8061  Other / Off-topic / A webhost I use called Synwebhost.com is apparently going to accept Bitcoins on: March 09, 2013, 12:10:41 PM
I just thought I'd put the word out but a host I use called synwebhost.com which provides offshore hosting is apparently going to be accepting Bitcoins soon™, I thought I'd make a ticket and it seems they're already planning on it or at least that's what support told me.
8062  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a scam, it's worthless and it's going to fail on: March 09, 2013, 12:07:06 PM
IT'S GOING TO FAIL! SELL YOUR BITCOINS ON THE EXCHANGE SO I CAN MAKE MORE MONEY FROM THE PRICE FALLING!
8063  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin is a scam, it's worthless and it's going to fail on: March 09, 2013, 11:58:05 AM
Why? Because I say so! Despite having no evidence, facts or basic mathematics to back up what I say!

Just thought I'd hop on the trolling train Tongue
8064  Other / Meta / Re: Is every thread here hijacked, or merely 99%? on: March 09, 2013, 11:50:31 AM
;_; BUT I USE SMILIES AND LOLS! You haven't ignored me have you?
8065  Other / Meta / Re: Is every thread here hijacked, or merely 99%? on: March 09, 2013, 11:18:25 AM
Cheesy I quite happily chat to people I don't know, even the ones I disagree with, but like I said when you get internet stalked it isn't fun plus you have other conversations with people ruined too, trust me, I'm probably jumping to conclusions here but I've found the people who don't think it's a big deal probably haven't had it happened to them, there are boards I've just abandoned because of troll spam.

That's the right phrase for it! Troll spamming!

Ah yes, bitcointalk must strive to be as similar to the British parliament as humanly possible. It is such a great paragon of transparency and justice that us mere mortals can only aspire to.

Oh for fucks sake don't - Sincerely, British Citizen who has been born here and lived here since 1990

It reminds me of Americans who have this stereotypical view about the British and how we all speak in posh accents and everythings in Victorian times and we're really polite, you are going to have your entire world come crashing down if you ever actually visit here lol.
Turn on your sarcasm detector.

Posting for the sake of Americans as well who have no idea about us Tongue

The ignore function is for pussies? No, the ignore function is for people who have a life and don't want to be spammed off the forum by some moron who decides to do some internet stalking because they don't like another persons opinions.
8068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] FIRST Feature-length Documentary on Bitcoin, 100% BITCOIN FUNDED! on: March 09, 2013, 10:20:00 AM
Get Ben Bernanke interviewed bwhahahahahaa! Cheesy

But seriously good luck Smiley
8069  Other / Meta / Re: Is every thread here hijacked, or merely 99%? on: March 09, 2013, 10:03:35 AM
The ignore function exists for a reason, it's a great idea for situations like this Smiley chances are if someone posted something retarded in a thread usually I see them doing it in another thread too.

Get a skill set people will pay you for.
8071  Economy / Economics / Re: The FED buys securities because, you know, the weather was too bad on: March 08, 2013, 03:23:19 PM
Unless you have:

. A giant wall of water hurtling towards you and crushing everything in it's path

. A risk of a nuclear meltdown engulfing a sizeable portion of a country in green light because of said weather

. The earth ripping itself apart underneath your feet

. A swirling mass of cylindrical pressurised death coming towards you

. A giant ball of ash floating in the direction of your airport

Then the weather is no excuse.
8072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with my 600 or so coins?!? on: March 08, 2013, 02:40:05 PM
Why not lend out a portion to help businesses start up or let people loan money and get interest in return? I think that's the best thing to do with any surplus you have because you'll help the Bitcoin economy grow, of course, make sure you store the Bitcoins you don't want being used offline but I'm sure you know that already.
8073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTCJam on: March 08, 2013, 12:56:52 PM
BTCJam themselves have a criteria you can check people on, so if they're willing to give their phone details, chances are they're 'more' trustworthy than people who don't but what you should do is use the same methods you use to find other scammers, are their claims reasonable? Do they have an actual plan? If you can't trust them then don't give them money, but if you don't trust them and still want to lend, give them a small amount that you can afford to lose they can then make up the difference from other people willing to make the risk in small amounts.

I think BTCJam and Peer to Peer lending is a fantastic idea, like with all these things involving money though there's nothing wrong with being a bit cautious and paranoid.
8074  Other / Off-topic / Re: Offline Tips in Bitcoins on: March 08, 2013, 05:37:24 AM
It took me reading this more than three times to understand why the person who posted this was angry, how is giving a waiter 0.2 Bitcoins a bad thing? Especially considering the rise in value Bitcoins just had recently lol!
8075  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-07 WIRED.COM Hackers Pull Off $12,000 Bitcoin Heist on: March 08, 2013, 05:07:22 AM
Wasn't the amount hacked before with places like MTGOX a lot higher? If so it seems that the security must be improving if they only managed to get such a small amount.
8076  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Red State: "Attack Bitcoin and you attack the core of the problem." on: March 08, 2013, 05:02:56 AM
Look on the bright side, now, we're the ones who get to call people like him conspiracy theorists, I sincerely believe that over the decades our governments have developed paranoid schizophrenia because I can't find any other explanation for their supporters erratic and irrational behaviour of claiming everyone is either a criminal or a terrorist who doesn't support them unquestioningly.
8077  Other / Off-topic / Re: Finally, some good news! on: March 07, 2013, 11:45:29 PM
While I can understand people getting panicky about North Korea getting access to nuclear weaponry, I'm more terrified of the imbeciles who want to build nuclear power plants and then put even bigger imbeciles in charge of them, it won't be nuclear weaponry that kills us all but incompetent people who insist on putting nuclear plants with an explosive radius that can take out a chunk of a country.
8078  Other / Off-topic / Re: HOWTO: get up to 1 BTC for free on: March 07, 2013, 05:26:07 PM
Just thought I'd say, I tried it, got a bunch of Bitcoin for my trouble Smiley around 0.63 BTC
8079  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What legally prevents a business forming that lets you buy anything with bitcoin on: March 07, 2013, 11:13:48 AM
That's a very clever idea, I'd be worried about whether the folks at Amazon etc. might take exception to them doing that though.
8080  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is Bitcoin Your Main Income Stream? on: March 07, 2013, 10:28:42 AM
Yep, like with most people my age I'm unemployed, because I can't even get a basic cleaning job where I am ( It got taken on the same day it was posted ) I'm diving into Bitcoin and it's amazing to actually be making even small amounts of money with this, it's fantastic Cheesy
