81  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm going to help pop this bubble on: November 18, 2013, 05:08:04 PM
I am just wondering - why everyone keeps calling it a "bubble"?

When you are a "Bear" (someone who wants bitcoin to go down in price for unimaginable reasons) everything looks like a bubble.

LTC 7$ on btc-e. WTF

Yawn.  LTC barely breaks 1% of Gox's BTC price. This is normal.  It will crash as soon as BTC stabilizes.

I don't know why anyone would waste their time or money.

It's fantastic price but you're just another Bitcoin snob Cheesy

LTC is next big thing, it might fail down of course but it will easily be 20$ in 2014.

BTW, I don't own a single LTC.

Yes, I am a bitcoin snob if you define snob as someone who calls out BS when he sees it.

If ltc is $20 in 2014 it will only be because BTC is $2000+.

What is it that has made stamp so much more prone to walls?  Liquidity? Why does liquidity = walls?

Just curious.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2013, 01:41:00 PM
Who are these dorks selling on Stamp?

"Oh, the other two exchanges are 25% higher and are either steady or climbing. Guess I better dump!"
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2013, 07:44:28 AM
btcchina down?
87  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2013, 07:35:35 AM
Its time to sell all?? its going to correct down? or it going for 700??? Cant sleep...

It's never time to sell. I don't get why anyone sells anyway, bitcoin IS a payment system, why switch over to a defunct broken fiat system while we can have something that's 10 times better?

That's the mutha frakin' truth man.
88  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2013, 07:34:24 AM
What's funny is that from what I can tell, most of the selling that's going on is being done at Gox.

Which just means these people are just going to have to turn around and buy back their coin anyways if they ever want their money back.
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2013, 07:20:54 AM
I usually correct people when they say; "X exhchange is almost out coins!" but it really does look like China is out of coins.
90  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 18, 2013, 02:04:48 AM
Bitcoin right now is like a perpetual motion machine. Gox/Bitstamp rally because China is rallying and then China rallies more because gox/bitstamp are rallying.

Will likely work in reverse too.

Except that, you know, so far they've only all crashed for relatively short periods of time.  Or are we filling this prophecy under the "I'm wrong until I'm right then I told you so!"?

Well, this has been an interesting Sunday.
92  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-11-15 Daily Telegraph: Tens of millions targeted by email 'ransom’ virus on: November 16, 2013, 02:49:51 AM
I work in IT and have had a few clients get cryptolocker on various computers.  We do backups of course, so they had no need to pay the ransom.

I kinda secretly wished they'd had gone for the ransom anyways so I could tell them about bitcoin Sad
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2013, 02:46:03 AM
Stupid bot sold all my bitcoins at a loss and now it seems it will buy again at a loss bitcoin-wise too Sad

Why do you think we keep saying "Buy and hold". Do you think we're joking? Do you think this is some kind of game?

Buy. and. hold!!!
94  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2013-11-15 Metro (UK) - Teen dies on Skype after buying drugs on Silk Road on: November 15, 2013, 05:07:49 PM
Coffee, tobacco and alcohol kills much more people. Let's publish horror stories telling that every day.
Something like "15yr promising school boy died after whiskey overdose, the bottle was bought with US dollars!"

To be fair, news is almost by definition things that don't happen everyday.  Do you honestly sit around reading articles all day about everyone who died from mundane causes? No, nobody does.

Bitcoin is the only investment/commodity that can rise 25% or more in one week and be met with a "meh" by the people holding it.
Dollars is the only investment that can fall 25 % or more in one week and be met with a "meh" by the people holding it.

What if the bubble doesn't pop and bitcoin will never be below 300 usd again?

Then nothin' but good times ahead.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 14, 2013, 04:23:18 PM
Maybe we can stay a bit more on topic/be a bit more serious. This thread is becoming a bit useless for really talking about the price movement.

This thread has been long recognized as a sort of "lobby" for the forum. Straying off topic isn't uncommon.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn, Foundation's Law & Policy Chair, is pushing blacklists right now on: November 14, 2013, 04:18:31 PM
Mike really should be ashamed of himself.  Not like, "Oh, whooops! How embarassing for me" sort of ashamed.  Like, "Where did I go wrong in life?" sort

I have the impression the rocket is stalling Embarrassed
One whale decides to dump and Weeeee it goes..

What ARE you talking about?

Even though bitcoin is amazing, you can't honestly expect 10% increase in value every 10 mins.
