81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | EMPOEX EXCHANGE IS CLOSING | UPCOMING RELAUNCH on: November 30, 2017, 05:35:20 PM
May I suggest switching to same algo as ZEN or XMR and going a similar way? If you lack skills and knowledge on running servers and securing communications, - let me know.

Not sure about the algo. Personally I think that "pure anon" digital currencies will face some issues in near future. Same goes to ETH-based tokens/coins. I am confident that they have bright future, but I'm not confident if they will not have more failures. We would prefer to have a working coin with proven technology, because this is one of the things that it matters the most - to work.

Best approach on this for you would  be to start the new coin from scratch in the new algo, introduce the features like masternodes and secure nodes, maybe even delegated nodes alongside that, then do an airdrop of that coin only to failcoin holders representing either the exact same amount of coins as their fail wallet or an agreed percentage of the fail holdings.

I think that's our biggest issue now - how to approach with this. Starting from scratch and introducing features is the "easy" part. How to reimburse current FAIL holders and meanwhile build confidence in our new investors, is a hard one. We are well aware that we have a small group of people and we can "easily" say "Well guys, I'm sorry for you, but we need a fresh start" (translated to: F* off, we can't continue this way), but this is not who we are. It doesn't matter if we have 3-5-10 people (apart from the team) who are following our "progress", what matters is that they are still here, even though we haven't delivered for quite a while. You can't buy this with money and they have our full respect!

If you make sure the specs of the coin are not over the top, this will bring a new life to the community.

Hit me up - I am interested in helping you put at least the idea together.

Not sure what you mean with "over the top". As I said we want to deliver something proven. As we Bulgarians like to say - "There's no need to invent the hot water". There are already tons of people who are working on digital currencies and we can use what they have delivered so far + adding our own unique features, which most likely will be within our wallet. Apart from this - any help is appreciated, but personally I prefer to have closer communications with people involved in the project, so feel free to discuss this in details via chat, mail, social medias etc...

P.S. None of the above will work if you don't rebrand either. No business is going to take the name seriously at this day and age in the crypto world

That's out of the question! Smiley Well, maybe we can think of changing the name of the coin itself and use some synonym, but developing it as FAILCommunity stays. When we deliver our "whitepaper" (this would be more like explanations of our visions, not some technical details of the coin) people will understand us better. I do realize that we need more than this, because many of them will just avoid us after only seeing the name, but we'll try to make them think about the usage FAIL can have.

Cheers,
Spartak
82  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am looking for more info on InternetCoinExchange on: November 30, 2017, 06:50:59 AM
Hi Spartak,

The Internet Coin Exchange is a verified scam. As you can see in the comment below the following review: https://www.scambitcoin.com/internet-coin-exchange/, many people have been scammed by them.

I personally know 3 people who invested with them. The first one who introduced the exchange to myself and my friends, invested one million dollars with them. Her balance now is more than 2 million dollars, but she cannot withdraw the money. Not even reach Adam Chodrey, the owner of the exchange, who seem to have fled Canada, where he was residing before.

Before she knew it was a scam, she recommended this exchange to two other friends of mine. One of them deposited a rather small amount, just a few thousands of dollars. He managed to withdraw. My guess is that this scammer wanted to appear as withdrawals are possible, and since it was a small amount, he didn't mind as long as it portrayed him as a legit exchange. My second friend deposited several tens of thousands in USD, and his money is also stuck in the exchange.

Adam Chodrey "made an appearance" in the above blog post, and posted a few comments using a fake name and email, alleging that the exchange is legit and that he is a happy client. I don't know any happy clients who would write such long and detailed comments.

Complaints have been filed with the FBI and the Interpol and a cyber investigation is currently underway, and if you were scammed by Adam Chodrey of the InternetCoinExchange, I urge you to share your story below in this thread to help warn the cryptocurrency community about this scam.

Hi,

The victims you are talking about are from a country starting with M...

My goal here is to see if there are others.

Spartak

Noone will mine a worthless coin at this difficulty. If you are changing the code, best you change the algo and add masternodes. otherwise this coin will live up to its name

Well, the difficulty shouldn't be high as the current hashrate is about 2MH. As for the changes - not sure if it'll be scrypt again, but it won't be something as Ethereum, not at this moment.

Wallet isn't syncing. Anyone got active nodes?  Smiley

Hey,

You can check for active nodes here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/fail/

Anyone else have this problem?

Cheers,
Spartak

Where do I find active nodes on the blockchain explorer?

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/fail/#!network, then select the node list option

HTH
Regards

Thank you for your reply!
I added the nodes to my .conf file. The active connections are frequently changing from 12 to 0.
My wallet is still not syncing to the network...

My failcoin.conf file.

Hey,

Try to add the active nodes only:

I guess we need more nodes to strengthen the network, or perhaps more miners...

ok.. thank you.. but you have a date for relaunch the money? I have some money in my wallet

Hopefully by the end of the year.

P.S. We won't relaunch money, we will (most probably) relaunch FAILCoin.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | EMPOEX EXCHANGE IS CLOSING | UPCOMING RELAUNCH on: November 01, 2017, 05:19:57 PM
empoex is closing.. please can you list FAIL in other market?  Coinsmarkets is a little market type empoex

Hello,

FAIL will be listed on exchanges after the relaunch. We can't tell which ones though.

how many tokens in total are you issuing?

~42 Million, but it'll take 10s of years to get there. Currently there are only ~1.437 Million coins.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARCO] AquariusCoin | The water of crypto | NO premine | on: October 29, 2017, 04:49:40 PM
There's a quality water outside Slovenia as well... Smiley

Who said they need to be transported? Adam is living there. Smiley

In that case i better start planning franchize  Wink

The only thing, which is a problem are funds. Apart from that we can reach to 10+ countries around the world. People we have there can just buy some water and put the ARCO logo (which we can send via... email Smiley) on it and there you go.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | EMPOEX EXCHANGE IS CLOSING | UPCOMING RELAUNCH on: October 29, 2017, 03:17:29 PM
Thanks for your reply. I support the new trend in FAIL development that has been proposed. For example, perhaps we could connect with travel agencies where people would have some discounts when traveling (travelercoin) using FAIL for that.

I don't think it suits us. I'd like to think that if Bitcoin is the Movie industry, then FAIL could be its Comedy genre. But not only that. We will seek for partners, which are also involved in social experiments, fundraising etc... Think of it like this - we would like to participate wherever there's some fun, failure, struggle or just a way for raising awareness of a certain issue in mankind.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | EMPOEX EXCHANGE IS CLOSING | UPCOMING RELAUNCH on: October 29, 2017, 02:40:06 PM
well, I still have 69k fail since last hard fork, now what am I gonna be left with after this one?

Hello,

Frankly speaking, we still don't have answer to this question. Why? There are number of reasons:

1. Personally I have about 6.7 Million coins, which represents probably over 35% of the current (real) supply (many coins were lost by other people). Our main goal is to have as much partners as possible and offer each of them a % of the coin. These coins will be provided by me alone... for free. But how many people are willing to trust me? Majority of the people would think: "These guys are in control of many coins and there's no point to invest in this one". They will probably think we will dump them at some point.
2. There are some other members who also have significant holdings of the coin, which leads to my previous concerns.
3. As I previously noted - many coins were lost (I'd say at least 4 million), which is a problem. We don't have a clue about the real supply and this is why we've decided to make another hard fork (and better - relaunch). Personally I HATE hard forks and relaunches, but we don't have a choice here. Yes, we can do yet another swap, but then again, what happens if our team still holds like 50%+ of the coin (I would assume that many people won't participate in the swap and we will lose even more coins)?

Now the issue with exchanges. If we want to be listed on Cryptopia and C-Cex (for example), then we'll have to pay some $60,000, which is a hefty sum. We're not exactly Roger Ver... Bittrex is a very long shot and I spoke to Bill several times, but thing is that now it'll be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to get there. We will do everything to prove we're serious, but sometimes this is not enough. Exchanges care about their reputation and their income comes from trades. We can't exactly promise that FAILCoin will have millions of $ in trade volume, even though we strongly believe it's possible.

We tried to work without asking for money, but I feel like we are a bit late for this now. This is why I am thinking of a new relaunch + ICO (with rules, which should make it looks like a donation) and people who currently hold coins (including our team) to be compensated at a fair price. From there on, we will use portion of the BTC we will eventually raise to buy as much coins as we can. A premine is also considered, because mine and our team's vision about working for the coin itself (i.e. not to work for BTC or whatever) still stands. And we will also want to have coins for a future partner, which means we MUST control a big portion of the coin. That premine could be in the hands of an escrow or whatever - I don't care about this.

can you also please consider implementing secure nodes just like zencash is doing? it would be an amazing addition to the network and another source of income for network admins to run the secure comms

This is one of the easiest parts. I said it number of times - Panoch can do pretty much everything and he's one of the best coders out there. All he need is some time and he can do whatever we feel is good for the coin.

Hi. I follow the story about FAIL from the very beginning (and I have it), but maybe the name itself should change or define it differently (for example F.A.I.L - Future Artificial Inteligence Level or something else), maybe the name "FAIL" is too repulsive for peoples (they may be superstitious).

Hi,

Nah, the name stays. Smiley If you really follow FAIL, then you should know that we want to develop it as a FAILCommunity - a community with its own digital currency. FailArmy is also a "repulsive" name, but we all know how successful they are. We will try to get them as partners btw.

I'd like to hear your inputs guys.

Cheers,
Spartak

That's a very good approach, Jure. This is one of the reasons to propose "the water of crypto" slogan. Wink Soon I'll try to join as well and support financially these initiatives. Next April (I believe) should be also the 3rd CoinFestUK, which is organized by Adam (batesresearch). Providing ARCO water for such events can bring a lot of awareness to the coin.

Cheers,
Spartak

Yes mate. He and Jure offered their help long time ago, but I'm not sure how is krile with the time lately. Panoch promised to get this finished and I trust him completely. After that they can collaborate with krile as they're both good guys and developers.

We're almost all still here, bro. Smiley FailCoin's and FailCommunity's logos are pretty much ready and same goes for the wallet design. Maybe we should be ready for the hard fork sometime next month. After that it all depends on Panoch and, eventually, krile.

99  Economy / Speculation / Re: I've noticed something strange on: October 12, 2017, 07:09:27 PM
I believe my thread makes more sense now. Bitcoin is skyrocketing and alts are being dumped.
I kinda expected Bitcoin to shoot up a lot once it really broke the $5k barrier. It had been stuck just under it for a long time now. The same happened at $3k, and the same happened at $800. If it follows the same pattern, that would mean $8k soon.

Yes, but this time alts are being dumped harder than before. Myself am holding alts only and I can tell you that I don't like my current balances. Smiley So far only LTC is performing well vs BTC, but this was expected.

You should know better from past.

BTC will get in Newspaper headlines and evening news. New horde of people will jump in and start buying BTC.  Few weeks latter part of them will start looking around the Cryptospace and will see your altcoins and price of those will double.  Happened few times only this year.  So just chill out and enjoy the rest of this decade. Not need to do anything really.

I need/must! Day trading and accumulating coins in which I "trust". Wink
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The future of altcoins on: October 12, 2017, 06:53:02 PM
In short: there's no future for altcoins, not like it was before.

Lately I'm not paying much attention to news or the threads created on bitcointalk, but in my opinion we're witnessing what I was expected to happen: Atlcoins and ICOs are destroying each other. Several years ago you could have launched a coin, make some fancy logo and promises, and voila - you make easy money. But back in the days there were no 100s of billions $ involved on a monthly basis and scammers were not affecting the market this much. How about ICOs? I'll call these guys "dreamers". They are a hybrid/crossbreed between a scammer and people who think that they will change the world. And whats even worse - many people believe in that.

Nowadays you can pretty much raise millions of $ in 5 seconds on "ideas", which (if you at least try to think harder) doesn't have a practical use. And when the time proves it, the ones who took money for their "ideas" are saying "We tried" and the masses are dumping. But you don't have to be a genius to see that this "system" is already exhausting. Also, you don't have to be a genius to listen that the word "regulation" now sounds louder.

Guys, only several altcoins will stay, because this is what I also expect to happen:

1) Bitcoin is already regaining its dominance and it is a matter of time to explode ($5300 is still a joke).
2) Regulations are coming and most of the alts will die.
3) People won't be allowed to launch new projects, even if they have invented the tap water.

I will try to speculate and state that soon there will be no more than ~50 digital currencies.
