Hi,

i would like to give it a try. I did make few logos last year but i think they were similar to the current ones anyways so i will make some new.

also, when you say platinum color, does it mean shiny like the platinum metal?
or are you also open for some flat solid kinda logos? and then we can also make it into a 3D metal later.

till when do i have time for this because its holiday season and i wont have access to design till 26th.

previous ones:

Think a total revamp on the logo is in order. Total different approach.

Keep getting a vision of the wheel on a vault door symbolising the C and the X but the B I'm stuck on. Maybe an upside down keyhole.

Would rather see something more simple and elegant. The best logos are the simple ones.

Great idea! I would like to make a new physical CBX so watching this in earnest. I will also add 50 CBX to the prize pool to be used at the organizers discretion.

Cool. Will be purchasing one of those

Surely someone could throw together a logo idea for $300 worth of CBX?

Roadmap 2017-2018 status report!

Latest progresses include the following:

- we added the Bootstrap loading tool directly in a Vault menu; also we provided a default-checked option that automatically download the bootstrap upon launching Vault 3 for the first time was added to the installer.

- masternode operations are being tested internally, making sure that no more than 125 BPN's can operate at any time, done through "mutex",

- we are applying final touches to dialog text strings in 4 languages,

- most of the development work is carried out in Linux environment, we still have to succesfully compile the new codebase Vault in Windows/MacOs environments; this is an important next step.

No new major problems have been encountered yet with new codebase, you will see Vault 3.0.0 pop on and off at the blockexplorer as we are testing each new feature.

Thanks Ben, and the rest of the team!

Sounds like a release could be just around the corner.

Great news, looking forward to the new vault!

Anyone think we need a new logo?

I'll give 50 CBX to the best logo anyone can come up with, whether the dev team uses it or not.

Current logo looks either like the end of a penis, or the view from a voyeur toilet spy cam. Never liked it.

So... 50CBX for a bit of logo fun?

I didn't quite see it like that (!), but why not modernise the logo to make it reflect a whole financial system rather than just a 'coin'.

I wanted to be platinum instead of the usual gold for Vault 3.0.0 - we can still incorporate the idea of platinum in a more corporate looking logo.

A friend is interested to help out, thanks to your generous offer...

PS. 日本からの人々、私はあなたの返答を待っています。

A new logo could be interesting, I will put in 50 CBX on this as well...

Nice one Elambert!

I like the idea of platinum over gold. Logo needs to be much simpler and easier on the eye.

Maybe one of you could drop a thread into the altcoin bounty section?

Nice surge in Crypto Bullion nodes from Japan, which is a positive sign of things to come. Welcome to Japanese Bullionaires 本当にようこそ!

Also, dev team needs some help to properly serve the japanese crypto market, if you are from Japan or if you know the japanese crypto industry please contact me by PM.

Very interesting, welcome!

Welcome Japan.

18 Japanese vaults online now.

Any update on Vault 3.0?

Roadmap 2017-2018 status report!

Has anyone noticed what just appeared at the CBX block explorer today?

As announced earlier, we have found the culprit in the hashing problem and have been able to fully sync the new codebase Vault 3.0.0 (without any help, without a bootstrap), and run it side by side with the other Crypto Bullion nodes on the network; this part of the job is finally a done deal!

I know I have been promising an alpha test release for the longuest time, and accordingly we will have something we need to test out soon - what we need to test at different locations is making sure this new codebase will sync without any issues everywhere, just like it did here; and while we are here you will be able to experience firsthand and comment on the new interface (albeit still being worked on). Stay tuned for this.

What is technically left to do until we Vault 3.0.0 is complete?   Windows compilation, support for PoW miner (for testnet only!), create a file to manage the map of block mutex, addition, suppression, check, etc...;
Migrate current codebase to Zerocoin, pictures update, implement a better startup system for masternodes, implement a Qt Wallet launcher, add the hardfork logic in the code, add a customizable message in the Qt wallet.
On protocol switch (hardfork) activation, change VerifyScript2 to VerifyScript.

Things are definitely moving, but we are not finished yet; most importantly, we did not lose too much time with the hashing issue.

Awesome news!

Its good to see there's a definitive goal in sight.

Apologies to the dev team for my earlier criticisms. Born of frustration  Sad

hey guys please visit https://www.kucoin.com/#/?r=E5KSaQ, there is a section vote for new coin cost 0.1 kuc per vote over a 12 day period just like cryptopia before if we time it properly we could be listed there.

Just signed up.

Here's the link to submit a request http://kucoinform.mikecrm.com/tAssDWK

There's also the idea of a snapshot and/or fork. The new vault could be on a brand new blockchain but use the same private keys or have a distribution so all existing balances are present on the new blockchain, so all people would have to do is import their old vault private keys and they have their coins.

The snapshot approach with re-using same private keys was exactly what we intended to do with CBXi. Still seen as a 50 000.$ "swap" by Cryptopia.

If you do a "fork", then you still use the old blockchain, but new vault software, and of course there will be two blockchains after that particular block, the question is if Cryptopia would accept the fork and replace the old coin with the new coin, or have some sort of "in place" swap that instantly happens on the forking block.

A "fork" is pretty much a common occurence in the altcoin world and it's not considered a swap by Cryptopia, this is confirmed by one of their admins.

All this being said, we are negociating with people from another crypto who want to create a new exchange, which would be CBX (and said coin) centered. Stay tuned.

Did everybody miss this? I think it's a pretty major idea.

Creating a new exchange would open up the options that would cause probems at the moment. I think it's a great idea if it can be achieved.

We just need some place to trade if the coin swap is to go ahead. Big or small.

Having a fresh start while keeping all the fundamentals we already have is the best option imo.

Hey VP, thanks for the update Smiley - but I (personally) don't agree this the logic here...

The coinswap represents a highly valuable opportunity to move away from the slow, bloated and somewhat broken blockchain CBX currently implements - to update the client with modern (SECURE) code base and set CBX on a firm footing for the future should be the primary goal here. Just because a single (granted our only) exchange won't support the coin if we swap should not (ever) dictate the technical direction of the  implementation of the coin - the code/blockchain at the end of the day is all that matters, and if it's not sound CBX has no future.

With a coinswap, new code base, clean client and fluid blockchain (you can sync from the Gen block to the latest) we should re-approach a number of key exchanges and diversify our market penetration. What if our only exchange implodes in 3 months time?

Just my two sense, but if we bend to the will of a singular corporate entity that is in this game to solely make money what does that say about CBX, it's values and the attitudes toward decentralisation that any investor will questionnaire before placing buy orders that will drive it's value upward.

FR

Read the update this morning at work. Just logged in to give my view, and I see FiniteRed has covered almost everything I've been stewing over all day.

Totally agree with FR. I was shocked with the announcement that the CBX Dev team were going to abandon the current development path because of the views of an exchange. To develop CBX in a way that fits an exchange, rather than evolve. To give in to demand of a centralised organisation.

We have the chance to leave behind the baggage that has been carried and held us back for so many years.

The coinswap along with the new software would have us on multiple exchanges within weeks of release. The setup, blockchain download, memory issue and crashing of Vault 2.4.3 is why I suspect we aren't listed on many more exchanges than we are.

There has been a lot of interest In CBX lately and what message does this say to prospective investors who are eagerly awaiting vault 3.0? I suspect they are tired of this game of snakes and ladders as much as the rest of us.

The latest announcement has left me disappointed and unsure about  the future of CBX if the dev team is so easy to give in to the stance of an exchange, and mold CBX to fit in,  rather than to stick with their own vision of crypto bullions future.

I presume all exchanges new/old/large/small have been contacted about listing CBXi and rejections from all have been received before deciding to not move forward, and stay stuck in the same old hole?

Roadmap 2017 status report!

Thanks to our new coding approach that we have outlined at the last post, we are seeing positive results in developing Vault 3.0.

We will be conducting Vault core tests this week-end and into next week, and unless we encounter a problem, public alpha testing may start as soon as the end of next week.

Happy Friday everyone!

hello to everyone,

it's good to see that things are moving forward and the new approach is working well.

I have just one question/suggestion about the swap, did you been in touch with cryptopia about this idea?

I am asking because nowadays exchanges take any excuse to remove coins with low volume (and CBX unfortunately is one of them) in order to freeing space for new coins willing to pay high fee for be listed, and a swap is the exact excuse to for do so.

I strongly suggest you to coordinate with them so that everything will go smoothly.

Happy weekend!

Was thinking about this also.

I am not sure I understand the voters for 'no new ticker'. Can someone provide their reasoning for voting this way? Would like to hear the thought process.

Per my understanding, presently there is an issue with the CBX that is trapped on YoBit. YoBit will not allow withdrawals and every week or two we have someone on this thread who purchased CBX on YoBit complaining that they cannot withdraw. This eventually results in them having to dump the CBX they have there so they can get a different coin that is still allowing withdrawals. So the buyer/seller in this example ends up losing money and not getting the CBX they wanted and CBX ends up with downward price pressure - even though it is outside of the 'real' ecosystem.

The only solution for getting CBX unlisted or fixed on YoBit is to pay their ransom to do so. No guarantees of how long this expensive band-aid solution will work.

So with the new ticker YoBit would be forced to update to the newer fork or they would continue listing the old 'CBX' whereby the potential buyer would have more of a fair opportunity to realize the risk they are taking in purchasing CBX at a discount with the hopes of withdrawing and converting to the new fork.

Additionally this will allow the overall crypto community to see the change occurring in CBX and visit the opportunity to get in early - growing the CBX economy as a result.

These are my thoughts regarding a new ticker, curious to hear the opposition...

Good points F*D

I did choose to keep CBX. I like the ticker the way it is, and yobit isn't going to be a problem as we move forward, people simply won't trade CBX there as they don't now.

It's a good point you make about showing that Cryptobullion is changing to the cryptosphere, and this will attract some curiosity and new interest.

Main problem regarding my choice is that I don't like any of the ticker options that are given in the poll.

CB2, CBN, CBL, CBU are all way better alternatives IMO than the ones we have to vote on.

I would still rather stick with what we have though.

Official CBX bootstrap updated to today. Download from the OP here or website if you need it.

Also, we are still looking for donation for CBX Dev fund, see below:

Donate to the CBX Foundation Development Fund:

One critical piece of the outlined 2017 road-map is to put in place a self funding mechanism for continued development. The current plan is to create a 10k superblock at the time of the hardfork occurring in August/September to be used for a dev operated BPN from which interest earnings would fuel ongoing CBX development, advertising, etc. However, this is not ideal as it could potentially create an issue with exchange listing policies or negative perception/issues for investors. Resultant to this, it has been suggested to create a donation address to gather these funds from the community. In response to this suggestion the below address has been created to accept donations. The goal is 10k CBX. We will report periodically on progress towards the goal.

CBX Donation Address: 5jMKPEvPoHN4UNQEyEh9n84ZPdaQBMzfuZ

I don't know how others feel who may want to donate.

Personally I feel I could send some CBX to the donation address only to sit back and watch as nobody else does the same. Which puts me off donating.

Now, if I knew that I could donate and the target would be reached, I would happily go ahead and donate.

So, here's my proposal.

Helpthecoin has promised 5000CBX toward the total.

We already have 2115CBX donated.

Leaving 2885CBX short of the total 10000CBX needed.

I will donate the 885CBX if.....

I can find 4 people willing to donate 500CBX each.
5 people willing to donate 400CBX each.
10 people willing to donate 200CBX each.
Any number of people who want to contribute toward the 2000CBX goal.

Whatever the amount you can donate, please post what you are able to contribute. Once we have the remaining balance covered provisionally, we can all send together knowing our donation has not been in vain.

Only 2000CBX to raise between the rest of the community, and we can get this issue wrapped up.

The Dev team have always held on to the same dream as we all have, kept the cogs of this project moving, given us hope, and selflessly given many hours of their own personal time and effort, while we sit back and watch them do this.

Lets give something back. Lets secure the future of CBX. Lets invest where we should be investing, in our development team. They have been priceless so far.......

Well I will donate 100 cbx only... if we can't get 20x people to donate 100 cbx to get this going properly that's pretty sad.
I agree for the most part donations do not work. ROI projects are the way forward. Ie donators for projects share profits from the projects that come to fruition and those that do not donate get nothing. Of course self funding mechanisms are even better for development work on the core project.

ROI is good for raising funds for example to build a CBxchange - so many new coins looking for a good exchange

Also has anyone here contacted atcsecure -- blocknet to see if we can get added to their up and coming decentralised exchange?

I would be interested in donating, but the liquidity is actually terrible.  I am struggling to accumulate.

i will pledge the last 100 cbx , founder has put in 1000 ,
(I will donate the 885CBX if....Quote from: Killiz on July 28, 2017, 08:38:17 PM.)
(Quote from: cryptohunter on July 29, 2017, 02:06:23 PMWell I will donate 100 cbx only...)

Great guys!!

I will send my contribution later today when I get home.

Interesting vid!

F*D, any plans to create any CBX bars in the future?

Still have my very pretty silver CGB bar sitting in the cabinet  Smiley

Nothing concreted yet, but will definitely do something.

Was thinking silver or gold over concrete, but they will be original I suppose  Cheesy Cheesy

Looking forward to purchasing when the time comes.
