February 18, 2019, 11:52:24 PM
Yes you are right. The incidents of new fake ICOs cheating investors and bounty hunters are rampant, and it seems it is unstoppable. So we investors and bounty hunters are those who are directly affected by such fake ICOs. So we must do something to prevent such malpractices from further doing harm. I think strict regulations are very much effective ways in this regard.
It is already there, we cannot stop them anymore. Eventhough there is a strict regulation in cryptocurrency, fake ICO still pass. Why? Because they can fake their documents at all. Maybe, there is no distinction in cryptocurrency specially to the fraud ICO but as an investor we should know their identity. I think having an identity of developers that we can see lively may help us to prove that they are true and serious with their projects.
85  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you share your trading experiences? on: February 18, 2019, 11:48:53 PM
In this situation of crypto market is better to do day trading by take profit 10 % to 30% and dont forget to use stop loss around 7% to avoid big loss.  For day trading use exchange that has high trading volume like Binance.  All price of crypto in the bottom now so is more easy to earn profit.  Learn more about trading plan and management of risk and money.
Stop loss is commonly used nowadays. Due to the market situation, most of the cryptocurrencies are suffering to a low volume and sales. Many investors are backing out because there is no profits in this industry. However, many people are still convince to invest and trade. I have no plan right now because I do not want to be defeated in trading and loss a lot. I just wait for the perfect moment when market goes up.
86  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Forex trading or crypto trading and stock exchange? on: February 17, 2019, 11:49:22 PM
Actually, it is better to join in these three different forms of trading specially if you trade for a long term period of time. I plan to trade in stock market because there is an assurance I will be paid back. Almost all cryptocurrency right now are on the floor and it might go up once the news thrust them. Forex has high volatility due to the numerous traders who play the market. They have different TA and trading strategy plan yet they have only one word to be given to us, that is success.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency has come to stay on: February 17, 2019, 11:35:53 PM
I really agree that " Cryptocurrency has come to stay"  another word that I like is "Crypto is the future". We all already realize that we can make many useful platforms which will decrease the cost of current typical type of the work perspective that we are doing. We will have up and downs but later or sooner we can see mass adoption for Cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrency has future. We just not see it today because of the market situation but it will become good once the investors return again. I am hoping that cryptocurrencies will be decrased by having a legitimate process wherein fake and fraud will eliminate. If that happens, cryprocurrency gains it trust to their investors again. There is a massive adoption of crypto in the world and it will stay forever.
88  Economy / Economics / Re: Expert Opinion about Cryptomarket 2019 on: February 17, 2019, 10:35:11 AM
it looks very promising, but all are just predictions and speculations, and the most important for bitcoin success is not predictions but real support. how to attract investors to support the bitcoin market.
I remember when 2018 open for us! A lot of speculation that said cryptocurrency will be boomed. However, it did not happen for some reasons. I think it might take a long ride before the market completely recover. Maybe, we can say that 2019 will be a good start for cryptocurrency yet it does not say that it gonna happen. However, I always expect for a bull run season because it skipped the year 2018 so, it might goes along this year. I just want to collect more and more tokens on my wallet so that I will harvest them during the bull season.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make Bitcoin more approachable to common users on: February 17, 2019, 01:14:49 AM
people should stop expecting bitcoin to be as simple and convenient as swiping a credit card. it's not just a payment method; it's a monetary system with built-in storage/banking, and a payment method all in one. that requires a nuanced economic design, including decentralized (inefficient and cumbersome) relay and validation. not many people but geeks can appreciate its beauty and utility---it takes price bubbles for most people to realize it might be important.

we already have sleek desktop/mobile wallets and hardware wallets that are user-friendly. what may help is the lightning network bringing faster and cheaper payments to users. right now, it's really only recommended for tech savvy users.

at the end of the day, most people aren't interested in alternative forms of money. many people won't bother until it starts becoming the norm.
Definitely yes! Bitcoin is not just a simple means of payment. We can make anything using bitcoin. In fact, it may be a combination of fiat, credit cards and virtual money. We can spend our bitcoin directly (near or abroad). Bitcoin already changed the payment method, however most of us do not want it to be used because of ignorance and fear that we lose our money. People use bitcoin not only to send money but it can be a storage of asset and source of income. There are many things we can do in bitcoin and it was invented for us to have convenience.
So, we should recommend it to every people around us and teach them that bitcoin is not a scam, it is the future of currency.

91  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reversal of Bear Market? on: December 22, 2018, 08:56:04 PM

I Still feel we got some room to grow up
i think it is not a reversal. It is just a hype. Bitcoin as well ss other cryptocurrency pump last days without any guide. It means that there j
is no more basis why they surge. It is bull trap, so I do not buy. I am afraid to lose again.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: December 22, 2018, 06:53:47 AM
I decided to quit ICO's. From December till now I invested about 5 eth into several ICO's. Invest what you can miss, this is what was able to miss.

Right now the first few of my ICO's have reached the exchanges. Most are under performing, but this is related to the overall dip (can be read everywhere). I understand, but ICO token economics have changed also.

  • massive hardcaps
  • most is sold in pre-sale to big investors, leaving scraps for crowdsale
  • much attention to marketing, less to working product or realistic time lines
  • immediately available on EtherDelta and IDEX, sure sign of little interest in token economics/future
  • no lock on pre-sale tokens, whales take their x2, x3 or x-whatever as soon as possible (I would probably have done the same). Prices drop to below ICO price.
  • too many ICO's without distinctive differences.
  • too many ICO's in general
  • too much tokens reserved for team/marketing
  • many ICO's don't even have a crowdsale anymore (which perhaps is a good thing as the little investors are protected this way)
  • ICO prizes are quite high. 1eth = 1000/4000 tokens is pretty common, but with a hc of 40 million, this will not easily go x10 or more.

I was 'unlucky' to miss out on a few ICO's besides the ones I was able to participate in. Afterwards I am glad, since I was able to pick most up at a fraction of the ICO price.

Important as ever: DYOR as not all ICO's have a genuine solution to a genuine problem. Some may seem like a fantastic solution, but often it is marketing combined with a strong team, and not so much a great working product.

And who am I? I am definitely a nobody Tongue, but still wanted to share my experiences and perhaps save people from thinking of getting on board of the next x100 ICO Smiley

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley
I thought you have the enthussiam based on your title but look at the topic you made, it was all cons to the ICO. You are right! ICO's are not profitable nowadays because of the market condition. However, if you have a perfect timing you can make a lot of earnings and happy life. Well, it could be possible once you got the top ICO when it comes to sale.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1.6 billion in gold vs 1.6 billion in Bitcoins on: December 22, 2018, 01:15:28 AM

People complain about the waste of electricity to produce Bitcoins. But it is unbelievable the waste of the various resources we spend or no we do not use to serve only as a store of value.
Gold is more valuable in bitcoin but bitcoin is more useful than gold. That is the logic of that two. We do not need to compare them both because they are all asset which have different usage. Bitcoin can be used in paying your liabilities, so on with gold. But it is more luxurious to see that you have gold than bitcoin.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Last quarter hope? on: December 21, 2018, 11:44:53 PM
I really don't see any changes on the crypto in this last quarter continuous price drop has disappointed everyone in this forum and the market has crashed. I don't think there will be a bull run this year.
2018 will be skipped in bull run season. In fact, it may take 2 to 3 long years before the market goes up. We cannot be profitable today so we need to stay calm and do not buy instantly. I am sure that whom will invest will get also a 90% chance of loss. December 2017 will be the greatest quarter of cryptocurrency for me.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does KYC gives you ? on: December 21, 2018, 11:41:20 PM
Hi.can someone tell me if KYC is ok ? what could be the effects of doing it especially in bounties/airdrops, they are requiring to pass KYC before joining
It gives me a public identity. I don't like to have KYC. That is a big no for me! Unlike with bounties who do not require it, exchange nowadays require us to make a 2fa or KYC. The problem in KYC is when they make our identity a fake so that they can imitate. I believe that we have a problem once our identity shows all over the world. We do not have privacy anymore.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $2000 to invest ? on: December 21, 2018, 11:37:19 PM
I have got have $2000 to invest and I am planning to invest it into stellar, ripple, ethreum or else half the amount in but coin and remaining half in newly launched ICO. Which one would be a better option?
It seems like a good opportunity for you OP to invest in cryptocurrency market today. However, we should be wise dealing with the market right now. Due to the dump of bitcoin, other altcoins move down also. It will be difficult for us to have a profit, hold or scalping are only the way to survive in a bear season.
97  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This will help to improve your trading on: December 21, 2018, 09:53:26 AM
Thank you for the tips you gave to us! It will benefit me in trading as well as other also. From the principle of trading we saw in this thread, we should apply them for the sake of everyone. Imagine, if we apply those tips that OP told to us. We will avoid those unnecessary loss in cryptocurrency trading. Thanks for sharing us.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: Some advices and references for a newbie? on: December 20, 2018, 11:23:29 PM
Try reading some materials on a website called babypips. I began there with my journey a few months back and it helps applies trading techniques. One thing to note is the website is for Forex but I think it applies to crypto.
babypips? This is the first time I saw it. Well, I do specific and reliable research about cryptocurrency. I always read some stuff regarding with blockchain and how they works for us. If we read and watch videos about this then we can also start to be profitable. Remember, cryptocurrency is a new work for us, we just need to be resourceful in order to see the open opportunity.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again, Bitcoin described as a Bubble. on: December 20, 2018, 11:18:50 PM
I do not anymore surprise in bitcoin bubble thing. Imagine, more than 5 years of speculation then bitcoin turns to a profitable investment. Of course, people will say a negative thought in bitcoin because the price can't control by the people. They just give their own opinion, based upon what they saw in the market.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DO WE NEED TO REGULATE ICOs? on: December 15, 2018, 10:52:02 PM
Well i say yes! Currently there are so many projects with similar goals and visions and some of them even don't have the needed capacity and resources to see to the success of the project but yet still competes with the capable funds when funds are being raised. This has also increased the number of scam projects in the cryptospace and this is really tarnishing the image of crypto investment. Let's not forget that if men were angels there would be no need for laws. I am not talking of a Centralized Regulating Body but we can use the concept of masternodes and run a decentralized ICO regulating body. Let's explore all the possible ways of how we can actually curb this menace in the cryptospace.
Yes we need them to be regulated. All of ICO around us seem to be a scam project and no one right now will hessitate to invest because they know that it is a trash for their portfolio once it hit on exchange. Maybe, when SEC regulates all of the existing ICO, all of investors will return their enthussiasm to invest and buy coins in ICO.
