@jamyr I've been called a bot quite a few times in the past Some bots would be cool, was talking to @TryNinja back when the server was new for a way to link users in Discord to their users here. That might still be of interest. So far, there are no bots on the server. In part because, generally speaking, I'm reluctant about adding things that might not be useful. But as a to-do list for the server, some useful bots andd local channels might be interesting.

Would be nice if @mprep @Cyrus or @hilariousandco can remove the Signature from this User because if he get banned or locked the Signature are still there. I will write that in my report i will do for sure .
That signature has been removed. Its now over a Year when i started this Thread , i think its time for a bit statistic what we all achieved with that.
Good job, thank you everyone!

Happy Birthday theymos! Had to post here as well

I'm not the one who should make the announcement here, hello?
Duly noted! I announced the contest in Games and Rounds to be fair to others that might want to participate: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5250227Let the Bitcoin Pizza Day bake off begin!

I started a Discord server for the 2020 Halving, which you can read and discuss about here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5247383There's currently another contest going on, for the Bitcoin Pizza Day (if you don't know what that is about, you can read about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137 ). The rules of the contest are in the #pizza-day-event channel. It's basically a bake off of Bitcoin themed pizzas where everyone can vote on the entries . Contest ends on May 23 23:59PM GMT. Voting closes May 26 23:59PM GMT. Current prize pool: 0.011BTC.

For anyone wondering what the Discord was like during the halving event here's some screenshots which captured some of the stand out moments:
Thanks for archiving this! Added a link to your post in the OP. @Cyrus list the channels which are already created, so people will know what we have Good idea, I updated the OP and formatted it a bit better.

Welcome to the server! If there's interest, sure, we can do that. But the caveat remains, please treat it as fun and public place I'll link the part of the OP that mentions it. If we do this, I'll probably add further details and warnings. - We don't verify members. If you see a familiar user there there's no guarantee that it's not an impersonator (if there's interest, I might add a custom role to users that want and link their user here with the Discord server).

Basically, what Welsh just said. I have 170 bad reports from back in the day and can relate to the frustration of an accidental click or a mistake. When thinking of implementing a feature to solve a problem you need to: 1. Figure out if there's actually a problem to solve. 2. Make sure the fix/feature takes into account all foreseeable interactions. IE: what will happen when a moderator starts looking into that report then the reporter deletes it in the meantime, that would be frustrating - also a new way to spam. Ideas are appreciated and not all ideas start off as brilliant. Thank you everyone for reporting, to quote from the report page: Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.

Happy Halving 2020 everyone!
That was a pretty good summary eality. Congrats to BitCryptex and other winners! Thank you everyone for participating!
Popularity was higher than I anticipated and people seem to enjoy it so as suggested, this server will continue. We managed to whip up some contests hours before the halving, I think it would be fun to have more of those. And in general, come up with things that help/complement the Bitcointalk experience. Ultimately, Discord is a different beast all together and in a best case scenario, down the road new users might discover Bitcoin and Bitcointalk through it.

Short PSA, there are two running contests right now, there's still a bit of time to participate.

Yes, this one shouldn't expire. Thanks!

Cool posters and memes! BTW, changed the invite link: https://discord.gg/ahgHyku (that unfortunately means the posters have an expired invite link if you're planning on sharing them). This one should work indefinitely, unless changed manually.

It's on a short notice, but thought it might be fun to hang out for the 2020 Halving event so we made a Discord server. - Apparently might be a thing now Invite link: https://discord.gg/ahgHyku (shouldn't expire)Server structureChannelsGENERALThese are the channels so far: #channel-votes (voting and gauging interest for further channels) #general (main discussion area) #bitcoin-discussion (self-explanatory, first channel added by votes) #epochtalk #collectibles LOCAL#german #russian RolesModeratorBitcointalk StaffHalving 🍕 2020 Slickage Important mentions- Don't trust Discord with any sensitive info. Act like you're in a public place/chatroom. - We don't verify members. If you see a familiar user there there's no guarantee that it's not an impersonator (if there's interest, I might add a custom role to users that want and link their user here with the Discord server). - There's only one text and voice channel for now, we'll add more as needed. - There aren't any explicit rules or guidelines yet, when in doubt - look at the Bitcointalk rules and guidelines. - The occasion the server was created is the 2020 Halving event, however it's reason is to give Bitcointalk members a place to chat. Updates:- By popular demand, the server will be used as a general place to hang out, not just for the Halving. - Over 100 150 300 members so far. - Currently doing votes on which channels to add next. - There's less drama than anyone probably expected. - Discussing how to better communicate/collaborate on Epochtalk. - Might need to get better at making announcement threads. Community support:- Thank you TryNinja for creating a signature! A quick signature for those who want to spread more about the server:

The Unofficial Bitcointalk's Discord ServerCreated by Cyrus!

- Thanks Welsh for archiving the Halving event contest hereIdeas for events, contests and whatnot are appreciated! Thanks everyone!

The information from the sticky thread should come from a trustworthy source and be updated. The way I see it, that could come from one of the devs starting a release thread, similar to the one started by achow101 which I stickied recently: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5231808Otherwise it would probably be too general, superfluous or could more easily become dangerous (obsolete info/instructions, mal-intent/hacking). The idea is not bad, it should probably be suggested to the wallet devs. It's probably been done before, but a general tutorial on how to verify software release signatures might be handy. There should be exactly one Bitcoin wallet for Android named Bitcoin Wallet for Android, made by Andreas Schildback.
