Happy halving day, everyone! The last four years have been very productive. Bitcoin was
so much smaller in 2012 -- it's sometimes hard to believe how much the community, technology, and economy have expanded. I hope that the next four years are even better!
As for the price, I'm sort of expecting it to go the same as last time: nothing major in the short-term, but an increasing degree of upward pressure over the course of a few months due to the reduced supply of BTC.
'Twas the night before halving, when all through the chain
Not a miner was stirring, not even Bitmain's
The Trezors were hung by the paper wallets with care,
In hopes that Satoshi soon would be there;
The full nodes were checking that all blocks were right;
While visions of freedom make our future bright
I celebrated with a couple of beers, but reading this made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Time to bring out some milk and cookies. And pizza!
Happy halving everyone!
