It will be posted on the news feed dated tomorrow (but posted two months from now)

Awww I've been missing Phinn and his special brand of wacky. Good to see ya back brother.

I'm not making excuses, but the 2008 date of graduation could have been with a second degree or even a masters. Considering you can complete a masters in that time frame. Not by any means a definite.

I forgot to take maps 101, my school didn't offer it. I did take geography, which was fairly easy. But if you are talking about cartography you can count me out.

Worst part about the Army was Land Nav. I think that was because the course was way overgrow and the markers were all jacked up. Throwing grenades was fun though.

The thing that really pisses me off is that now I want a philly cheese-steak and everywhere here is closed.
824  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 08, 2014, 01:19:34 AM
I am happy to see an update. Hopefully those who are close could take a look into this opportunity. It could give us some insight into what is going on. I think these are probably true statements, or at the very least would make sense as to why the shipping would be slow going.

I sent an e-mail to jim this morning asking to clarify some of the issues and just answer some questions. Though I didn't get an e-mail back this post from amt did answer a question or two I had with this post.

I did say

Quote
Obviously there is a benefit to the forums in that a community can grow around your product. And especially in this business if the right people say the right things business would be flowing your way. To assert that everything on the forum is lies not only belittles those who doubt you, but also your customer base that is in your corner rooting for a company that is putting out american made ( with exception to some components) machines. Now I'm certainly not a person of any sort of influence. But I do take offence to the forums comment as I've been in there counteracting some of the xenophobic witch hunting with facts based in the real world. Like locations of manufactures and were the picture of the chips was taken as many were assuming this was some fly by night operation. I can understand the need for security for property and personnel, especially as these are highly sought after and extremely expensive products. But I don't understand the continued silence based around shipping if indeed shipping of the miners is happening and at a smooth rate.

I don't need them obviously but will each miner have a tracking number or only those that are having expedited shipping? How far in advance will you notify us that we will be receiving our machines? The delivery people here can be a little on the slow side and have left expensive packages outside my door rather than delivering them to the office. I'd like to make sure that is not going to be a problem by ensuring I'll be home when the delivery man comes. I understand late delivery is part of this market in general, especially when things are out of your hands with manufacturing. But that makes transparency, or at least having less opacity, key for dealing with groups who are ready to storm the castle or react with legal action. Some people obviously got in over their heads on a whim, but don't ignore the cooler heads that tend to prevail.

And I asked of them these questions:

Quote
So I'll pose just a few questions that hopefully you can give me some honest answers too.

1. Are all the fundamental components needed to produce the 1.2 TH miners in AMTs possession.

2. How many miners is AMT capable of properly assembling in one hour, one day, and one week?

3. Up through what order numbers have you shipped? Will the recipients receive tracking numbers?

4. Do you believe you can still deliver all orders as currently promised by the website, which is advertising March 31st?

5. Does anyone have a miner in hand who is willing to demo it on video. This doesn't need to be a long video.

6. Would you be willing to perform a live skype video call as proof of having a hashing ( at spec) 1.2 TH miner?

7. Would you be willing to designate someone to operate the phone for a limited number hours on a certain day of the week?

hopefully my e-mail (with what I'm sure were a ton of your own) prompted some form of communication.

If I were closer to PA I'd be there my self offering to work the phones since my skills are in customer service.

Hey say they will be ready for shipping from march 18th so at least it matches some with the revised amt timeline. At least for my miner I knew I was supposed to be getting mine end of march. so We'll see.

Where did you find "the revised amt timeline"Huh

By that  I mean the newest timeline they posted here, and as I said that is for my order, your milage may vary.

I never did get a confirmation from IMET if they were one of AMT's pcb manufacturers, but I'll take the geotagged picture as confirmation.

I did get a lovely response to an email I sent today.

Hello,

Order #1432 here aka **** Shaffer. I was just wondering if there were any updates on production of the miners. I did see a e-mail supposedly from one of your accounting people that there are still parts of the miner that are not yet invented. Is this the case? If so is there a revised timeline on the orders as I'm anticipating shipment no later than march 31st which your website still advertises.

If delays are going to occur will we be compensated with a 2.4 the miner if ROI is not attainable with the 1.2th units as per your Miner Protection Plan?

If you have indeed shipped units what order number have you shipped through. Any information you have would be valuable. If you were to update your news section with each lot of miners shipped it, it would help ease worry about your ability to get the miners assembled. Currently many people think you are scamming but, I'm not of them. A little  information in good faith would go a long way towards easing fears. I know you have everyone and their brother pulled for miner assembly, but if you could have someone, anyone, perhaps someone with no arms incapable of assembling the miners manning the phone it would be appreciated.

I've left multiple legitimate messages on the phone each time with the voicemail insuring me of a prompt response within 24 hours.

Jim's response:

Curt,

Production is running smoothly and we are shipping. We have yet to find the time for updates and forum is just a world of lies. Everything is fine and your is on track.

All the best
jim

So incase you were wondering we are a WORLD OF LIES. And though there are those of us on either side of the debate we are all seemed to be lumped together as liars.

So stop lying to me guys, everything is running smoothly and the ARE shipping.
828  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 06, 2014, 10:06:14 AM
So still no word?

I called their fax line to see if I'd get the modem sound, but the fax number is no longer valid. Though to be fair I never called it so it may never have been valid. I wonder what would happen if we showed up, with our paid invoices in hand, only instead of showing up by ourselves we showed of with some of philadelphia's finest accompanying us? I dropped 5K+ on the miner it's no thing for me to drop a couple hundred for a plane ride.

Maybe we could have an AMT customer appreciation gathering outside their office. Phin could hold one outside the mason lodge if he wants though.

We could build a bonfire and make sure we bring torches to light it, and pitch forks.... the throw more hay on the fire.

And if nothing else I get a genuine philly cheese steak while I'm in town.
829  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 06, 2014, 02:04:50 AM
I heard they were planning on shipping today regular cased 1.2's and in 1-2 days rack cased 1.2's, but I haven't been able to reach anyone over the phone to confirm it. I heard the board problems have been resolved for now.

where did you gain this information.
He heard it through the grapevine.

Damn it now I want raisins.

For those of you interested in pursuing legal routes with AMT miners this will get the ball rolling in Delaware County PA.

http://www.co.delaware.pa.us/consumeraffairs/complaint.pdf

I challenge someone to tell me one instance of AMT saying they will do something and then following through with it.

NO EMAILS FROM AMT
AMT DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONES
THEY WILL NOT RETURN MESSAGES LEFT
THEY WILL NOT POST ANY UPDATES
THEY CONTINUE TO LIE

WHERE IS THAT REFUND YOU "THREATENED" ME WITH AMT. I DONT WANT YOUR CRAP PRODUCT. I WANT A REFUND.

Have you faxed them yet?

Can you fax them a copy of your complaint?
831  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 05, 2014, 08:17:28 AM
So if we don't see AMT miners hit, in what the next one or two weeks, we know they really screwed the pooch?

I for one welcome our chinese knock off overlords.
832  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 05, 2014, 04:54:13 AM
Or the Technobit HEX8A1? To my knowledge, that was the first working A1 design to ship. Bitmine is now shipping. They have their queue all fubar, but they are shipping.

Apparently so is Dragon, which appear to be "unlicensed" A1 knockoffs. But initial reports look like pretty solid machines.

To date, though, the best company remains Bitmain. I do hope they're working on a next gen chip, since the Ants are such solid beasties.

Looking for the post now... I think I did reply, something about the voltage-regulation issues. They were using a raw link from the VR to the chip, and the PWM frequency of the VR was screwing with the chips operation. He added a decent capacitor and a resistor between the two, and that resolved some of the issue. The rest might have actually required an RF torrid choke. (I actually suggested a mini ultra-capacitor, which would have yielded pure constant voltage. Works better when the frequency changes on the VR chip. Requires no "tuning", which limits actual ability to the range of voltage/frequency of the cap/resistor combo you install.)

Still having trouble finding the post.
I would be surprised if they try to trade their left chips for oem machines like dragons or something and print their logo on them Grin I am wandering how many chips have they left because of their manufacturing process Grin

Enough for one machine they will paint it gold and add angels to it. It will hash at 1 PH and puts off so much heat you have to carry miner by the poles it's mounted on. It will be powered by the QI wireless standard.
If you attempt to open it for repairs it will melt the face of you and your Nazi friends.
833  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 05, 2014, 02:38:24 AM
Maybe we should just start sending them Faxes.

Has any one resorted to that yet?

Piles of papers would be far more annoying then e-mails they don't have to check.

Hell they probably have the faxes going straight to the computer anyway.

Did you guys see this one

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2014/03/03/why-the-tsa-hassled-a-traveler-with-bitcoin-in-his-bag/

This is hilarious, I feel much safer traveling with these guys on the job

I was considering applying for the TSA, but then realized I wouldn't be able to stand the stupidity.

Perhaps I'll aim for another governmental agency, see if any my my military experience can get me a job.

SO HIGH IT DOESN'T EXIST, you must be the Worshipful Worshipful Master Master mason , know throughout all halls

I understand everyone wants this work out; so do I - but let's not be ignorant to the facts at hand here.

I'm also very concerned about all the scammy startups that have made that Chester Pike address their 'home base'. It seems Joshua Zipkin (Founder of AMT) or his father, has made a living creating bogus corporations and businesses.

It's no wonder they have been deflecting attention from themselves this whole time, I cannot imagine how they would even begin to explain some of these "coincidences" between all of those bullshit startup companies, and AMT. It's just easier to hope people don't DIG into their past, and if questions arise: ignore them.

I have been trying to be ignorant to avoid depression but each day I become more "enlightened"

Does this mean my order jumps to the front of the line Grin

That just depends what degree mason you are.

1/3 of businesses don't survive the first year. At 5 years only 1/3 of the original businesses are left standing. Something tells me there is going to be quite a bit of turnover in an office space, I've seen similar things at home. A company is going and looks like everything is going great then boom out of business. Sadly it happened to a few of my favorite restaurants.

Picking one building you associate with a company and then tracking the businesses in that building proves nothing. When we don't bother to actually think how common something is (like a business going under) mere coincidences start to look like they add up to something that isn't really happening.

I wonder how many professional buildings have opened, filled their offices with tenets and never had a single one leave, due to business going under or need for expansion, or being bought out. my guess is not many.
838  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 04:40:33 PM
AMT, Do you have any updates?

rofl... your enthusiasm makes me chuckle casir. it's not too late for you. if you havent purchased yet take your money and run. jesus christ man they basically shut the door on your face and you still want to give them money? go to KNC and at least have some piece of mind. i have been waiting since Nov.11th and you think this is a fluke?

/facepalm

I know you've been waiting since the 14th of november, but if you follow bitmine's news section you'll see the chips weren't finished on time so nov 14th never would have happened. No 1.2 th miner could possibly ship any earlier than january 30th. And it would likely be a bit after for AMT if they are using bitmine's board.

Even then bitmine didn't claim t was shipping until the week of the 12th of february.

So if AMT got their chips 2 days after bitmine which seems to be the case from their post and the date via the EFIX . They could have started shipping at the earliest the 15th of Feb if they didn't run into any problems at all along the way. Now if they are using bitmine's design that was released to the public on feb 12th then AMT would have to order the boards and wait for production before they could have started assembly. Which realistically put them in the time frame we are running right now.

I'm not sure how many orders your pal toots is tracking but it seems to be a small fraction of the orders, so the only way we'll hear about it is if one of us receives it and then comes here to post about it.

I know that isn't going to be my first concern if I receive my miner. I'm going to set it up, then monitor it and make sure everything is running smoothly then maybe I'll get back here in a day or two depending on work to up date.

839  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 10:36:08 AM
I guess what I'm really most surprised by is how much ethnicity has played a role in any of this. Either in the for or against camp.

840  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 03, 2014, 07:38:55 AM
I'm not sure the break down of his post were warranted or necessary.

I'm going to laugh though if the site reads that march shipping is available come april.
