How can "money" "see" legal troubles?
How can a crypto-currency "shine"? How can it "lose shine"? How can it "hit a spotlight"?
The media are choking on their own self-aggrandizing metaphors, which is fine by me.
I take it you're not a big fan of poetry or literature.

How is TradeFortress a scammer? You Ripple shills deserve the tag.
I like this quote.

Has CoinBase gotten their act together to allow for larger purchases?
No-ish. I was using them regularly and then, when the price crashed to 60 or whatever a month ago I bought a fairly large sum and Coinbase decided I was all of a sudden a fraud risk for no raisin. Made me miss out on real cheap coins

I don't know. What could he do? What would you tell him?
Tell him to smoke a bowl. But seriously, this is most likely related to Gox failing to lrn 2 bizness and the resulting suit with Coinlab.

So, this pretty much puts Dwolla out of business, right? Why would anyone use Dwolla as anything but a conduit to Gox?

MtGox is the only exchange that at least halfway got its shit together to not lose any funds and not get shut down. There has been no better alternative, and most certainly not for anyone trading more than pocket change. MtGox's success made Bitcoin's possible, deal with it. Read this and learn: http://fc13.ifca.ai/proc/1-2.pdfThe reason the FREE MARKET is still predominantly using MtGox is that MtGox is the least shit of them all. So? Least shit but it's still shit. As I said before, I'd rather see it go 100% under and a chance for either a better one to arise or have the system more distributed.

It's bullish and bearish all at the same time!
No it's not. It's 2011 all over again, with all kind of bad news coming out of the woodwork precisely when everyone thought the worse was behind us. And just like 2011 90% of the bad news is solely the fault of Gox

Good news (trust me, it is) + One guy dumping = PANIC!
Not sure how this is good news It is one more reason to compel people to move away from Gox. The less Gox is used and the more distributed the BTC exchanges the better for everyone.

Yes, I'm starting to believe in some sort of curse on Bitcoin that prevents it from finding any level of stability. It's like, the moment we think we're there MtGox comes and hits us in the gonads.
FTFY Thanks

some bears are going to get burned ...severley
The odd thing is, if you think MtGox is about to get owned by the US Govt, you need to BUY bitcoins and move them off the exchange. This was my thought too. This also leads to the theory that it's really just a couple guys trying to manipulate and buy back more coinage then they started with.

Ugh, I was sort of liking the stability.
Yes, I'm starting to believe in some sort of curse on Bitcoin that prevents it from finding any level of stability. It's like, the moment we think we're there something completely out of left field comes and hits us in the gonads. I fully expect that two weeks from now when we're stable at $140 we'll all find out BTC gives you cancer

Mtgox trading engine lag: 37049m 45s
maybe a bug I've seen this happen on occasion the last week or so. Even at points where there was about 5 or 6 seconds of lag it would jump randomly to that 100000m lag.

Only temporarily. In the long run it'll be best. If Gox doesn't implode now, they surely will later at an even worse moment. This whole thing is most likely due to Gox's own incompetence and failure to act within their own self-interest and to get an effin' clue.
Yeah! So, let's start listing more competent exchanges. We can start the list with... Eh..? You start! This time it is some bureucrat in a remote fu**ed up country doing his job. Protect the banks. I'd rather go through a short period with no exchanges and let one rise than to keep bouncin' along with the sack of puss that is Gox.

Good news (trust me, it is) + One guy dumping = PANIC!
Or someone trying to use the dwolla news to generate a bit of panic and get cheap coins... oh well, nothing we haven't seen a million times before. Yea, that's what I tried to hint at.

This is such good news. Hopefully Gox will implode now.
And with it, the value of your Bitcoins, since the stream of fiat money will be gone. Careful what you wish for. Only temporarily. In the long run it'll be best. If Gox doesn't implode now, they surely will later at an even worse moment. This whole thing is most likely due to Gox's own incompetence and failure to act within their own self-interest and to get an effin' clue.
