Have you paid your taxes yet? They may be trying to get a hold of you.

You might want to try to call them, or call the shipping company.

Last status is that they released them today.
They didn't call me or tell me I had to pay anything.

So if they released them maybe I won't have to pay ?

Has anyone seen the next estimated next est diff level..?

Next difficulty retarget occurs at block 316511.0 (eta 12.4 days): 24080944291.1 / +22.1% [est.]

I know it's only estimated but even so, yikes...!  Shocked

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Where the hell are you seeing 22%? Even so, you can't really make any predictions on the next jump immediately after the current jump. This is when the large DCs and manufactures ramp up their farms. They inevitably turn down the their hardware about 7 days prior to the change to average out the next jump.

My bet is 8-10%.

So! All units are hashing over 440gh (Two over 490), but only when using a cronjob to restart the cgminer service every 1/2 hour - 1hr depending on the miner.
Regardless of how long I leave any of these guys up to "stabilize", they always fall to 390-398 after 48 hours.

There's only one thing. I am noticing a rather high number of duplicate shares poolside since starting this restart routine. (surprise)
Is there a cgminer flag among the bitmain options to clear the asic of all work upon a cgminer restart? I know the A1 miners have a similar command with '--hwreset'

Restarting every 30 minutes is a bad practice.
Try replacing thermal paste grease and I think the issue will be solved.

I'm pretty aware how just how shitty it is, but unfortunately after re-pasting two units I saw a decrease in running temperatures but was still experiencing a steep drop off in hash after about 25-35 minutes. One of the units will spike back up to about 470 but never enough to average out to 440 without cgminer restarts.

I wish I could attribute this to poor labor skill on my part, but I'm just about 100% certain I don't suck at apply thermal paste. =/

what kind of thermal paste did u use ??

Ceramique

ok.. do not use AS5 thermal paste and do not place
the plate upside down like this idiot tried to do below:
http://i62.tinypic.com/k9bapy.jpg[/img]

check your heat sink is placed right way:
http://i59.tinypic.com/2l9nubs.jpg[/img]

with all those "-" it looks like you have a cooling issue on that blade.
look at your plate did you place it upside down by accident ??

Hahaha, no no definitely didn't remount the plate upside down. However, if my heatsinks were machined/cast anywhere NEAR as well as the ones in that unit I probably wouldn't have any problems.

Is it a good idea to remove heatsinks and apply new thermal paste immediately when receiving the units?

If someone could please post a few pics about what´s needed to be done. I dont know once i open S3 what to do. You clean up old thermal paste, and where do you apply new thermal paste? just have no idea. thx! a few pictures would help Tongue

Question guys.

With 218.75 and 225 its necessary to use 4 PCIE? Or with just 2 PCIE its ok?? For 218.75 im sure i can just use 2 PCIE, but for 225 frequency im not that sure.

right now i have 4 PCIE for both, 716W total

My recommendation is to use four cables for better stability.
But its not a necessity. If you are overclocking I now strongly recommend(unlike earlier) to use 4 power cables.

I wanted to use Corsair CX750M for both, but yeah i have one at 225 frequency, so thats OC and i suppose with just 2 PCIE wont work very well maybe

None of my 6 miners show a performance of 441 Gh/s at the pool (438.44, 422.08, 413.11, 411.2, 389, 382.51).  The working temperature of the webgui shows about 40 degrees, does anybody can offer some help how I can increase the performance (read something about restarting cgminer)?

Depending on your PSU, (recommend 600W at least for a single miner) and all 4 PCIe power plugs used, you can overclock it a little bit. Search this thread with Overclock and you will the instructions to do that...but just the same SSH into your miner and edit the /etc/config/asic-freq file. If you are comfortable with a linux command line this should be easy. Otherwise follow the instructions in the post after searching Cheesy

dogie says with 1 CX750M you can run 2 S3

I am running 2 S3s with stock clocks on a CX750M with no problems.

and if you OC and you have for both S3 730W for example?

Hopefully you've already received your units, EMS looks very slow.

My order is going via the long route using UPS. It is showing expected delivery in about 2 days to Australia.
That's after I pay what should be around $260 odd import tax as well for 4 x S3s.
Cant wait for Bitmain to go back to single unit orders. Don't think that's gonna happen though.
Single orders will get Aussie buyers under the $1000 import tax level.

i wanted to try with EMS just to see if i can avoid customs.... lets see

You cannot avoid any duty if you are shipping via EMS.

I have bought like 8 times in taobao, a chinese website for buying replica clothes, and many things, parcels of 8 kgs each, and i never had to pay for customs.

with ups yeah 3-4 days and i have to pay customs, thats why i wanted to test with EMS. Im from SPAIN

Is this normal???

same on both S3. Both with default frequency: 218.75

why so many discarded??

someone suggested that its possibly backwards, the accepted are actually the discarded, and vice versa. probably fixed in a new firmware upgrade soon

Hello oskuro, did you end up getting a resolution for this problem.
As you can see my discarded shared are a huge problem  Sad  I have upgraded to the latest firmware from bitmaintech but still no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS I have 6 Antminer S3's All with the same problem

yeah dont worry about discards Smiley

Dogie i see you gave best score to:

Corsair CX750M ( i have 2 of this psu, 1 for each S3).

And 2 more S3 coming, so i thought i could buy a Corsair RM850M, i see you gave it also a very good score, so i can run 2 S3 with this PSu, right??

thanks!

edit: sorry you just posted. so you say its better 1x AX 1200i instead of 1x CorsairRM850M? Why 1200W for 2 S3??(2 s3 even 3with OC im getting 725W together). So with corsair RM850M enough, right?? or not??  Grin

that 1200 corsair its so expensive for just running 2 S3, or can i run 3 s3 with that psu?

You can run 3 on the AXi, yes. And just about 2 on the 750, but it gets very close.

but its safe to run 2 S3 with 1 CX750M? I get 725W with 2 S3
Yes

oh ok. i read in other topic someone saying that if you get 725W for example with 2 S3, its so risky to just use a 750W because PSU´s always have a little less than the total 750W they say they have, and better to have a little more extra W than just "20W" more

Its the other way around on most corsair series. They have a peak which is 10% above rated, the rating being 24/7 stable.

oh ok then, you mean that peak of 850W for CX750M? But i suppose they dont have all the time those 850W, just from time to time or whatever. ok then i will try to run 2 S3 with just 1 CX750M lets see if it doesnt explode Grin
