The logistic curve models an idealization of the fact that nothing grows forever.  Every market matures, or approaches saturation.  The logistic curve probably has little practical use for predicting price, but expecting unbounded exponential increase is even less realistic.

I thought the Excel method I linked to in the previous post looked like the simplest way to curve-fit data on the logistic.

It's been a long time since I last done such exercises (2013-14). But until then, the logistic just was the best fit to the prices. As we know, the best fit is the one with least average deviation from the dataset. Many were voicing their opinions then as well as now, supporting some other trendline model. I'd like to see the R^2 values to support the opinions.

The game master seems more interested in being the game master than dealing with such structural matters, which is his prerogative, but at the moment it looks like no one is actively working on an exchange listing.

Correct. I am the GM, and since my time is limited to 24/7 as it is with all of us, I have decided to spend it mainly on matters that no one else has authority to do in the game, based on its rules.

As mentioned in this thread before, making tokens out of the game items and listing them on exchanges, is free for everyone to do, and consequently I am very happy to see this initiative going forward.

The Coronation - Event Time and All Sub-Events with possibility to win Gems


The coronation live event will be held in November 19th-22nd 1642 (officially summer 1640..) that is Saturday June 4th, 2016, at 19 UTC lasting about 3 hours. It happens in IRC freenode ##crypto-kingdom.


Everyone who wants to "attend" Coronation, and not be present in the live event, should message "Crown" ingame latest a month (24 hours) before the  event, and make sure his stats for the sub-events are registered in the appropriate places by admins (other than me). This overrides all previous possible messages on the subject.


The Sub-Events that may win prizes are as follows:


Sharpshooter (Pistol-shooting contest)

Residence (Lifestyle contest)

This contest evaluates the style of the players. Each House may participate only once (with the main character). The things evaluated are:
- Style of the Residence/Villa (only one each may exist per character, their IC payouts are summed up)
- Style of Carriage(s)
- Quality of Horses in personal Stables
- Size and Quality of Wardrobe (Unique suits and SFS items)
- Number and Stature of household items (Gold, Silver and Ming China cutlery and tableware; Italian Furniture; Mirrors)
- ART items in the house.
King determines the order of lifestyle status, and hence, prizes.

Coronet (item contest)
- King determines the order of stature of Coronets (with no regard to the level of the owner) and this is recorded as permanent information in the item details as well for the awe of future generations.

Sophomore (beauty contest)

Everyone started in 1601-1619 are eligible. Tell about yourself and your game, what you think of CK, what your character aims to accomplish and how it is going, etc. This will need to be done beforehand on the thread, or copypasted to the IRC window in the live event. Popular vote determines who gets the prizes.

Freshman (beauty contest)

Everyone started in 1620-1639 are eligible. It shows that we have 665 TAI-1 existing, which might be about right. It will be very interesting to see how it turns out. For sure the "meantime" before the Clans is out, will be as interesting as the shifting to the Clans as the NPCC will now have access to cheap suits, which they however need to sell to the players (and gain points in the meantime) before the era of NPCC is finished.

The GM event was played on live IRC solver, with the following results:

Upon large spends of SCI, it was deduced that the following parties had the following chances of being the mastermind:

Then it was determined by d20, who the culprit was. Events were played, resulting in the gaining back of 4/9 aquilas. The story was similar in all the eyewitnesses (some were taken without witnesses though): short and well-built nice people with accent were making friends with the guardians of the aquilas, and at the same moment (determined by the time it took for the news to reach CryptoTown), lured the guardians to a drinking binge using imported VOD, and stole the item. Our select horses were better than theirs, so a basic interception worked in most cases, and a few of the suspects remain for interrogation.

An additional round was arranged where the King had send all available forces to Petrichor to blockade the river. (It was at that time known that the culprit was not the Rossiyans nor any of the far foreign powers. An additional 3 aquilas were caught. Only 2 remained missing, and the trail of evidence points to the North. What if Louhi is not dead? Or her heir has assumed the throne? Or what is behind all this?

The Kingdom has enjoyed peace ever since Louhi was assumed dead, Embassy of Sweden was built, Ironlock was secured and Prince(pending) kronicblazer was ransomed from the Polonian rebels. Perhaps our security had taken a vacation because about the same time terrible news reach CryptoTown from all the corners of the realm: 10 Ancient Battle Aquilas cannot be found! This leaves us with 17 only, and our enemies with 10!    Embarrassed Shocked  Undecided

All COA-items had a 20-40% chance of being stolen by various treacherous means by unknown actors, with the exception of 0% for Forte Spagnolo (because no one is allowed to the castle due to latest events) and 100% for SirJacket (which was already captured by King of Polonia forces and is assumed to be in Polonian rebels' hands). Most active, disciplined and large troops had 20% chance; smallest and sloppiest troops or outright storaged items had 40%.

This is clearly done by a concerted action and we do not know the enemy yet. Prompt SCI spending might give clues as to the whereabouts of these items and their possessor/s. They are believed to give the ancient boost of 20%/30% to the Command to enemies as well as to us. If nothing else helps, they can be captured in the battlefield against the enemy if they bring it against our forces.

Spend SCI towards getting info on a stolen aquila by CONSUME SCI amount [item_id]. Timestamp matters.

Prompt spenders of SCI towards the Medicine of Youth project (CONSUME SCI amount [MoY]) get a ridiculously good return:
- Each SCI spent (max 300 per character) gives one ticket in the MoY-raffle
- The existing project (currently managed by Royal House as Zenon was merged to it) has 7,000 tickets, corresponding to the 7000/10000 readiness (no foreign help has been received on this one)
- All the time, hassle, facilities and ingredients (including the base VOH for each bottle of the elixir) have been/will be paid by the project at no compensation
- The final number of bottles (probably around 500) will be raffled to the tickets.

Please see for yourself if there is quota left. The excess SCI spent will be returned.

King's managed characters have a 24 hour moratorium before they may act on this.

It does not make sense to import something as heavy as furniture from something as far as Italia, unless it is seriously awesome.

The last time a major new set of house necessities/luxuries was introduced, was already 21 years ago (Ming China). The Italian Furniture is similar in the way that:

- it has in total 18 different items, each fungible;
- different items in the series fit together well;
- convertible from IC in unlimited amounts but for limited time only, no future production of the same items;
- is the icebreaker/flagship series of an item type that will also have less prestigious alternatives in the future;
- is therefore a collectible.

The pieces are Most Elaborate or Very Elaborate, so you will certainly find lesser quality more cheaply in the future, but this model is not obtainable at all except for the limited time (will be announced 1 year in advance and end latest 1648-1650 when the Quartermillennial Silver Tableware comes).

The prices range 10...500 IC and the item levels K4...K9.

Does being good at the game matter, or is it not a skill-based game?

Say if i wanted to get involved (if the game interests me enough) and make a guide, would that be charity, or are the incentives to make a good guide?

The reward for playing the game comes from the rise in asset values if the thing succeeds (and loss of them if not). Same as in every coin.

The game has many elements, in some of them, it "matters" if you are "good" (eg running a business), in others it's just fun and no financial gain. if you buy stocks, you get the same return as the other stockholders regardless of your "performance".

The guide maker was just contracted this week, so watch out for the game becoming ever more easier to get involved with!!  Grin

1. Corporate governance.

A: The company must have CEO, his salary and perks, mission, and dividend policy listed in the item details page.
AA: The above, plus dated NAV calculation, which is updated when it changes materially and/or profit/loss statements or projections.
AAA: 10 years of flawless track record in "AA" level.
B: Gaps in CEO performance related to what the info says or other small issues, or the info sheet is inadequate or partly outdated.
C: Info missing.

2. Ownership

A: The company is widely owned and nobody has absolute majority (over half).
AA: The company is widely owned and nobody has over 1/3.
AAA: The company is very widely owned and nobody has over 1/4.
B: Ownership is concentrated, or someone owns absolute majority.
C: Very concentrated ownership.

3. Markets

A: The stock has active aftermarket and though there is spread, it is possible to find a good price to buy and sell with some time at hand.

Before Clans, there is the Building Repair Editor (or how you call it - additions to the Building Editor that was released partially ready)


And this one finalises the Building module, and is not a small thing. Because it also completes the rehaul of Urban Land module.

To move on with the longer-term design goals, the lots would inherit most of the properties of Chapelries, and new land would come pre-zoned in most cases.

- Farming (S-VE1) and weed harvesting (S-CAN) would be possible in lots directly, no need a chapelry.
- They would be automatised, with "designate to VEG / designate to CAN" automatically granting the production shares.
- If you want to build, the "de-toggle" from farm/weed, would require the number of shares to be able to be done.
- This can be used as an option to tap on the land you don't want to sell nor build yet - just sell its produce and buy back when ready.
- The granularity of the said shares will be increased to allow small lots to be used as well.
- Quarry geology will likewise be lot-specific (initially the same for all lots in a chap), so everyone may quarry a small area if they so wish, to gain stone or improve the building foundations.
- Quarry points (QUA) can be produced in Quarry companies, as well as Building points in BuildCo's. They can be used to quarry the lot in an instant.
- Lots would have "elevation" in meters (voxels). This is not used for much just yet, but it's nice to know if you have views over the city or flood risk. Later, this will be baked in to the formulas as well.

- Wood buildings will come in a simplified form, with the aim of getting new players "more skin to the game". Also they need to have a stone place before getting to L6, so there will be an active market for wood houses that do not produce except to the resident (and thus are better sold).
- Lots with existing buildings have several options:

* Quick Repair structure (increases Repair% a little, small part of Lux% is converted to IC (half lost))
* Complete Repair structure (all Lux stripped off and converted to IC (half lost); Repair% reset to 100%) - this will cost half of the original construction of the structure, so demolish is always an option
* Lux update (increases Lux% at the usual cost)
* Demolish (converts the whole building to its parts (STO1 and windows, half of Lux is credited as IC, work is lost)
* Add floor (increase the # of floors at normal cost, the new floor requires same Lux% and inherits the existing Repair%)

Lot splitting will remain admin action due to too many variables regarding the Visibility and Commerciality calcs. The admins doing this will be instructed well and there will be a standard procedure and fee for the owner to apply these changes.

Town is selling land to anyone at a fixed price of 1,000 mil per chapelry.


The urban land in the game is based on chapelry (150x100 m) as the basic unit. A chapelry has one of the following statuses:

1) unopened (belongs to the OldDuchy and may be purchased by Town at the buyer's discretion - 117 exist)

2A) raw (whole chapelry where no business has started (these are for sale at a fixed price) - 8 exist)

2B) raw (owned by someone else but the Town - 19 exist)

3) active farm (19 exist)

4) active quarry (none exist, probably a mistake as some should)

5) quarried (with nothing to do but to zone it - 7 exist)

6) zoned (appearing in the Lot registry - 55 exist)


Town is selling the following chapelries:

6-N, 3 hardness, 722 quarry geology   
6-NW, 2 hardness, 110 quarry geology
6-SE, 3 hardness, 960 quarry geology
6-SW   , 3 hardness, 841 quarry geology

If the topsoil is removed, the hardness gets better by 1 (ones with "3" can be made "2" and the process yields the stone deposits as well). It is however unlikely that this would make a commercial success. The topsoil is thick, and "3" is already a very decent hardness as for the durability for buildings. All except 6-NW are farmable.

Farming yields 65*S-VE1 that may be sold but need to be returned if the farming is discontinued. Building a farm is 5,000*BLD (nonrefundable).

A farmed chap may be quarried, but not the other way.

Any chap may be zoned, but not returned to other use when this is done.

If you want to buy any of these now, do it. NewCorp already bought 3 over the last 2 weeks.

The Town has obligation to have 10% of the "opened" area in unsold raw chaps, and this means that new land will be opened soon in some way. We have already used many Smiley These may initially be higher than 1,000 mil per chap, but unlikely lower as Town has the monopoly on new land.

Bug fixed in building payout calculations:

The newest buildings when constructed, have had their repair=0.00 instead repair=1.00. This has caused them to "enjoy" -60% payouts in some pools and -30% in others. The Building Editor has reported the values with this error, and also the error has been saved to the building stats.

All the newly built ones with repair=0, will be set to repair=1 today. Also the new building generation will be fixed. To compensate for the loss of income, the ones in 1639-1640 that were affected in the double round, get 1.05 as their starting repair, and better future payouts.

I heard you can make one over the weekend. But then what? It is a lifelong commitment to the piece of software, 24/7 technical support, no salary.

My character died quite a while ago. She had a significant amount of property in form of gold and moneretos, including direct purchases with XMR at early phase of the game. Now every item shows 0. Why? I thought characters can push their heritage forward to their heirs?

The TOS says as follows:

"TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION OF ACCOUNT

Each character has one account, each player may have many characters and thus accounts.

The account will be terminated as an administrative procedure if:

A few weeks neglect makes the character starve to death, after which the heir inherits the assets of the character. If death happened intestate, there is a 1 month grace period for the account holder to manage the estate of the deceased with original account. After this, the Town escheats the assets.
If you lose the password and have not entered any recovery information, this is what happens.

The account will be terminated as a punitive measure if:

The character is convicted of Treason, and in major or repeated cases of Felony. Treason is defined as a wilful act, attempt or plot to undermine, corrupt, damage, compromise etc. of the CK's, (State of the) World's, Town's, King's, etc rule-bound authority, integrity or function. In addition to terminating the account, the character may be sentenced to death, and before that lose all assets and decorations.
Illegal immigrants may be expelled without warning. Illegal immigration means mass character farming, especially if characters are bot-controlled, but only with proof that it is done for the purpose of monetary gain rather than to enjoy the game.

The account may be suspended (temporarily blocked):

As a warning or punishment for Misdemeanor or Felony.
As a safety measure if there is reason to believe an identity theft has occurred.
If the account is used to flood the system or other similar activity.
If the character is under investigation or trial for Felony or Treason "arrest". In this case the character will be kept alive by Town-appointed health manager at the character's expense and released if found not guilty or if the verdict does not include termination."

So the assets remained yours until the claims deadline (17 Jan 2016) or (death+30), depending if you had claimed the account or not. Now they belong to the Town and have been sold and money used for marketing the game.

The only appointee to handle late claims is HH the Mayor (djjacket / SirJacket) himself. It is possible to contact him and explain the case. He seeks to use fair and equitable principles in awarding possible compensation.

IPO: Martti Tailors Corp (S-MT)

(1641) Martti Tailors Inc seeks to capitalise on the massive opportunity when the game shifts to Clans and there is a shortfall of 4,500 suits. Martti has been in the tailor business since 1629 and is the third most longstanding major tailor operator in the town, after the North Face Company and Sir Cryptonic. The company was initially structured by Martti transferring all the tailor assets (23 tailors in TAI-2 or higher and 48 suits, of which 15 green or higher) to the company, which keeping all the debts to himself. The assets were valued at 205 mil. Calculation follows in the end.

The company has 500 shares valued at 1 mil each at the IPO. Instead of getting 205 shares, Martti needs to pay back his personal debts, so receives only 45 shares and a 160 mil privileged mortgage to the company, to be paid immediately as the company receives the IPO funds. The management contract is 16 years (Martti wants to retire at 50) and priced at 5 mil per year. This is payable in shares, so Martti gets 5*16 = 80 shares, making his total ownership 125 shares (25%). The 375 shares are sold to the public, with Martti's existing business partners having priority. Everything listed is buyable by all, a part is withheld and offered to the partners.

Of the 375 mil raised, 160 goes to paying the bridge loan and 215 will be used to convert 130*TAI-1 at the excellent conversion price of 10 IC (1641 only) and buffer the increase in stock levels. To finance more production to stock, which can be sold as Clans comes live, a debt facility will also be negotiated when it is known how much the NPCC still buy and how long Clans still will take. Interested shareholders take priority with these negotiations.

* Appendix: Valuation of the existing tailors and suits and other relevant issues:

IC price used is 0.075 (mil). CUL price (negligible effect) is 0.045.

The valuation of the TAI-1 is based on their conversion now = 0.750.

The life expectancy of all NPC is 3/0.13 = 23 years. In practice, to take into account the variance and profit requirement, they are trading at about 10-20 years profit in the market. TAI-2...TAI-5 were appraised at 10 years profit. Since they promote more readily (15-20%) than spoil (13%), the lifetime value is calculated conservatively at one level higher than current. The value of their production is calculated at suit book price, which is 62.5% of the IC conversion price, which is an extremely conservative assumption, but also takes into account the carry cost before most of the suits can be sold. This lead TAI-2 and TAI-3 to be valued at 5.000, TAI-4 at 12.450 and TAI-5 at 16.150.

The suits existing were estimated to suffer 2 spoils before they can be sold to the peak demand at the conversion price. This assumes that Clans comes latest before the spoil of 1649 (about July 22th). It is scheduled to come sooner, even much so.

Martti's experience and immaterial capital was valued at zero. However, the modest 5 mil management fee (compared to the 10-40 mil that King pays to the managers of his companies) will be paid as a lump sum for 16 years, and is not refundable if the AGM ousts Martti from the position.

In connection with Clans, Vegetables will finally assume the life-and-death importance they have in people's nutrition to this day (well, especially if grain is counted).

VEG is produced from several types of S-VEx shares, which are different based on their distance to CryptoTown. Longer distance means:
- higher transport cost
- longer transport time (delay in arrival)
- more chance of spoil by heat/frost in transport.

An hourly script will determine yields and spoils to cause a realistic yearly circulation and fulfilling the important principle that the system current state is public, but the future state is unknown to all except as a scenario universe. This for instance causes "fair" (not GM-administered) shortages of food and also bumper crops.

During harvest season, a small amount of VEG is coming to the owners every hour. This abolishes the need to lurk to catch the admin-random creation time, and leaves some incentive to check after every full hour, whether the frequency is after every, second, 4, or 12 hours.

The declining health value of VEG will serve as the pressure, ensuring that VEG gets eaten as soon as possible. On the other hand, the frequencyBonus will be refocused on FOOD alone, discouraging the eating of Superveg alone. And the market will take care of the rest Smiley

In the new system, automated purchase and consumption of staple items (VEG, MEAT, CAN, MEAD, BEER) is enabled by timed commands happening every week, at your chosen time. Also it is about certain that futures markets will develop to offer fixed price VEG streams to the consumer, with the issuer bearing the market risk and getting their cut.

Town Council Meeting - Prioritisation of New Modules and Features

Jewelry Editor - allowing Coronation to happen with the posh jewelry to be made for it, and the allocation of the rest of the gems, which have risen a lot in value in the aftermarket

Building Changes Editor - allowing demolishing of buildings and reclaim of materials, adding floors to buildings, adding more sqm if the lot has free space, adding lux, repairing the structure, changing window type and decorating the facade.

Buildings will also have their repair_depreciation started so that they will start to require repairs. The median age for the need of structural repair is 150 years, but it has a large variance based on the soil type and building type, and also many of the old buildings are already in need of repair due to being 100+ years old. Early structural repair also increases the payout, especially if the payout is CUL or SCI.

Clans

Complete rehaul in the Character mechanic, including the ClanChallenge requiring the player to feed and clothe the NPC he employs.

This also includes Wood Buildings, which can be built in preset modules one per year at almost zero cost, and may only by utilised by L1-L5 players.

Countryside, Army

Complete rehaul of production shares, event solver, loot, manors, forts, global map etc.

PRE will be gained normally and STOx may be produced to stock. Good MGN+Army in the meantime will be accounted for in the initial distribution of production shares which will be tradable with disclaimer. (The prodshares are more than before since the ClanChallenge requires about double the amount of consumables compared to the NPCC era.)

The NPC suits requirement in ClanChallenge is so large that I decided to work overtime and crunch all the numbers immediately to enable everyone to plan to their best. The profit potential for a well-planned and nimble operation is immense, and the TAI-items are completely linear in their payout, so everyone is exactly on the same position to make money, according to their skills and resources.

The numbers currently existing in each item type and their required numbers of each type of suit are listed in Google DB /SuitsNeed tab, freely viewable by all and current as of 3 hours ago.

The numbers are based on the design decision (from the first days of the game) that 15% of income is to be spent on suits (in fact, it was 20% then). 35% is to be spent on consumables and 50% will still be paid as salary when Clans comes - this includes rent. These kind of decisions will only be revised extremely slowly.

So we are in the position that the number of suits needed is 5400 and only 1500 exist (numbers ignore PC need and Unique suits). Suits can be converted from IC at the following prices:

(color, IC cost, approx mil)
red      144   10.08
orange 112   7.84
white     64   4.48
green     32   2.24
grey       16   1.12
brown      8   0.56

This means that tailoring is profitable in all stages, the profit margin is ample. However, the need for higher quality suits is much smaller than that of the lower quality ones. Prices may be pressured when the initial need is met.

Additional things to consider are among others:
1. The "labor suits" are priced in IC, so its fluctuations affect the profitability both ways.
2. TAI-7 may not be the best item now as it produces blue suits for a limited number of nobles, however the playercount is planned to increase by not a small percentage, at about the same time that it takes for a TAI-1 to promote to TAI-7.
3. Unique suits production is extremely limited until more TAI-8 get promoted.
4. It is possible to demote a NPC so undesired promotion can be reversed. This is currently an admin action, but will be a command "soon".
5. Tailors promote reasonably quickly, mostly 20% chance. Exact numbers are in item details or in Google/NPCtypes.
6. The influx of new tailors is a given, this increases the need for suits as tailors wear green+.
7. Also the other NPC numbers are on the rise - or perhaps not because there is an initial cost burden per NPC to acquire the minimum stock. Everything will happen very slowly, though, so dumping the NPC right when they (especially high level) will become prized assets might not be the best decision either.
8. The TAI-1 conversion price of 10 IC until the end of this year is peanuts, and a rise is most likely. It is possible to produce to stock. The unknown is when the module is live - I am going to Malla for a few weeks, which historically has been excellent design-productivity. The design is now "almost complete", which can mean anything. The development time should be very contained, perhaps a week for the "suit challenge".
9. If the module delays, the NPCC will continue to use suits, but excess production will meet declining prices (the NPCC can absorb infinite number but their profit formula requires the additional ones to come at a discount). The increased awareness of the importance of suits may cause the NPCC to bid more heavily on them, as historically they have ignored the suits even though they are the key to victory.
10. When the module opens, there is first a 2 year grace that the lacking number of suits will not cause penalty to the owner of the NPC. Then, according to my discernment (which will be communicated as it comes), the penalty will take 5-10 years to rise to the planned level approximately linearly. At the same time the happiness bonus for having excess suits will start from a higher-than-normal value and decrease to the planned level approximately linearly.
11. The NPCC remaining suits will be sold at market when the NPCC ends, so that the NPCC will get points for the money raised. The money goes to Town in the end. This procedure will be announced in advance so that at least 48 hours is given for placing the bids before the dump may start, and the total liquidation time is a year.
12. There is no planning to change the style of WOS-x1 to WOS-x2, so there will be only one model of fungible suit of each color for the time being.

I felt it necessary to disclose every bit of info there could possibly be, to make the playing field level. Crunch the numbers, make a plan and make money! Martti will be doing that, and King as well (if not for other reason, he has   s o m e w h a t   m a n y   NPCs to clothe, himself Cheesy ).
