801  Economy / Economics / Re: Learning from Imperial Rome on: January 02, 2014, 11:46:33 PM

An essay on imperial rome

Think back to the first time you ever heard of imperial rome. At one stage or another, every man woman or child will be faced with the issue of imperial rome. While it is becoming a hot topic for debate, several of todays most brilliant minds seem incapable of recognising its increasing relevance to understanding future generations. It still has the power to shock socialists, many of whom blame the influence of television. Hold onto your hats as we begin a journey into imperial rome.

Social Factors

Interweaving social trends form a strong net in which we are all trapped. When The Tygers of Pan Tang sang 'It's lonely at the top. Everybody's trying to do you in' [1] , they was clearly refering to the impact of imperial rome on today's society. A child’s approach to imperial rome provides standards by which we may judge our selves.

Our post-literate society, more than ever before, relies upon imperial rome. Society says that every man must find their own truth. While one sees imperial rome, another may see monkeys playing tennis.

Economic Factors

Economics has been defined as 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine.' To my learned ear that sounds like two people with itchy backs. Of course, imperial rome fits perfectly into the Fish-Out-Of-Water model, as is standard in this case.

There is no longer a need to argue the importance of imperial rome, it is clear to see that the results speak for themselves. The question which surfaces now is, how? Even a child could work out that transport costs is in financial terms 'holding hands with imperial rome.' Many analysts fear a subsequent depression.

Political Factors

Politics was once a game featuring competitors from elite classes. Comparing current political thought with that held just ten years ago is like comparing imperial romeilisation, as it's become known, and one's own sense of morality.

One quote comes instantly to mind when examining this topic. I mean of course the words of award winning journalist Francis Bootlegger 'A man must have his cake and eat it in order to justify his actions.' [2] Considered by many to be one of the 'Founding Fathers' of imperial rome, his words cannot be over-looked. It is a well known 'secret' that what prompted many politicians to first strive for power was imperial rome.
I wait anxiously. What will the next few years bring for imperial rome?

Conclusion

In my opinion imperial rome has a special place in the heart of mankind. It collaborates successfully, 'literally' plants seeds for harvest, and is a joy to behold.

I shall give the final word to star Justin Cruise: 'You win some, you loose some, but imperial rome wins most often.' [3]

Yes of course it will go away.  Check the meta forum, or maybe the sticky here.  Somewhere there's a list of activity vs time between posts.
803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Raspberry Pi for paper wallet - offline and online? on: January 02, 2014, 11:41:09 PM
Yes, that's the same as installing linux on a USB drive to create an "offline" computer.  Of course, make sure you use a reputable rasberry pi distribution image off of a clean computer.  You'll need to connect to the internet to download whatever software you want to use to make the paper wallet, but then you can unplug.
804  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Network hashrate to triple in the next 45 days? How?? on: January 02, 2014, 07:46:10 PM
If all the miners get wiped out, what will happen to confirmation times? I think blockchain should require a chip to invest %4 of every block crunching to confirmation times.

block crunching is block confirming
805  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: January 02, 2014, 05:36:22 PM
In Armory, a given wallet can create different paper backups (I mean, each paper backup has different set of 32  characters x two rows of character codes.) This is right ?

I ask this because after creating a first paper wallet, a few days later I wanted another copy but when creating another paper wallet for the same wallet, different codes came out.

Use the test backup feature to make sure it works.

It increases by 14 every two weeks if you posted 14 times in those two weeks.
It's crazy how people misunderstand this rule
1 (ONE) post in a fortnight brings 14 points of activity
You're right, I was thinking of starting with equal activity and posts.

Just add it as a switch to your Windows shortcut.
808  Economy / Lending / Re: I need 50 BTC for a Community Project on: January 01, 2014, 03:50:23 PM
Whatever you mine with, you'll never make back the amount of btc you spend to buy the miner.
809  Economy / Lending / Re: I need 50 BTC for a Community Project on: January 01, 2014, 03:31:33 PM
You should first learn about mining from someone else.  There's no way you would ever be able to pay the loan back from mining.

You cannot use Bitcoin-qt without syncing the entire block chain. Try using Electrum or Multibit instead. They work without downloading the entire block chain.

Is there any downside to using Electrum or Multibit vs Bitcoin-qt?

Nope, and electrum is easier to backup multiple addresses.

It's very possible that there is a lull in difficulty for say a month.  But expect a huge increase as the next stuff comes up.  Like 15% increase for three jumps and then 100% increase for the next jump.

Easy, your wallet is just a file, so make as many copies as you want.

If you're just running miners keep everything dc.  Use dc to dc converter to get 12 or 5 volts.

Its default location is on your c drive. You can use command line switches to tell it to use your usb drive instead, like -datadir d:bitcoin

You're far better off buying btc.
More than likely the most profitable approach but not much fun. SRCZM....  I would have done way better had I kept all the BTC I used for miners and used the same exit strategy of some out at 500 and the rest at 1000.  Live and learn.  If you want a hobby, mine. If you want to invest buy!

Yes, this is 100% for profit. I want to go back to school so i may have to cut my hours at work. This would be something to put gas in the truck and a few bags of groceries a week.

I would not try to mine for profit.  Especially if you're going to rely on the profits to live.  Just keep your money in the bank.
819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your "Best Share" ? on: December 31, 2013, 03:28:50 AM
12.1 million.  If the best share is higher than the difficulty then you found a block.
