1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Geth bug cuts in half Ethereum's hashrate on: September 22, 2016, 06:25:30 AM

Honestly i haven't checked it myself every and each of these projects but from what i've checked:
1. Digix offers something the world needs, easy way to buy gold.
2. Akasha, decentralized social media, we've all seen that censoring is really bad, especially in countries with 3rd world regime and mentality, like russia, china, every other dictatorship, etc......

When did China and Russia become 3rd world regimes?  Maybe you should add America to the list for its police state? They love to execute there citizens in the street and post it all up on social media over there in the US... not forgetting that it is also a corrupt crony capitalist dictatorship.  Are you one of these deluded exceptionalists that think they are better than others?

Fuck, I am Bulgarian and this classification puts me in the evolution stages somewhere between amoeba and diplococci.

Why you are bumping this old and pointless thread? Just let it die... unlike Litecoin.
1083  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DeOS (by Razormind) is most likely a scam! on: September 21, 2016, 05:51:34 PM
Hey thanks a lot for bring this thread up. Yes, I did send some bits to test them out. Thank God that I just send 5 usd at first as DEOS was my first ICO. I had to wait as I had run out of funds and then these guys keep changing there terms like first they said there is no minimum amount then they said no dust. Minimum 1 BTC. I backed off and I can afford to loose 5 usd  Wink

I am well aware of trollers who would like to come and troll about this 5 USD investment. Fuck go ahead, who cares! from the place I come from, people are quite happy if they get 1 USD per day.

But I do pray that someone will help those investors who have invested 0.1BTC and above but less than 1BTC. I don't expect the multi sig wallet key holders to help. I mean who the hell knows these guys were working together to horse fuck innocent investors...I guess it's each man for himself..you invest money in bitcoin that you can afford to loose in the process...

Seriously, all senior users of bitcointalk, esp the ones who fight scammers, pls do something if you can. Appreciate everything you guys have been doing. Thanks.

The ones who will eventually mock you about these 5 USD are bunch of brainless and hypocrite douchebags. Don't pay attention to them.
1084  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DeOS (by Razormind) is most likely a scam! on: September 21, 2016, 04:03:57 PM
Nicely done Spartak, but I won't be holding my breath while waiting for CT to get a conscience about the willing part they play in all the scams that they promote.

Well, I don't blame them since the articles is probably their main source of income. Moreover, scams are sometimes very hard to be revealed on time so... I agree that they should not post articles about some shady businesses though. That is why I told them "Scams should not be promoted, no matter how much they are paying".
1085  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DeOS (by Razormind) is most likely a scam! on: September 21, 2016, 03:31:32 PM
I'm a relative beginner to crypto, I saw the Cointelegraph article about Razormind and assumed that it was legit, didn't do much research and only invested a very small amount during the bonus period.

Thought as much. Cointelegraph are utterly shameless when it comes to promoting scams. They must be directly responsible for tens, if not hundreds, of millions of dollars-worth of bitcoin being stolen through their persistent use of fraudulent 'sponsored' articles, banner ads and generally shitty journalism. Promoting services and platforms for which even the slightest of efforts towards due diligence, or even common sense for that matter, would serve to prove them as being suspect.

They appear to be devoid of ethics or morals. I've tried getting them to pull articles or ads that are already proven to be criminally fraudulent scams but they just don't give a shit.

During the research and exposure of the facts of this case I was able to convince a number of ethical journalists to pull the PR puff-pieces Jawad and Phil were trying to con news agencies with. That's the difference between Cointelegraph and actual journalism.

Actually, Cointelegraph just replied us and they will make investigation on the subject.

Well, FailCommunity does not have Chinese members and I'm trying to find for over a year now. Take a closer look of the project (if you are interested) and let me know if you want me to contact you on Telegram.
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin implementing confidential transactions on: September 21, 2016, 02:15:30 PM
It is a start for Litecoin, but Litecoin is going to have to deal with its effective 4 MB blocksize limit every 10 min.

This is assuming there isn't a repeat of the ETH/ETC fiasco.

I find it odd that after several years of the claim that "Litecoin does not need development" there is now an attempt to include privacy enhancing features. What happened?

Why the change of heart?

Block size limit is an issue, but so is not having a tail emission to incentivize miners after block rewards hit 0.

I think the statement that years of claiming "Litecoin does not need development" has occurred is somewhat misleading. It comes from a single tweet from a conversation between Charlie Lee in a conversation with user Darth Camel (December 2014). What Charlie actually said was "LTC doesn't need development right now. Adding gimmicks does not help a currency succeed. Liquidity, merchants and users does".

The conversation was between an individual looking looking for more positive news for litecoin such as being added to coinbase. Charlie Lee goes on encouraging him to find ways to contribute to litecoin rather than just expecting others to make it happen.

This statement has been used for years, taken out of context and is just another example of how special interests will use a simple sentence to mislead those interested in cryptocurrency but unwilling to do any research. The fact is Charlie never said "Litecoin does not need development" and was primarily trying to make a point about adoption. It still remains true that liquidity, merchants and users are needed for adoption in general (of any coin).

Here's a link complete with a inaccurate title to bait the reader (what a surprise from cryptocoinsnews.com) for those interested in the truth:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/litecoin-creator-charlie-lee-claims-litecoin-not-need-development-says-adding-gimmicks-not-help-currency-succeed/

I saw that tweet and I've used it number of times, but I don't remember if it was back in 2014. Charlie Lee is indeed implying about adoption and that is what is the most important part of the digital currency's evolution. The fact that several things are proposed for the LTC development doesn't mean that Lee is giving up on his words, it's in fact the opposite.

In the mean time, retweet! Smiley Even Charlie Lee did. https://twitter.com/FAILCommunity/status/777822871154483200

Good coins (LTC among the greatest) must be supported, no matter if you (don't) "invest" in them and/or hold some.

EDIT: Whoever talks bad for Litecoin is a hypocrite to me.

you are going to be happy buddy, chart is looking great:

Yeah, right. Cheesy I do not own any XCP and btw there is a downtrend as we speak.

Here we are now, always unzoom your chart... I hope you went in in that pullback... I am now out, won't break the bigger scale triangle now probably... if it does, let's hope for another pullback  Roll Eyes

Nah, I don't do trades for quite a while now.

Why that ? got burn ? I trully advice you to read as many books as you can on trading (like alexander elder trading for a living, good start) or you would continously get rapped there.

No, I got "burned" by not buying or selling too early. I've almost never lost on trades with alts. Point is that I was working with investor which kinda screwed me with my salaries and I left them our entire crypto portfolio (except FailCoin, of course). Wink

1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Geth bug cuts in half Ethereum's hashrate on: September 21, 2016, 12:31:13 PM
You can see that in the following effect: when an exchange gets stolen, bitcoin's price drops.  When there are technical problems on the block chain of ethereum, that hint at possible exploits and so on, this hardly affects the price.  This illustrates, IMO, the fact that what mainly determines the price of these coins, is the reliability of the IOU on an exchange, and has almost nothing to do with the underlying block chain these betters don't really care about.

^ This. Whenever tanker spills petrol in the ocean, or VW produces faulty engines, the prices of their stocks is failing. What happens with Ethereum has nothing to do with the great technology, its usage or the minds behind it. Its just a proof that manipulation of the cryptocurrency market, the level of stupidity and the hypocrisy are taken to another level. But ETH worshipers would NEVER at least try to understand that. This is why having discussion with most of them is a pure waste of time.

Counterparty is today's top gainer and the price is already $6,15.

You're probably right about everything (since I'm not a coder), but I can compare it with Internet. The blockchain could become something like Internet 2.0 where it would not depend on "Internet 1.0". For example I was ISP back in 2003 until the end of 2010 when I sold my network. When I first started, the Internet of my network was 3 mbps. By the end of 2005 (giving the fact I was working alone and didn't had much money) every end-user had 100 mbps download and 50 mbps upload. Of course, back then Bulgaria was pretty advanced when it comes to Internet speed.

Anyway, future will tell. Smiley
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin implementing confidential transactions on: September 20, 2016, 01:04:56 PM
Let's just say that the blockchain (which is not all about money, but in this case...) is VISA/Paypal, but on another level. Something like: physical cash > VISA > blockchain. Thing is that companies like G4S will have A HUGE problem with the blockchain, because they won't be needed. Smiley
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin implementing confidential transactions on: September 20, 2016, 12:13:12 PM
Don't get me wrong, I always liked Litecoin. But I think that anonymous coins has no real future, because authorities will prosecute them sooner or later.

Of course.  But then all the others have lost their purpose.  I think it is a great thing if litecoin can include anon features, even though it is a break of the original contract, because that will legitimize to the anon side, which it should have been and is  a fundamental flaw in bitcoin (not making any accusations to Satoshi: you cannot get everything right the first time).

That said, it somehow kills the immutability of protocol intend of litecoin, because anonymity or not is an INTEND, not just a technicality.

Nah, can't fully agree with you. I think that the main purpose of cryptocurrencies are to be "internet money" and/or to create some extra wealth (which is like the Satan to the top 1% (or even much less) of the world's population). If I had to compare anonymity vs. "Satan", then I would say the chance is 40/60 (i.e. states considers themselves more endangered from "internet money/wealth" than anonymity).

Indeed my friend, a lot of fantastic news coming out of Devcon2. And we're only on day one. Of course all this gud news and tech goes over Spartac_unts haircut.

Indeed, my dearest Mindlesscache. Now you can both grab each other asses, sing the ETH chorus and fuck off. Wink
