prepare for massive sell-off when segwit gets locked in
it's gonna be bloody
Why a sell-off ? Segwitt is a good news.. Why would people sell ? I'm probably missing something there ^^

well, now I am a bit confused what makes me skeptical, beside all the people blaming for scam, is the long period of time of 2 years, it could really happen everything in that amount of time, what if they just poweroff everything and disappear? Being skeptical isn't enough. Do not invest and read more if you are not convinced yet.You will thank me later. You won't make any profit, even in 2 years.

Site and API seem very unresponsive today - is Poloniex under DDoS attack - or just heavy load?
I think it is heavy load. the XRP is rising fast and volume is huge. I can't connect on Poloniex at the moment. It looks like a DDoS attack to me. Volume or XRP can't affect the connectivity of a website.

I dont want any hardfork, split or BU. But bitcoin should change as it is cause we need solutions in the bitcoin scaling problem or is there even a scaling problem to begin with. Because ive only seen few people complaining about their transactions not going through or not confirming if Bitcoin scaling is really that a major crisis. Why is there no many complaints coming from the users?
Ok, I voted no, but everyone has to admit Bitcoin needs a solution, and needs it fast. From far away it looks like Bitcoin Core developpers are sleeping. A lot of altcoins are way faster, way cheaper, way more user-friendly than bitcoin. Biggers blocks or Segwit is needed. Even if the hard fork affraids me a lot, and I don't want it to happen, I'm ready to understand their position and admit they are right...

Well... and here comes an obvious hashrate increase that will lead to a difficulty increase in just a week:
18 Feb - 151 block mined 19 Feb - 134 blocks mined 20 Feb - 148 blocks mined 21 Feb - 138 blocks mined 22 Feb - 138 blocks mined 23 Feb - 150 blocks mined 24 Feb - 163 blocks mined 25 Feb - 167 blocks mined 26 Feb - 178 blocks mined
We can face another 10-20% difficulty increase in the near future (1-3 weeks).
In case of 20% difficulty increase 0.52 BTC daily profit at GM will turn into 0.38 BTC (27% drop).
Where can I find this info? You can find it here : https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty !

Thanks for making this thread. I was just about to invest in Genesis-Mining (can you believe it was recommended inside of the Bitcoin For Dummies book!), but from what I've been reading online it sounds like you're helping them pay for electricity costs as goodwill.
I think I will just exchange cash for Bitcoin for now. Or earn through affiliates.
I'm happy it saved you some money. Just buying and keeping seems like the best plan. Good luck with your investment. Genesis-mining has been refusing to payout my DASH and XMR balances for weeks now, all of my balance went to 0 and after numerous tickets and run arounds, It looks like they are simply not going to pay up.
They will probably just tell you the fees are now higher than your payout. Sorry to say so but you shouldn't expect them to pay anything from now :-( did I just F#$%! my self ??
I'll up date how my money on the mining contract disappears ... .F#$%^&*&^%$
Sorry man. Keep us updated about your losses. At least it will warn others :-/

It's just a matter of time until this list will go outdated, It's better to make a website and make people submit about the upcoming news and events that will happen in the bitcoin world with details about the locations and speakers etc...
Of course I can make a site, but I just wanted to test the idea first and see if people are actually willing to contribute and participate. In my eyes forum is the most flexible format and probably the best place to start. Yeah it's quite a good idea. You just can't manage it yourself so I don't think a website will help. But with people posting it could be allright and up to date.

This is confirm that fortunejack will scam everyone...Now the minimum withdraw is set to 0.10 BTC 0.1 Minimum withdraw... that's a lot ! There is probably an explanation (at least I hope so...) 1) Did you contact their customer service ? If yes, what did they say ? (I'm not speaking about the chat..) 2) Did you post on their main thread ? If yes, what did they say ?

Happy hour now . Thank you Stunna. That's generous of you. Let's try to make a few $$

Saw a few pages on the internet and I was looking to know if someone invest in loans and if it is profitable. Seems like people don't repay them.
I dont really understand your question. I'm not a native english speaker but this question is easy to understand. Does anyone invest in loans outside this forum ? Are they profitable ? As far as I see on the internet people don't look foward to repay them. They are if you are careful enough. You have to ask for a collateral & don't loan to newbies. If you check my trust you will see I made a few bucks lending people bitcoins.

There are a few factors warning you of a scam :
1 - If it's too good to be true (be rich in 5 days ! Double your bitcoins in 24 hours!) 2 - If the owners of the website are anonymous 3 - If they don't explain clairly "how" they are going to make profit
The golden rule is to always get some informations before investing. If you are unsure, ask on the forum. But also : check on the forum (search with keywords), check on the internet, check the trust on the forum, check the comments about them on the social media, etc..

Yeah. As I said, there's no way to make it profitable. Estimated Next Difficulty: 467,137,566,550 (+5.98%) BTCdream, if you want you can send me 191000$ and I'll pay you dust I probably need that money more than Marco does. Btw BTCdream you should calculate how much you would have made just buying bitcoins and keeping it in your wallet. Price is going up quite fast these days...

I personally think she has a high chance of winning based on the current state of France as it is now, it's a place where many refugees arrived in and have made France a crime ridden area. I'm not saying the refugees caused all of this but it's a good climate for someone like her to go in and win an election.
She is also someone who is well liked by the PEOPLE and hated by the politicians on the other side based on how fierce she is. I think she is real feminist based on the type of way she really fights for womens rights, unlike the bullshit womens march and the whole hating men thing here in the United States.
lol. Her chances are very low (2nd round of the election) and France isn't a crime ridden area. Based on mathematics, it's NOT a place where many refugees arrived. She just want you to believe that. I don't understand how you can say she is a feminist (she is against abortion..).
