octocoinpool [dot] tk was showing my hashrate active for about an hour but haven't gotten any coins credited for that hour,  (1630-1730 EST) confirmed or unconfirmed.

the pool is lagging, u should get your coins soon

Yes, our payout cron is acting a bit sluggish, it has to run more than once before payouts are processed. Everything is working fine, though, everyone's getting paid and mining is proceeding as normal. In fact, I have the pool set for 10 confirmations for the time being. That could be part of why payouts are running a bit slow but AFAIK we're paying out quicker than most pools.

Any other pool ops with pool problems check http://octocoinpool dot tk and read my news post for tips on how to get up and running. I'm going to take a nap, finally. Haven't gotten a good night's sleep for a while with work and getting ready for this launch! Good luck and happy mining everyone!

Come on fusionhash....
Where are all the coins for the last hour and a half?

Running solo I am getting a block about every 10 minutes. Spend well over an hour on fusionhash and nothing......

It looks like payouts are going to be running behind on most if not all pools. We've had to set our confirmations to 200 for the time being and I'm betting they did too.

I'm pleased to report that the pool at http://[Suspicious link removed] is mining blocks. Please come and mine with us! For the first 8 days our fee is 0.5%, PPLNS, and we will be doing a weekly giveaway of 25% of our earnings. Please read the notice on the site, and use our stratum servers at [Suspicious link removed] (US) and [Suspicious link removed] (Singapore).

First time I've ever seen a pool use whole new subdomains for coins/endpoint rather than a subdomain like useast.[Suspicious link removed].  Any particular reason for that?

Also why didn't we find any blocks in the first 500 or so?

*EDIT 2014 and we can't link to .tk domains?!  Really?!  Huh

I have my reasons for using completely separate domains for my stratum servers.. And how lame, can't link .tk domains? I just saw that.. octostratum1 (dot) tk (US) and octostratum2 (dot) tk (Singapore). Main site is http://octocoinpool (Dot) tk

http://octocoinpool.tk found 1 block? I personally saw in cgminer on one of my rigs three times- Found block for pool 1. Wtf?

ech, my cgminer often says "found block for pool 0" when i haven't actually found a block, not sure why it happens, it just started one day a few months back and has been doing it ever since. i wish it was true!

I don't really know what the issue was there for a bit, but resetting the stratum servers and re-syncing our wallet got things on the right track.

If anyone sets up a block explorer and I miss it, please do me a favor and send me a PM.

http://octocoinpool.tk Come and mine with us for your chance at winning 25% of our week's earnings!

The pool at octocoinpool dot tk is up and running now but experiencing some pretty severe lag, most likely due to DDoS plus miner traffic. If the server goes down don't worry, we will be back! We're going to add more memory later on this evening.

lol you guys.. Surely we can do something with birdcoin, possibly talk an exchange into accepting them? I haven't looked around much but isn't there an open source solution for setting up some type of *coin gambling site? That might be fun. What I don't get is how you dump a halfway broken release and just abandon it. Maybe the dev is brewing up a new broken coin. Or, maybe that's the point, to distract everyone so we're busy collecting birdies while they're doing something more profitable.. Just dumb conjecture. Anyway, I'll keep the pool open a while, it's fun watching the auto payouts pop up every minute or two, in the meantime getting ready for OctoCoin!

My pool is doing pretty well, we're chewing up blocks like crazy and only have like 4 miners, lol. I don't want this coin to die since I and another pool op put a lot of effort into getting it running properly! Where'd the dev disappear to?
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Birdcoin Scrypt, POW, Kimoto Gravity Well. Most Profitable on: March 07, 2014, 03:30:53 PM
Yes, seems the dev has abandoned the project altogether. It's nice that we're mining mass coins, but worthless coins atm. I'll keep the pool open for now. Maybe there's hope! http://birdcoinpool.tk

Ok guys, we are opening up our pool for registrations. The url is http://octocoinpool.tk. When we're fully up and running the pool will be DDOS protected and will have a stratum in New York, and one in Singapore.

The pool will be 1% 0.5% fee for the first 8 days, PPLNS, and we're going to be doing a WEEKLY giveaway of 25% of our earnings! This pool will be one of the official launch pools so we are doing our best to make sure that the miners have zero problems!

Edit: Lowered first week fees.

Octocoin pre-registration: http://888.altcoinpool.org/

You may want to speak with the developer about it, he has asked not to announce anything until after a dev team meeting which takes place tomorrow. I've got a pool set up as well and will be opening registrations when we get the green light from the devs. See if there's still a spot for an official launch pool, I think there's 3 so far but more pools are always good as long as there's miners!
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [888] [SCRYPT] OctoCoin ◦ The Power of Eight ◦ Don't Blink on: March 07, 2014, 05:00:05 AM
goodluck with your scamcoin.
The guy behind it probably has to wear a helmet at all times

I lost it there dude. But you're absolutely right, a coin is a coin, is a coin, ad nauseum, it's all in the presentation, the marketing strategy, and who you know. When I saw this one I immediately got pretty excited and after speaking with the dev I'm itching to get my pool open and see what other services spring up. I've been busting my butt this past week trying to early adopt some new coins and I've been getting stuck with failure to launch after failure to launch. I'm expecting great things from OctoCoin and I know the devs are too. See you guys on the 8th at 18:08!

I have spoken with one of the developers of this coin. This is definitely going to be one to keep an eye on, I think we can expect good things.

I have already set up a pool, 1% fee PPLNS, with a weekly giveaway. Just waiting on the green light from the dev team to open it up for pre-registrations!

OP, sent you a PM Smiley

This coin sounds like it has some promise... No IPO, dev is actually online..

Compiled a new linux wallet with the information I was given and now everything's working great!

https://mega.co.nz/#!ydEz0YyJ!Z2xUV5qBUECBSYPizF5GH5f0L4BONJUg34Y6mJ-MdBM

There's a link to a .gz archive with the DNSSeed fix, there's also a compiled birdcoind in there as well. Anyone can use that or just compile a new one. I didn't strip debug symbols or anything, just left it as is. If you compile a new one, make sure to chmod 755 build_detect_platform in src/leveldb/

Remember everyone, every week we're giving away 25% of the pool's earnings, so come and mine with us at http://birdcoinpool.tk!
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Birdcoin Scrypt, POW, Kimoto Gravity Well. Most Profitable on: March 06, 2014, 06:09:53 PM

in source code at src/net.cpp

remove :

static const char *strMainNetDNSSeed[][2] = {
    {"birdcointools.com", "124.182.5.93"},
    {"birdcoinpool.org", "162.250.125.26"}
};

static const char *strTestNetDNSSeed[][2] = {
    {"birdcointools.com", "testnet-seed.birdcointools.com"},
    {"weminemnc.com", "testnet-seed.weminemnc.com"},
    {NULL, NULL}
};

and add :

static const char *strMainNetDNSSeed[][2] = {
    {NULL, NULL}
};

static const char *strTestNetDNSSeed[][2] = {
    {NULL, NULL}
};

this will fix the problem with dns seed, my pool run with this fix for more then 72 hours without any issues.

Cool, thanks, gonna give it a try. I wonder if the dev is going to come back!
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]REDDITCOIN[RDC][SCRYPT][KGW][IPO] LAUNCH 03/13/2014 ! GET IN FAST ! on: March 06, 2014, 05:55:46 PM
Dev has not responded to any of my PM's or emails asking for further info or to claim a spot in the OP for my pool. I imagine he's buying hookers with everyone's BTC right about now, so forget about rdcpool.tk! Back to the hunt, trying to find one that isn't MIA, broken, or a complete scam.

Can anyone tell me how to fix the linux wallet myself? We're chewing through blocks, but having the wallet here on my home computer isn't an ideal situation, I hate stales.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Birdcoin Scrypt, POW, Kimoto Gravity Well. Most Profitable on: March 06, 2014, 09:23:32 AM
addnode=120.145.149.109

HA!

I tried a bunch of IP's and noticed a a pool on the same domain as a different coin, bam. Anyway, http://birdcoinpool.tk IS up and running now.

Mr Developer, if you read this, please fix us up a linux wallet. I've got the pool hacked together at the moment and I hate stale shares.

Everyone come mine with us and get a chance to win 25% of the pool's earnings!!

Edit: I just soloed the first block. Everything is looking good. Everything will look better when the dev fixes up the linux wallet Smiley
