89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are crash games profitable??? on: March 26, 2024, 03:39:59 PM
A lot of youths in Africa are into aviator and a lot of other crash games... what's interesting is that 90 percent of these young people have skills, jobs and sources of income,..why are we playing these games when the odds are constantly against us.
People come up with patterns trying to understand the algorithm of these games but from my experience these games have no pattern
They are been controlled by the bookmakers, out of a 100 percent the chances of winning is 10 percent
After winning more than 4 times In a row just know that losses is bound to happen even if you don't lose that same day
Crash games are not going to give you that extra source of income you are looking for.
Using the martingale system in these games is quite risky because sometimes you might lose 20 times in a row
And continuing in this system will make you an addict,, protect your financial life at all cost, stake what you can afford to lose and be disciplined

It's great to hear that the majority of young gamblers in Africa are having a full time job with a steady income. As long as they don't rely on gambling as a form or income I don't see any issue here. Of course there is no pattern in crash games, otherwise the casino would go broke once some clever gambler breaks that pattern. Without randomness the casino would struggle to remain profitable and the gambler should realize that quickly. It's fine to believe in patterns or lucky numbers, but after a few losses in a row we should adapt our strategies. How else would you explain losing money even after finding the pattern? As long as the young gamblers have fun and don't bet more money they can afford to lose I don't see any issues. And after a few weeks of gambling I would expect them to not believe in the pattern anymore.
90  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trades be closed only when the market is bullish? on: March 26, 2024, 08:33:29 AM
A tendency arises among us. When the value of Bitcoin increases a lot, we start trading more. Which puts our trade management in jeopardy, during which most of the time people face loss.

What is your experience in this field?

Taking profits is fine when the market rises. I think this is what we saw after bitcoin reached a new ATH, many traders wanted to take some profits and we saw the price drop down to the 60,000 USD levels again. But once all the investors took their profits the price rose again. This is why it's so important to have alternative investment opportunities before we are taking profits. Just selling some bitcoin to hold fiat cash doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Trading more during bull markets implies that we are switching into other investments, which is a good thing. Diversifying our crypto coins into new projects can lead new profits, but it's not a guarantee. Taking profits only to see the Bitcoin price rise even higher is not going to feel good. Personally I wouldn't touch most of my bitcoin and just continue to hodl.
91  Economy / Economics / Re: Ignore Financial accountability to your detriment on: March 26, 2024, 07:40:55 AM
If you've not figured out how to hold yourself accountable financially, you shouldn't even think about making any real investment because it won't take time before you exhaust all the money in your hand and take your investment immediately. It involves discipline, proper planning, and the ability to stick with your plan. Big firms do it and if you take it seriously, even though your income might be little, the proceeds of the income will amaze you.

If you don't take your financial accountability seriously and want to allow everything to fall into place by chance, you will learn a hard lesson the bad way.

I fully agree with you, we are responsible for our own actions in life and need to accept the choices we make. When it comes to financial accountability there is no point in searching for the mistakes in others, in the end we always have the final decision in where we are going to spend, save or invest our money. This doesn't mean a good investor is not going to make mistakes. Everybody is going to have losses in their life, that is just part of the game. As soon as there is risk involved there is a possibility for us to lose our money and we need to live with that. The important part is to learn from our mistakes and try to not to repeat them. Luck is not something we should be counting on, because it's mostly having an impact short term on our finances. Over a long enough period of time, our own skill and making financially sound investments is going to outweigh luck. Which is why I keep track of all my investments and will keep checking if I made the right call on my trades. We should all own our mistakes and learn from them for the future.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Becomes of Gambling if Sport book is taken away. on: March 26, 2024, 07:29:51 AM
I don't know is this have been discussed before here on the gambling discussion board or not, but let see how our independent opinion on this question will be and what to anticipate should Incase we find ourselves at that stage in time.

Just as the title stated, what do you think will becomes of gambling enirly if we wake up one morning to the news of global banning of football,  or a country ban it citizens from participating in football both as a game and also a sport.

Do you think gambling/casinos will lose it popularity since chunk number of their clients are from sport bookies section?

I don't see any possibility of sport itself being removed from the earth. Even if one country would ban games like football then all the professional players would just migrate to a different country and play in their leagues. Even now there are countries where the local football teams are quite weak and still, they have a lot of fans of international teams. The English premier league is a great example for that, fans all around the world are watching the games. I would expect the same to continue even if football in your own country is banned. It won't be possible to prevent people from watching football games as long as they have access for the internet. As for gambling, this might be a different story. If all the bookmakers in one country are getting banned then it might be hard for people to place their bets. There will mostly likely be a black market that allows some form of gambling. Unfortunately, it won't be as safe anymore as before and everybody has to decide for themselves if he really wants to bet larger amounts of money in unlicensed casino where there is no legal framework if it comes to issues. Let's hope no country would actually go so far and ban all the sports betting.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the pros and cons of gold compared to bitcoin? on: March 26, 2024, 07:17:29 AM
What makes bitcoin a better (or worse) substitute for gold? This is an important question since bitcoin is constantly being compared to gold.

I will admit my bias is for bitcoin but for purposes of this thread let's be as objective and fair as possible to the gold and silver bugs.
No matter what our bias, if any we should never allow ourselves to become close-minded to other ideas and viewpoints.
Always take into consideration opposing viewpoints with an open mind because that is how bitcoin can become better and stronger.

Like you I am heavily biased towards Bitcoin even though I own both of them. My gold investments are rather small and only part of a general commodity fund that includes a larger range of precious metals. Over the years this investment has done pretty well and I am just going to keep it and only profit from the periodic payouts. My main motivation to buy into commodities like gold and silver came from my grandparents who always believed that gold was the ultimate investment and they kept a lot of gold jewellery at home. My parents eventually sold all that jewellery as nobody in the family wanted to keep gold directly at home as a investment. Both gold and Bitcoins are near their ATHs and it might seem they did really well in the last year. However, gold has been on those high levels for several years now and the recent performance isn't that great. The 1-year performance of gold was only 9.5% which isn't much compared to Bitcoin. If I had to choose between the two, I would always go for Bitcoin, but if I have enough money then a small side investment in gold is not going to hurt.

94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 25, 2024, 08:38:04 AM
I’m talking about the potential problem that you might encounter in the casino. Personally,  My worst nightmare that I don’t want to happened to me is when I hit huge jackpot while the casino investigate my account ask documents that will support my financial capability on gambling.

I’m only reading this issue on scam accusation but this is painful if happened to me like hitting max multiplier on slot games that result to 50K profit. Can’t imagine finally hitting my dream multiplier then casino seize my profit. This is just an abstract discussion so we are not really assuming that casino will do this especially the reputable casino.

When I was younger my worst nightmare in gambling was always going broke. Watching my strategies fail and seeing my whole bankroll disappear in front of my eyes was giving me nightmares. This was probably due to the fact that I only focused on roulette in the beginning of my gambling career and used martingale based strategies. I always found it easier to follow a fixed strategy instead of making up my mind every round on its own. The problem of course with these martingale strategies is that you can go broke if your initial bankroll is too small. Before betting any money I waited for 5 times the same color coming and then I would start betting on the opposite color. My biggest fear was that I would lose all my money when the one color trend continues and to only see my color come after I had no bet left. With one win alone I would have recovered all my previous losses and falling short one single bet would have been devastating. Luckily this never happened to me and now I am much more cautious with my bankroll management to avoid going broke.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is saving screenshots of useful information and BTC transactions? on: March 24, 2024, 03:56:04 PM

* My question is, how safe is it to keep screenshots of Bitcoin/crypto transactions and useful information, on ones device?

* How do I go about letting my friend know about such a habit of taking and keeping screenshots on his device that I have observed and warn him about it, without looking like I sense bad days coming?

I think it's a good idea to keep some form of documentation of our bitcoin transaction. Taking screenshots is very easy and quickly, we never know when those screenshots might come in handy. More and more countries are adopting new crypto regulations that include proofs where our crypto coins come from. Having a screenshot might not be the optimal form to document our crypto transaction, because they can be faked. But it's at least a start and we can keep track of the date of transactions even after switching wallets. As for your security concern, I understand that it can be a big problem if the wrong people get their hands on our phone. However, from the screenshots alone they won't get any access to our wallets as long as we didn't store our keys on phone as well. I think the best is to have a well secured phone, so in the case of our phone being stolen the thieves won't have access to our photos and documents. Being able to instantly lock our phone after a theft is important.

97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 03:06:29 PM

I am just wondering if anyone here have ever been in a similar situation before? That is, gambling until you are completely broke with nothing to fall back on?
No money in the bank, no cash in the hand, what did you do?

Or maybe gambled until you are one bet away from going broke (if you lose), do you go ahead and risk the money, or cancel the bet and  keep that money for something more important?

That's a bit of tricky question, because I like to limit my bankroll as much possible to keep my losses in check. So, I have a fixed amount of money I gamble with each month and if I lose than I am not going to deposit any new money in that month. It feels like being broke even though I still have savings that I could use. Having a clear cut between my gambling bankroll, my emergency savings and my investment money helps me to build a long term portfolio. It's the same when going to visit our local casino with friends, we usually all only take a fixed amount of cash with us and if we lose that money than that's it for the night. There can be unlucky situations where myself or a friend blows through his whole bankroll very early during the night. Then a friend who had been more lucky will lend a small amount, but that's only for placing a few minimum size bets. The rest of the night means drinking and watching others gamble, which is also a lot of fun.
98  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: TalkImg.com - Bild-Hosting für BitcoinTalk on: March 23, 2024, 08:20:54 AM
99  Economy / Economics / Re: Hardship as a global problem on: March 23, 2024, 07:48:04 AM
Currently in the world today.hardship is every where, it is not just a country problem but a universal phenomenon that is occurring rapidly. It is clearly seen that people are literally not able to eat even a square meal for a day. Especially those in under developed countries.hardship which is now a global spread has taken its roots in the world today. We now seat and face our day to day survival with no hope of what would happen next. Sincerely I think this great problem can be resolved if nations could come together and create a universal solution to it

I fully agree with you that the world could be a much better place if all countries would work together, sadly this is not really realistic at the moment. The world is still struggling with wars, many economies are moving away from free trade and try to protect their local industries, and there is a growing number of people trying to migrate to different countries. All these problems could be adresed if the world would act as one and the countries wouldn't fight each other. Unfortunately, most of us are not in any place of power to have real influence over the world and should focus more on our own family and how we can do the best in our situation. For me saving is an important concept that hopefully many people learned from their parents and grandparents. Without any form of saving, we will be doomed in case of an emergency. Nobody knows the futures and we need to plan ahead always for some unforeseen events that could hurt us or our family. Having some emergency fund that we saved before can make a big difference, because without it we would need to try and get a loan that will have very high interest payments in the future. At least in my family it was normal to always save some small part of your monthly income for a rainy day. Also, saving money is the first step to have money for investing. Once we saved some larger amounts of money, we can start buying assets which are going to lead to a higher return than saving money in a bank account. Cutting back on unnecessary purchases and putting that money to work for us is going to make a big difference the longer we are saving and investing.
100  Economy / Economics / Re: Some people acts stranded and in need of the ways for breakthrough but not ready on: March 22, 2024, 02:54:51 PM

In life some people would see you doing so well and would think your earnings comes as easy as they may think. They would envy and wishes to be like you but when the opportunity comes they finds the opportunity ot buy jungle and unfriendly.

Being successful is not that easy and requires a lot of dedication. It's great that you are participating from the recent bull run and are able to fully provide for your family. Unfortunately there are enough people who didn't have enough free capital to invest in crypto currencies during the last bear market, or didn't know enough about it invest larger sums of money. We should be understanding and trying to help our friends as much as possible. This doesn't mean that we need to spend a lot of money supporting our friends, already small things can make a big difference. Being open with your friend about how you invest your money is good. It shows that you think about longterm goals and are planning for the future. Helping our friends to get a similar mindset is already a huge change and will lead to long term profits as well. Best to not take unfriendly behavior personal when it comes from envy. Everybody has a weak moment from time to time and we shouldn't end a life long friendship over it.
