8241  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NK, Pyongyang Tests Nuclear Device on: February 13, 2013, 05:53:02 AM
I hope you don't actually believe that because the U.S are pretty much the only nation in history to have actually used a nuclear bomb in war and on civilians no less, they pretty much started it all, it was only after they won with them that they decided no one else should have them.

8243  Economy / Economics / Re: How economy grow with a deflationary currency? on: February 13, 2013, 05:34:00 AM
lmao in that case sorry for that Cheesy been dealing with a lot of trolls lately >_< there's been an influx of them on the board lately trying to bash Bitcoin and lolz it shouldn't be about gold/silver really, it's mathematics vs morons. The problem is like others you're mistaking price rises by itself for 'inflation' how can Bitcoin inflate when there's a set volume of the currency? it's impossible unless a hacker somehow developed magic and hacked it, the only time your statement could hold true is if it were a currency like the dollar which can end up inflated by criminals because of how easy it is to mess with. Inflation is the price rising because of an increase in the amount of a currency, it isn't because of price rises by itself.

The reason the prices are rising and falling so dramatically now is because the market is so small, once it increases and we get more adopters then things will start to level out, prices will still rise and fall but it should happen a lot more steadily over time and markets will be able to adjust better.

lol nice I just spotted this on google myself Smiley
8245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you discover BitCoins? on: February 12, 2013, 10:56:38 AM
You know what, I've been trying to remember myself, I think I discovered it in one of these weird rage searches that I sometimes do when I become incredibly infuriated with something, I think I was looking up about currencies and banks etc. then Bitcoin popped up and I started researching it.
8246  Economy / Economics / Re: How economy grow with a deflationary currency? on: February 12, 2013, 09:24:40 AM
I think today we should all give praise to mathematics for relieving us all of this really moronic way of thinking Tongue

Bitcool didn't you know that a deflationary currency lowers prices drastically and makes it actually easier to purchase things because of the purchasing power you have? There is nothing bad about deflationary currencies, but something tells me you're just another pro-inflation troll coming here to bash Bitcoin because you don't like how it exposes the paper currencies for what they are. Let me put this into perspective for you, if I earn just 5000 Bitcoins, I will be able to buy a full house within my lifetime, if I did the same amount of work in paper currency I would be forced to work my whole life to pay for a £60,000 - £70,000 house unless I got really lucky and struck it rich somehow. How the hell is saving up for that kind of thing 'bad'? No really, explain it to me because I just see a load of statements coming from you and no explanation.

To claim that Bitcoin is only good for speculation is ridiculous and shows you don't know anything about inflation or even simple mathematics, or have even looked at compound interest for that matter, I should also point out that the people who 'hoard' are the ones that are paying for all your spending sprees because where do you think all the money you borrow comes from? At least that's what happens in a traditional economy but thankfully we actually own the Bitcoins we have so banks can't use it for that.
8247  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The Thash rate looks to be creeping up on: February 12, 2013, 09:18:22 AM
Finally! No more stupid mining, Bitcoin will be used as an actual currency now Smiley
8248  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul Asks UN to seize RonPaul.com Domain from supporters on: February 11, 2013, 05:00:21 PM
Ron Paul is actually right, I'd be pretty pissed if some twat took my real name and used it for political purposes without asking me first, yeah you can't go around taking other peoples names and stuff and using it for your own purposes like that. To illustrate things for you, it's a bit like with filesharing, no problems with that, but if you run around claiming that you're the one who made it and distributed it then you're definitely stealing and a fucking arsehole.

I've seen cases where people have even stolen other artists work on the internet and claimed it was theirs, when confronted with proof they played the denial game.
8249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My 10 Satoshi worth. on: February 11, 2013, 08:31:13 AM
Don't coax them, don't even bother talking to them about it, as far as I'm concerned I think we're better off letting the mainstream news do the job for us the more they rant about us and how bad we are and how we're all criminals etc. the more likely we are to get noticed.
8250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Thursday I will have 20 minutes to present bitcoin to 150 businessmen/women on: February 10, 2013, 01:03:50 PM
Governments will have to ask permission the next time they want tax money from them Tongue

Oh yeah what a great point for a currency. Helps you avoid paying taxes! Hell why we're at it, we can avoid gambling regulation and buy drugs too!

I think so too! ^_^ wouldn't it be great if you had the choice of only paying taxes for useful things like healthcare instead of just bombing civilians?

8252  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's first major deflation event, and its consequences on: February 10, 2013, 10:41:59 AM
Here's the problem with the 'hoarding' naysayers logic and it's another case of ignoring basic economics and mathematics all over again, in order for these 'hoarders' to make a profit from 'hoarding' Bitcoins they have to sell them otherwise all that happens is they have a bunch of worthless coins as everyone else stops playing along with their game and doesn't buy any of them. Adding to that people bitching about people who stash away Bitcoins are forgetting that you can break up Bitcoins into eight decimals as well so even if someone did somehow get there hands on several million Bitcoins and kept them from everyone ( which is extremely unlikely ) everyone else in theory could still trade with a few hundred 'full' Bitcoins in the market.

So enough with this bullshit logic, enough with ignoring mathematics and stop spamming topics about it, as for the comments about gold being a store of value? LOL! Gold and Silver were regularly used as an actual currency for hundreds if not thousands of years the only reason it has stopped recently is because banks have found it far more convenient to just print paper money and keep the Gold and Silver for themselves no one was the wiser until recently. Paper money is a fucking con, it isn't real, they were originally used as receipts for gold and silver, the real money was stolen a long time ago and digital currencies are just enabling us to take it back, with your questions about which sector is growing I suspect unless people volunteer the information to us we probably won't ever discover which sectors are growing because of course Bitcoin is mostly anonymous.

Sorry if the tone is a bit ranty but as people have pointed out there have been several topics about this and a lot of the time it's someone who doesn't understand the subject and writes bullshit as if it's a fact. >_<
8253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin ? on: February 10, 2013, 10:30:31 AM
Well from what I understand they're basically a newish clone of Bitcoin except there's more of them and they're a bit easier to get, not many people have adopted them compared to Bitcoins and they're definitely not worth a lot right now. This is the main website for them but right now it's down http://litecoin.org/ beyond that there isn't really that much more to say about Litecoin I don't think but it is a good idea to have more currencies out there to compete, just a question of whether everyone else thinks the same way.

In short, guy with mod powers first shamelessly stole my logo idea, screwed all other designers as well and then locked the thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137514.0

While I am a graphic designer, and I don't personally approve of spec work, this bounty WAS SPEC WORK. He said very clearly in the OP it would go on as long as it needed to, that is your cue to expect nothing for sure. If he actually used your logo I could see that being an issue, but did he? Additionally I have worked with Xenland before and despite all the accusations flying around lately, in my experience he is an honest person who would not be interested in robbing forum members.

Didn't get what you meant by spec work at first but now I think I do you meant speculative right? lol Tongue If so that's basically right, I've given up trying to pursue this kind of bullshit because no artist that considers themselves worth anything will work for free ( which is essentially what these contests are ) with only a 'chance' of getting paid afterwards. You have to bear in mind that most people who post these contests up are looking for one major thing and that is a cheap outsourced logo and that's exactly what they're going to get in return for the kind of work they're offering.

While there are some occasional honest people who put them up you're more than likely to have them either run out on you if you make something they like or they'll take months to respond properly, never work for free, never let people screw you over and never let them think they are morally right for messing with people for so long. As an added warning, this is an extremely common problem with any Freelancer work and it basically stems from naive people being taken advantage of.
8256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone else hate posting restrictions? on: February 10, 2013, 07:31:31 AM
For moderators and admins spam bots have to be the most annoying nuisance in the whole world to deal with, imagine if you got non-stop telemarketing calls that wouldn't persist unless you pulled the phone cord, that's basically what it's like when you're the admin of an internet forum. Even with the newer forums the wankers still find a way to get in and spam the shit out of everything on their profiles etc. It's nothing personal but this and banning I.P's is so far the only real solution that anyone has of stopping these twats, captcha's don't really work and tend to annoy the legitimate people who visit websites so that's not really much of an option.

This is also why you have some places that are invite only because spam bots aren't intelligent enough to get past that yet and of course most normal people aren't going to go out of there way to register to an invite only site and pass invites to them.
8257  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you had 10 million to invest... how much would you invest in btc? on: February 10, 2013, 06:59:40 AM
10% but I'd make sure it was backed up offline so it couldn't get stolen easily.

Then I'd invest the rest in gold, silver oil and anything else that will retain its value.
8258  Other / Off-topic / Has Bitcoin improved your work ethic at all? on: February 10, 2013, 06:45:55 AM
So, we've finally found the answer to governments who think they can just devalue the currencies we use every time they get themselves into trouble, but what has it done for our day to day lives? For me I found it actually helped with my work! Because I don't have to worry about my money becoming worthless in the next year or so I find I'm actually working far more than I was before just because of the control I can now have over my own finances.

Has anything similar happen to you? Or is it just the same old work pattern for you?
8259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can someone explain something to me? on: February 10, 2013, 06:32:30 AM
It will happen, just you wait, kicking myself into working on things now too because I know any money I earn isn't going to be worthless in a year or two.
