841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Next financial Recession/Depression? Previous 2007-2008 on: August 10, 2017, 04:51:22 PM
Hi when the next financial economic global collapse comes then how will it affect the Bitcoin/Alts markets in general do you think?

Will people see Alts market like a hedge for example seeing it like gold/silver to hedge against meaning Alts will go up in price?

Or....

People cannot afford to buy Alts because everyone is broke meaning less buy orders that results in Alts markets crashing?

Or will people ignore Alts and buy into bitcoin because bitcoin name is more popular?

842  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit two week Grace Period, what volatile prices we expect to see during this? on: August 09, 2017, 11:05:02 PM
I can tell you that 90% of bitcoiners outside /r/Bitcoin and this forum know absolutely nothing about SegWit or how its going to help bitcoin in the future.
I strongly doubt that 90% of money currently trading BTC is unaware of SegWit.  I would say that percentage is closer to 0%.

Chances are that SegWit will not live up to expectations for a week or two because transaction fees may rise as a huge number of BTC users scramble to move their coins to new SegWit addresses.  There could be FUD during this phase and the phase before LN is implemented.

Before the November fork there will be a lot of fear about whether the fork will be high consensus enough.  That's another factor that could cause the price to drop.

The actual outcome of these things is quite positive though so it's hard to tell what will happen.  Personally, I think it's bearish short-term and bullish long-term (upwards of three years IMO).  The Bitcoin price is far too high so we're outside of any predictable territory.

So i need to find a new segwit compatible wallet before segwit activates?
843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much fee for a $2 Coffee transaction at the end of this Aug month? on: August 09, 2017, 10:54:27 PM
I thought segwit will reduce the fees, so what good is segwit then apart from lowering fees?

Ok so lightning network is the only chance that can bring low fees to bitcoin spending?

Low fees/Free transactions plus instant confirmations is the only way i can see to go up against visa/mastercard/paypal otherwise bitcoin only use is a hedge fund nothing more.
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How much fee for a $2 Coffee transaction at the end of this Aug month? on: August 09, 2017, 05:11:49 PM
I mean after segwit is activated of course.

Also how does this fee compares to bitcoin cash fee? Which will be cheaper to the consumer?

Also if bitcoins are worth $millions in the future and 1 satoshi equals $1 then how do you buy 50cents gum/candy? Or does bitcoin anticipate that in the future fiat inflation is norm meaning cents pricing will be gone in the future.
845  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit two week Grace Period, what volatile prices we expect to see during this? on: August 09, 2017, 04:52:56 PM
Bitcoin prices are volatile as we all know, it is not stable/constantly mooning. During this 2 week grace period what highs and lows do we guesstimate the prices will be and the associated dates/times.

Expect the price to coast around three thousand five hundred dollars for a while. Then wild swings between four thousand and five thousand usd in September.

Maybe reaching $5,000 in September can be a big wishlist...but then who would not want to see that coming, right? Volatility is always the hallmark of Bitcoin as it can go up and up and then suddenly there would be value corrections and then the same cycle would be happening again.

It is quite possible that Bitcoin may try to break the $3,500 barrier for good and then slowly but surely rising towards the $3,700 level where it might be staying there for many weeks as it is gathering inertia to jump into the $4,000 hurdle once and for all.

But then again, I am not a prophetic guy so this is just my humble opinion...whatever will happen is not my fault and don't follow my suggestions here especially if you are into trading.

Whats happening in september to make it go $5000? I thought segwit is being activated this month august soon for $4-5000 you think?
846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit two week Grace Period, what volatile prices we expect to see during this? on: August 09, 2017, 04:50:12 PM
I'm going to take my chances and say that nothing out of the ordinary is going to happen. You said your self, the price is not stable but that doesn't mean It's because of SegWit. I can tell you that 90% of bitcoiners outside /r/Bitcoin and this forum know absolutely nothing about SegWit or how its going to help bitcoin in the future.

If it is not segwit then what is?

848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin cash price bottom out before bitcoin bct segwit activation? on: August 07, 2017, 02:56:43 PM
Segwit2x is definitely happening in november?
Yes that is the official date in activation of Segwit in the Bitcoin core.
Also is segwit FUD like bitcoin cash?
Nope

I thought segwit is being activated this month  Huh
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin cash price bottom out before bitcoin bct segwit activation? on: August 06, 2017, 08:01:27 PM
The segwit2x activation is done and as you can see, there is no effect on bitcoin price and it is still rising up and that is the proof that nothing can stop bitcoin from dominating the market and also for getting more people into it as well as the demand that keeps the price stable or even pump it up to a higher level.

Segwit2x is definitely happening in november? Also is segwit FUD like bitcoin cash?
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin cash price bottom out before bitcoin bct segwit activation? on: August 06, 2017, 07:57:29 PM
I think segwit activation wont push the price to go down, i bealive the price will go higher and higher.

Sorry i meant whales buying bcc at bottom out price that might put btc price dow.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will bitcoin cash price bottom out before bitcoin bct segwit activation? on: August 05, 2017, 11:34:15 PM
Will bcc bottom out price comes 1st after all the dumping or btc segwit activation comes 1st?

I believe these 2 above factors will decide how the btc market price will play out as 2 of these factors are opposite, one will increase the btc price while the other will decrease the btc price i guess.

What do you think?

852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the current ATH price reflect Segwit? on: August 05, 2017, 11:27:40 PM
To summarise my understanding from the responses in this thread (please correct me if im wrong):

- people dumping bcc for btc which made bitcoin price into all time high
- FUD of Aug 1st hard fork is gone and confidence is back
- current high price does not reflect segwit being activated soon (within a week or 2)

If current price does not reflect segwit then that means we should see bitcoin price going to $4-5000 soon this month correct?
853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the current ATH price reflect Segwit? on: August 05, 2017, 11:22:26 PM
Or do you think it will go higher?

Or lower when whales buy bitcoin cash at bottom out prices?
Yes SegWit2x is currently being priced in by the market.

Current high price reflects Segwit2x? Hows that possible when we haven't reached near november yet and isnt Segwit2x classed as FUD which should result in lower prices?
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What price do you think bitcoin cash will bottom out at? on: August 05, 2017, 07:24:24 PM
i ttnihk it will be 50 dollar end of the year. it doesnt come with a new thing

It comes with 8MB block size; We still have to see where the support levels hold after everyone has finished dumping their coins. 50 - 100 dollar at the end of the year

Ok when do you think the dumpers are able to finish dumping bitcoin cash?
855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What price do you think bitcoin cash will bottom out at? on: August 05, 2017, 12:51:33 PM
It will reach 10 EUR at the end of the year.

10 EUR sounds a bit too cheap for a coin that has a max supply of 21 million coins. So decentralisation status is worth more and more important than deflation? So if I create a coin that has zillion trillion coin supply but my coin is decentralised then my coin is worth more and better than bitcoin cash?

So what you saying the dumping will take 5 months till the end of the year december? What i meant is when do you think exchanges are fully working with bitcoin cash for the actual dumping of bitcoin cash?
856  Economy / Speculation / Does the current ATH price reflect Segwit? on: August 05, 2017, 12:29:30 PM
Or do you think it will go higher?

Or lower when whales buy bitcoin cash at bottom out prices?
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What price do you think bitcoin cash will bottom out at? on: August 05, 2017, 12:26:02 PM
What price do you think the whales will buy bitcoin cash at? I know they will buy it at a bottom price but when do you think the price will bottom out at and what do you think price will be? It cant be 0 for sure. Even the shittiest scamcoins out there have at least 1 satoshi value.
858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Key important Segwit upcoming event dates? on: August 05, 2017, 10:44:15 AM
Anybody know?
859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Key important Segwit upcoming event dates? on: August 04, 2017, 11:36:04 PM
All the segwit stuff is happening this august and like to know which dates in august are the ones that we should keep an eye out.
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / What price do you think bitcoin cash will bottom out at? on: August 04, 2017, 12:40:54 PM
After all the dumping at exchanges. That is when bitcoin cash is working at most of the exchanges.
