There is no safe investment? You mean ever ? Like if I drew up a contract and put into escrow your entire investment in case of default. That wouldn't be a safe investment ? It's guaranteed! You sound like a home wanna be investment guru. You might want to put a disclaimer on the advice your giving.

Treasuries (especially T-bills) are considered to be risk-free because they are backed by the U.S. government. But there's no guarantee that the government won't default, or that the dollar won't have been inflated by more than the rate of return by the time your investment matures.

The escrowed contract you propose has a risk of the escrow refusing to return the funds, and also of the escrowed amount losing value due to inflation while in escrow. It is not risk free.

I am not giving advice. I am attempting to warn your potential victims that you are promoting a scam to them.

Coin does seem scammy...No whitepaper...cmon

THE TRUTH ABOUT BITCONNECT - BY JETI KNIGHT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59QLTvq20f4&t=2249s

That is a video by Trevon James, a known bitconnect promoter. He makes thousands of dollars per day referring people to the scam. Of course he is going to defend it.

At 41:42 in that video he says "until bitconnect misses a payment, misses a release of peope's funds once their period is over, misses a payment on a referral, until that happens they are showing every day that they are a legit service with a legit platform".

This is nothing more than the typical Ponzi scammer argument that "it is still paying so it can't be a scam".

All Ponzi scams pay out until they stop paying out. Payment doesn't show that it's a "legit service". Bernie Madoff was paying out for years before stopping. Pirateat40 was paying out huge returns for months before stopping. The pattern is the same for all Ponzis.
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 16, 2017, 07:18:42 PM
It seems by evidence your wrong!

Which evidence shows that I am wrong? Please present it.

Your are not an expert in what your claiming.

I have seen many many similar Ponzi schemes play out. They all pay out unrealistic rates of interest at the start, and then stop paying at the end.

What makes you think that this one will be any different?

Even if I tried to apply common sense to your argument.

OK, why don't you try that? It would be fun to see.

Because you claim antidotal hersay without citing any back up ?

Here's the only evidence I need, taken from the bitconnect site:

See how they offer at least 0.25% interest per day, in addition to whatever the bot makes? That is unsustainable.

You are basically like anyone else trying to talk crap about something, you think you know about. Calling you a Hater speaks to your motive and is an argument. When you have no real factual basis/proof to say what your saying.

I'm pointing out that a Ponzi is a Ponzi. That's something I know about. I don't hate the Ponzi, but I do want to warn potential innocent victims about it. If they read my warning and lose their money anyway then well, at least I tried.

Have you contacted the company via email and asked them about your concerns ?

No, I have not. It is clear that they are lying. Why would I want more lies?
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 16, 2017, 07:08:04 PM
Assuming it is a ponzi scheme, what's wrong with that?

There's nothing wrong with running a Ponzi scheme if you are honest about it being a Ponzi scheme.

But if you dishonestly claim it is a guaranteed investment, a safe way to invest your Bitcoins, that the sure profit comes from lending to a trading bot, etc. then hopefully you can see what's wrong with that.

You are right my friend, there's no safe investment even bitcoin sometimes has a dip in it's price

No, you misunderstand me. Of course there is no safe investment. The point I am trying to make is that real investments don't promise unrealistic returns. Nobody guarantees that buying Bitcoin will double your wealth within a year, because it might not. Yet Bitconnect claims to earn you 0.25% or more every day, guaranteed.

It's the dishonesty that makes this a scam. Not the fact that "even bitcoin sometimes has a dip in it's price".
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 16, 2017, 07:05:11 PM
[If] the bots are accurate which they have proved to be in the past months its a pretty good investment.

How have "the bots" been proved to be accurate at all? Have they even been proved to exist?

This is a regular Ponzi scam. The returns you have been seeing in the past months are paid for by new "investors" giving the scam their money. At some point the rate of new investment fails to keep up with the exponentially increasing rate of growth of "interest" and the scam grinds to a halt.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 16, 2017, 07:03:00 PM
the truth is Bitconnectcoin is here to stay

Please stop promoting this Ponzi scheme. The guaranteed returns are impossible; they cannot be real. How can you think such a scheme can be "here to stay"?

Please stop claiming everything is a Ponzi with zero backup?

I gave backup. Bitconnect is paying at least 0.25% profit per day, every day on any "loan" over $10k. That should be all the evidence you need. No legitimate investment guarantees to more than double your money in a year.

Your guesstimation doesn't count as evidence. The accuser is tasked with proving that something is what they claim. Speculation is just that... So get it right when you make your claims. Your misleading people with your guesstimations, and liable claims.  This makes you pretty much a kind of scammer. Doesn't matter what your intentions are, you could be hurting others by misleading them away from a opportunity that they may really need.

Nobody "really needs" to get involved with Ponzi scammers. Of course they could get lucky and get in and out again before the company vanishes with all the money. But it's unlikely. Once invested, people tend to re-invest (now that they've seen "proof" that it is "legit"), and so even the people who were early enough to avoid losing anything still end up losing due to their own greed.

Just think about it. If you had a magic bot that could guarantee to more than double your money year after year, would you really be giving those profits away to random strangers on the Internet? Or would you quietly borrow some startup money at a much lower rate of interest any get rich yourself? It just makes no sense.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 16, 2017, 06:57:53 PM
I have about 1800 now invested.  The skeptics have no idea how this works.  I've been a developer since 1999 and BCC does have a bot.

Do you have any evidence to back up your claim that the 0.25% profit per day comes from a bot?

Coding a bot is easy. It's simple "if/else" statements in the code. You can go online right now and find numerous bots for sale to be used for bitcoin.  The cheapest one I have found was under $100.  So for the haters to say there is no bot, its just insane.  But that is how haters are.

I am not saying that trading bots don't exist. Of course they do. I am saying that bots don't exist that can guarantee to make at least 0.25% profit on any amount every day.

Calling me a "hater" isn't an argument. Neither is claiming that because banks have trading bots then bitconnect must not be a Ponzi scam. Do you have any actual evidence that bitconnect's returns come from a trading bot, rather than coming from new "loans"?
848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 16, 2017, 07:18:26 AM
The bet amount is 15BTC. Now then, iota coin creator, can you walk the talk?

That seems unreasonable. While many can talk the talk, fewer can walk the walk, but nobody has yet proven themselves capable of walking the talk.

No such talk walking was part of the terms and conditions of the original bet.

Also, could you two please take this childish argument somewhere else? Everyone here is sick of you trashing this thread.

So I do not know what you exactly mean by memory-back device.

I mean something like this:

850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: July 16, 2017, 01:32:36 AM
I don't know what you should be investing in. I think CLAMs distribution was a good attempt at a fair distribution but unfairly rewarded those who spread their coins out over the most addresses which is pretty arbitrary.

Having coins spread out over the most addresses is (apart from the CLAM distribution) finanically de-incentivized since you pay for each of those inputs when you try to spend something in the way of more-inputs->larger-transaction->larger-fees.  I also realize that you could have lots of inputs at the same "address" but having a value spread across many addresses means you're definitely going to have separate inputs for each when/if you try to spend them.

That's exactly my point. The CLAM distribution rewards the people who didn't respond to the incentives inherent in Bitcoin. At the time of the snapshot I had tens of thousands of addresses but all but 27 of them were empty since I kept the funds consolidated into a few unspent outputs.

852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: July 15, 2017, 11:04:09 PM
This is the King effect. While the majority of data points fit onto the line, the top few are above it. This suggests that we are unlikely to have the top 10 days having a similar price, i.e. there will be a significant reduction after the top is reached. This has been particularly applicable to Bitcoin so far.
We need constant updating of such bitcoin prices to capture the market. Until I hold in my hand a little bicoin, I do not care much about the increase or decrease of bitcoin. Because of the high or low, I do not sell because I need to keep some money.

What are you talking about? "Because of the high or low, I do not sell because I need to keep some money". I don't get it.

The only people who put negative trust in Bitconnectcoin are those who has no stakes or invesment in Bitconnectcoin c'mon guys how can you argue with success everybody who invested in Bcc especially those who invested on day one up to the it's third month made huge profit.

The only people who claim murder is wrong are those who don't murder people.

What kind of logic is this you're using?

The only people who think this scam is a scam are the ones who are bright enough not to fall for the scam. Well duh!

All Ponzis are profitable until they stop paying out. That's how they work. The fact that so far people have made money from this scam doesn't mean it isn't a scam, or that thousands of people won't end up losing large amounts of money to it.

It seems to be half way there so I have another five days+ of straight syncing of the entire wallet's blockchain to go. Lips sealed

You will find it goes a lot faster if you put the config folder into a memory-backed device when doing large syncs. On Linux I use a tmpfs device. I don't know what the equivalent would be on other operating systems.

Since I wasted alot of electricity and also warring out my hard drive read and write times doing this syncing process. Embarrassed

I think most people are using the default "light wallet" option. There's no need to sync the DAG if you use the light wallet.

Do you think ICO's are the future and mining & staking are 'past it'? Should we start investing in ICO's rather than staking or mining?

I don't know what you should be investing in. I think CLAMs distribution was a good attempt at a fair distribution but unfairly rewarded those who spread their coins out over the most addresses which is pretty arbitrary.

the truth is Bitconnectcoin is here to stay

Please stop promoting this Ponzi scheme. The guaranteed returns are impossible; they cannot be real. How can you think such a scheme can be "here to stay"?

Is it ok that a proof of stake coin is distributing so much of it's coins? Can anyone elaborate as to why this is?

That's the way all coins used to do it. BTC, LTC, and DOGE distribute all their coins to miners, and CLAM distributes all theirs to BTC, LTC, and DOGE holders.

The ideas of staging a massive ICO or having a huge premine to make the developers rich are more recent innovations.
