81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP and The SEC on: December 25, 2020, 05:57:50 PM
Haven't done one of these in a long time. This week saw a BIG problem in the XRP camp where it saw The SEC and other "governing" entities crack down on their initial sales of it's token/coin and caused a major disruption in the sum of around a 30-40% drop in price. More added fuel to the fire is the liquidation of millions and probable billions on some books of XRP futures. One can only wonder what can happen next.. Is this the end for XRP or is this some sort of an interesting happening to make XRP a little more "centralized". As usual any thoughts or comments are more than welcome. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
Ripple has always been run like a corporate sector company or atleast this is how the majority of the community perceives it, so i think now is the team for ripple team to deal this matter with SEC professionally and come out with a solution as soon as possible because the project and the investor funds are at stake.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bitstamp will restrict XRP transactions for US users on: December 25, 2020, 05:25:10 PM
Bitstamp: XRP trading and deposits to be halted for US customers

In light of the recent SEC filing against Ripple Labs Inc., which alleges that XRP is a security, we are going to halt all trading and deposits of XRP for our US customers on 8 January 2021 at 9 PM UTC.

We will closely follow the unfolding situation and continue to adapt accordingly.

Our US customers will still be able to withdraw XRP from Bitstamp. Customers from other countries are not affected.

https://www.bitstamp.net/article/xrp-trading-and-deposits-be-halted-us-customers/
This announcement could be the reason of the recent crash in price of xrp. The price recovery was going well before this announcement which has really crushed the price again, in coming days more paltforms can make similar announcements so the price can stay under stress.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non successful projects find it hard to pay on: December 24, 2020, 06:59:44 PM
Are new projects supposed to be well successful today to pay bounty hunters their promised payment? If they raise huge amount of money paying bounty hunters won't be a big problem, am I right ?
It depends on a lot of factors but basically it depends upon the intentions of the team and bounty managers as well because I have seen projects with good funds raised but still deny sending rewards to hunters or keep making excuses on the other hand there are projects with small funds raised still they send the promised rewards to the hunters without any excuses so you never know how these people will handle hunters and their rewards.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP Price Dives After SEC Files Charges on: December 24, 2020, 05:58:41 PM
At the time of creating this thread the XRP price is $0.34 and it is over 30% down in the last 24 hours. The SEC has filed a lawsuit against Ripple and things are going to take a long time to settle because Ripple intend on fighting the allegations in Court.

------------------------------------------------
Here is what the BBC news website stated: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-55415350

Crypto-currency firm Ripple has been charged with conducting investments without proper licences by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC asserted that Ripple's XRP token is a tradable asset, known as a security, and thus subject to regulation.

The firm argues that XRP is a currency and therefore does not have to be registered as an investment contract.

The value of XRP fell by more than 30% on the news.

Feeling really bad for xrp holders as I have been through similar situation in the past when the dropil project faced the similar charges and my 2 eth investment went to valueless. I think SEC should be careful with such actions and make sure investors are not hurt and they should follow these things internally atleast till they think that things cannot be corrected.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A little word of advice is enough for the wise on: December 23, 2020, 08:18:53 PM
If you are still using centralized wallets like coinbase and others that requires email logins only it's better to move your funds to a wallet have give you access to your private keys or Mnemonic seed, do not be surprised if you are asked to pass KYC before you can withdraw your funds, even if coinbase go easy on users some centralized wallet may use this as a opportunity, if you don't know the difference between DEX and CEX wallet kindly go here to learn know

Yes, private and quality wallets should be the priority for safety and there is no need to store your coins in centralized or third party wallets other than when you just want to sell or buy some coins and then you can transfer the coins to your private wallet, thats it.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why when the BTC goes up the ALT goes down? on: December 23, 2020, 07:31:20 PM
Hi all,

I don't understand why when the BTC goes up then the ALT goes down?

Can someone explain me why?

Thank you
This happens mostly when bitcoin is dominant while when the market is ranging and volume is well spread across the market then both the btc and alts tend to move along eachother now I think the market is signally btc first mover advantage and btc is expected to move massively upwards and lead the bulls.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP - The Biggest Scam in Digital Currency History on: December 23, 2020, 06:33:01 PM
I would not call xrp a scam but I do agree with the criticism that they have been facing for years and unfortunately they have not taken any sort of action what so ever to solve the issues that were pointed out as a result of the criticism. I think even now if they somehow get clearance from SEC they should work on the resolution of the critical aspects.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New normal world will make crypto better on: December 18, 2020, 08:48:00 PM
Popular Cryptos are doing better than traditional investment. Whole crypto market is doing improvement during covid pandemic where traditional businesses are suffering a lot. So large companies, banks found crypto as better field of investment and thereby most of the giants have separate arms to handle crypto assets. They are adding cryptos mainly btc, eth, defi into investment portfolio. Good days are coming if we survive through Covid19
Now the governments as well as big business houses including the banks, mutual funds and other investment houses have accepted the fact that btc and crypto is the real thing to park money as the global fiat currencies are facing severe devaluation and wise money has now started to moge into crypto so we are all lucky to be here before these big players.
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought BTC at 23.5K$ on: December 18, 2020, 08:07:22 PM
By seeing the increasing in price rapidly I invested in bitcoin. Was it the perfect time? What is the prediction of price for now with reason?!
Not bad considering the bulls market heating up and expected over 10x gains but I will suggest you to hold for atleast a year for good gains and lastly I want to ask where were you? I mean you had the chance to buy btc under 10k for 2 to 3 years and you are buying now anyways good luck.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regret in cryptocurrency investment? on: December 17, 2020, 09:29:18 PM
After reading the headline, it will be extremely obvious that the biggest regret in anyone's life will certainly be not buying Bitcoins at $ABC rate or not buying Ethereum knowing its being traded at $XY rate. But let's forget that and talk about the reality. ICOs were golden time to a lot of people, including me. I can't have regret buying bitcoins in the beginning (when 10K bitcoins were used to buy a pizza) coz I didn't knew about something called Bitcoin but real regret is not being able to take profits being experienced.

That having said, my biggest regret is not selling ICON ($ICX) at the price of $10 (ATH = $12.64) which I had receive in ICO at the price of $0.11. Share yours!
My regret is wasting my precious btc and eth in icos back in 2016-17 when there was a big trend of icos but now when i analyse things, if i had just held onto my btc and eth i could have been holding good enough money to be free by now.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP dumped and BTC goes up, coincidence ? on: December 17, 2020, 08:45:36 PM
I have a theory, that some coins influence BTC price negatively,
In the past i felt that once XRP goes BULL, it stops BTC BULL
and now, i see once XRP was dumped after the airdrop, BTC went bull again

I do not think that your analysis is correct because the price movement mostly is influenced by the overall market conditions, sentiment and volume and sometimes on the individual performance of the project itself so do not worry much about price fluctuations if you truly support the project.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many projects still making tokens with such large supply? on: December 17, 2020, 08:05:04 PM
This has often been my question so far
We all know that if a project has a small supply, the price will be very expensive in the exchange, but why are so many new projects still making trillions of supply? do those who have a large supply don't want expensive token prices in the market?
Are they too greedy so that make a large supply?
Yes the total and circulating supply should be reasonable and realistic because creating billions of valueless tokens does not make sense, usually this is done due to fear of dump because the token value is already so cheap that any dumps will not let it look small while the gains could look big percentage wise.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC reached another ATH, what about ETH? on: December 16, 2020, 09:13:09 PM
If bitcoin made a new All Time High record now in the crypto market, do you think  Ethereum will also follow and break it's ATH last year January 2018 which is more than $1000?

We have always observed that if bitcoin rises in value, most altcoins follow as well. Even now that bitcoin has reached another ATH, altcoins are also increasing and now, market is in green celebrating the bitcoins new record.
The excitement and passion is coming back to the market which will lead to fomo and then price is expected to explode so i see huge months coming for btc and eth, do not worry about price now eth will definitely catch up.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub now accepting Monero on: December 16, 2020, 08:33:00 PM
A year and a bit after Verge bought its way onto Pornhub and not sure how many months after Tron bought its way onto Pornhub it finally happened. Visa stopped offering its services to Pornhub, so they were forced to seriously looking into cryptocurrencies and finally add Monero as a payment option.  I will not be surprised if after a year Monero become most used payment option on Pornhub. Why would people want their neighbours know they use Pornhub?

There were already accepting crypto ao I do not think there was a need to add more, the only thing they have done by adding monero is perhaps to give a privacy coin option.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Btc hit $20799, what is the next move ? on: December 16, 2020, 07:37:52 PM
Finally Bitcoin break all time high, what are you thinking about btc&alts price in this bull run.
I think this bull run is gearing up as the most epic run ever because every big investor and institutional funds are now fully flowing into bitcoin which is causing scarcity in the market which only means one thing and that is rapid increase in price.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Base protocol trying to rip bounty hunters on: December 15, 2020, 09:19:13 PM
The base protocol bounty manager didn't update the bounty spreadsheet for 7 weeks that the bounty was on and started to do so after the bounty ended. He purposely locked the bounty spreadsheet so participant can see what they were given and also restricted the bounty group that nobody can ask questions or talk on the group. And if anybody raise a bounty question on the main group, he/she will be immediately banned from the group. Presently bounty participants are left in the dark and do not know what is going on. They said they have calculated the spreadsheet and will distribute in few days but nobody has access to the spreadsheet and nobody can see what they were given whether their was a mistake in the calculation or not. Are they trying to reduce the bounty reward or trying to rip hunters off. I believe bounty hunters have the right to see their work and raise a voice about it, when it is incorrect.

This is proof

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1pUfczgpoecxrA4MHIaqKV9x8y0fT53d9ELsFjayPkUs/htmlview

It is strange to know that they have not updated the spreadsheets and now enforced the results without showing to participants this could be anything from bad intentions to reduction in rewards.
I do not know why people try to hide things especially when you can be transparent and get more trust and good reputation in the market.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB VS Eth - Invest in ETH since BNB is centralized on: December 15, 2020, 08:33:36 PM
BNB VS Eth - Invest in ETH since BNB is centralized

Eth is soon launching its version 2.0 but the fact is that that many blockchains are based in ETH, ETH is open source and less centralized despite the fact that binance has a working product (its centralized exchange) and its lending and dex platform. While the deFi will make the ETH bigger as you need ETH to lend the deFi tokens. So it is time to make your investment in ETH instead of buying BNB tokens which may fail anytime.
BNB has its own charm but i do agree with your point as binance is run like a private corporate company while eth is a truly decentralized blockchain ecosystem who has global developers working on it so my choice will obviously be ETH too.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to call the people into crypto on: December 15, 2020, 07:41:56 PM
The world is into technological advancement with high and intelligent development of digital platforms purposely to help and make human life into a convenient world.

Today, DeFi catch the mind, heart, or possible even the pocket of interested persons to grab the opportunities to invest. DeFi or known as Decentralized Finance will change the world perspective with regards to Financial matters which every household own some money and do transactions.

Do you think now is the right time to call the people into crypto world?
It is strange that you want all of us to bring people I think already people are waking up and buying coins and soon you will see its impact in the market, other than the common people big investors, banks and other financial institutions are also jumping in now because they have lost confidence in usd and other fiat currencies so they want to be holding deflationary coins which simply means billions in investment that will result in moonshot soon.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Active Crypto Scams? on: December 11, 2020, 09:30:50 PM
Hey all, what are some examples of some active crypto scams right now?

The biggest one I know of at the moment is Smartway Forsage. It's a decentralized ponzi scheme that exists on Ethereum.

Are there any bigger ones active right now?
Yes, unfortunately there are still a lot of ponzi based crypto scams active in the market. Most of them are ethereum based but recently there has been a surge in tron based projects as well perhaps because it is cheaper and transaction cost is also low. Untill everyone completely boycotts these obvious ponzis, they will keep popping up.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Apple co-founder and Blockchain Project on: December 10, 2020, 10:03:59 PM
Apple co-founder who have shown his interest into the blockchain years back have created his own blockchain company focusing on cryptocurrency and energy efficiency projects. This has attracted huge investors and the growth has peaked to 1400% in a very short time period. Initial price was around $0.1 and now it was found around $2.26, which is a big growth.

Source : entrepreneur.com
Apple is the top brand at the moment in the technology and gadget sector with millions of products sold each year. Infact it has become a household name in recent years, so such a success of new blockchain project from one of apple's co-founder was always on the cards and no surprise.
