You can say what you want about Monero, but they have managed to retain the top spot among privacy coins without any premine. Zcash has an effective 10% premine, maybe 13-18% depending how you weight their taking 20% in first four years. This isn't 2014 and I understand premines have become somewhat more acceptable in the age of ICO-scams and its aftermath, but I think there is probably a strong overlap between folks interested in privacy coins and those interested in a fair launch. Regarding premine just want to mention - you never know how the current leader of Monero would launch this project(if he had a chance), because as you know Monero was not launched by him. ProgPoW increases power consumption over 130% in comparison to WK. This is absolutely not needed for a 7m market cap project. Memory hardness was good enough already and ASICs wouldn't have been created for years to come.

Power consumption is just a part of the coast of mining(the other part is hardware coast) and will be nearly the same for all miners, it just a part of the coin price factors. And my goal is not to make coins which is cheap to mine (and actually, expensive mining will pull up the price). My goal is to have PoW hash function which is perfectly fit to modern video cards presented on the market, this strategy proved to be effective. WK2 from this perspective obviously less protected, and you being insisted so much to stay with WK2, expect me to make this project fit your particular farm or give you a chance to have private miner with performance advantages over the others? -------- I can remember some engineers, like cbuchner for example, who was doing "killing" with the private optimized miner which they implemented, and this was painful, and was big pressure on the price, and was a lot of FUD because of this, but I respected these guys, they were pretty open about what they do and never pretended to be good friends of the project. I pay .18 cents a kw. Progpow maybe unmineable. Wildkeccak is the way to go.
The main factor in mining is the electricity .... nothing else. The only problem with wild keccak is that memory hardness itself seems to be not enough to have relatively strong PoW algo in this days.

What is max supply? Is there any ICO where are all the coins how they came etc. I were really surprised to see you havent filled the thread with pictures and that's from scratch. Will be around for a while I'm sorry about the confusion, we working on this headers right now. Brief info: Supply will be the same (or nearly the same) as in Boolberry, about 18M coins. We were never doing any ICO, it's old school cryptocurrency, originated from Boolberry, which coins will be swapped into Zano. Hello All: Would someone please be helpful and List a step by step instruction on how to set up a "solo mine" for a brand new A9? I am running into a few errors, such as how to get a server and then set up the miner. I understand that I probably will not make any money, but that's not my intention. BBR CoinswapWhen Boolberry was initially launched, no pre-mineable coins were made available. We are aware the all BBR supporters and coin holders were interested in the project the way it was at that time. So, to make sure the rules are fair for everyone, we decided to provide all BBR holders with an option to make their own choices in terms of swapping BBR for Zano. However, the whole ecosystem of modern blockchain projects has massively changed over the past few years. Staying competitive progressively becomes more difficult, requiring highly qualified developers, software architects, marketing specialists, etc. Massive expertise in the field is crucial to provide the customers with a product that is efficient and easy to use for anyone. The actual output key of this transaction is zero, so after the coinswap the BBR coins are no longer possible to spend. What about Boolberry? We will continue to maintain and support Boolberry, as well as copy a few minor features from Zano. For example, an updated GUI based on qtWebEngine, an optimized compact wallet, and more. Solo mining right now is something that doesn't make much sense - miner that right now "inbox" with daemon is working in "light-mode", which is not effective for mining (light mode is a memory/performance tradeoff). It's ok for testing whole core and connectivity part, but hashrate is 1/1000 of what is supposed to be. Also, the way builtin miner made at this moment doesn't let it do mining by using multithreading advantages (and we even has a ticket for that in github), at this moment it's not a priority compared to other tasks. After many consultations and digging in different technical reports, following different meetings, including last Ethereum Core Devs Meeting #57 (https://youtu.be/GQ0kbH0iSfI?t=1406 ), we decided to chose ProgPow hash function for Zano. This hash function have been reviewed by many experts, passed few audits and considered to be one of the strongest PoW hash functions existing at this moment. We going to integrate this hash in Zano codebase, and hopefully we can launch new testnet based on ProgPow before this weekend.

We going to launch first public test net in January and then if stress tests passed well then we gonna launch production in Feb Dear friend When will BBR holders can swap from BBR to Zano? The conversion rate is 1:1 or ... and how long it takes! My friend, as long as nobody knows the amount of created zoin coins, any specific conversion rate does not make any sense. If the distributed number of zoin coins is around the number of bbr coins, then it makes sense, but nobody knows. I just wonder why do people talk here about Zoin?

I've restarted new testnet (CURRENCY_FORMATION_VERSION 76) but new binaries are not ready yet since we have some problems with Jenkins server. You can re-build from sources but make "clear" before you build, please. What's new: 500Mb scratchpad with light mode(actually light mode only right now, even for mining), new difficulty adjustment algorithm(as it was discussed recently)
