According to this chart the past 2 halvings have been followed soon after by an insignificant dip.

I bet this halving will NOT be like past 2 halvings.

Our badger hates following past patterns (and seems to enjoy messing with people's predictions).

as we see here often, many Americans think the virus is imaginary and they can just shoot it if they see it.

Maybe in some other state...

New Yorkers think it's quite real.

If you have a false positive rate of between 10 - 15%, I’m not sure you can learn anything from a 12.3% positivity rate.

About 2% in most rural areas, take a look at the numbers:
https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/amid-ongoing-covid-19-pandemic-governor-cuomo-announces-results-completed-antibody-testing

Obviously that "false positive rate" number is way less than 10 - 15%. In reality it's maybe 1%...

Also keep in mind that grocery stores are not random samples.

Random enough. Everyone's grocery shopping.

People who think they have it, are much more likely to volunteer.   If 1 in 50 shoppers volunteer, you can do the math.

I assume it's close to everyone (50 in 50 shoppers) volunteer, because why wouldn't they? I would. It's a free test, why not.

Maybe, but alot of the antibody tests are reporting 10 - 15% false positive rates.

You combine a 10% false positive rate with a failure to do random sampling (the people who volunteer for antibody testing think they have caught C19 or else you pick people already in hospital....) and you can't really draw any meaningful conclusions about the infection rate in the general population.

New York State sampling of random 15,000 people in grocery stores seems representative enough.

12.3% positives in the whole State.
19.9% positives in NYC.

About 2% in rural areas.

I made the unlucky choice of moving to the strictest country in the world during this virus.

I also found out during this whole thing that I cannot criticize the government here by law.

Elwar's luck.  Roll Eyes

That is called speculating.

Yet people like marcus keep presenting "second wave of covid-19" as a sure thing, that's coming 100%. When it should be treated as a wild speculation.

When it's just a hypothesis with no scientific evidence to back it up.

Now, who is exaggerating?  People study these kinds of things, so yes there is science... but whether you believe the science is credible or adequately backed by facts and logic might be another question, but asserting that there is "NO" science is inaccurate.

People study other viruses, but for covid-19 specifically there is no science on the "second wave".
Not a single country is experiencing "second wave" right now, despite very different lockdown policies.
Enough time passed since the first peak.

but we haven't been let out.

That's why no second wave.

Counter-point: they let people out in South Korea. Yet there is no second wave.

American Buyers Are Fueling Bitcoin’s Rally, Data Suggests

I wouldn't be surprised. At least the computer industry in the US is still functioning, as I understand. So the workers get paid.

Marcus is not even close to roach, and he is merely presenting information that differs from your own opinion about the virus and it's impact.

Surely, there is some incorrect information out there, and there is also some difference of opinion regarding which information is more important - therefore conclusions reached will be different based upon which evidence is given greater weight.

Not sure if you noticed, but marcus keeps mentioning super-scary "second wave of covid-19" like it's a proven thing that's coming to kill more and more.

When it's just a hypothesis with no scientific evidence to back it up.

In fact, there is some evidence for "no second wave" hypothesis:

Two months after the first peak: still nothing. No second peak.

Only real problem for me will be finding a bank that doesn't mind large cash deposits.

I believe I will be having 1btc (or close) in a year or so with the current investment plan I got unless... it goes to 20k+  Grin

Or you can get 1btc now. And then follow with no-stress $50-a-week buys.
