Australia is awesome. Feral cats are killing native marsupials like koalas and wallabies, so locals eliminate the invasive species by eating them.
She makes further points which I don't get. Maybe humour?
Cats r good hunters

pls don't eat them
Is that's cats face Photoshopped? Looks a bit off.

Not just cat's face! The whole cat! And more!

Oh well.

Zoom out.

3d interval still looks OK.

It's the rhetoric.

I am quite certain that if you started erecting spars 15 miles out in the gulf of Mexico and posting on FB about your libertarianism and self sovereignty the reaction of the USCG would be swift and unequivocal.

Global enclosure is nearly complete.  I really think that, short of an orbital Lagrange platform, the aircraft carrier is the only way.

I think an old supertanker or massive container ship would be a better option..  and a lot easier to obtain...

Granted, there would be more upfront work involved to make it usable.. but with those huge wide open holds, you could basically build in whatever infrastructure you want..  Kinda like buying an old warehouse and turning it into high-end flats...

The point of such modular design is: if you realize you don't like this particular seasteading community, it's trivial to detach your pod and float away.

It was a rhetorical question. Florida police wouldn't care.

Example:

Maybe not the police, but certainly the IRS/Fed if you told them that you're a sovereign seastead and don't want them to steal your money.

"Steal your money" as in taxes? Elwar himself clearly stated that this project has NOTHING to do wth tax avoidance. He's quite aware that as a U.S. citizen he can't avoid U.S. taxes no matter where he lives.
1405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 24, 2019, 04:34:17 AM
First Amendment does not mean freedom from consequences.

If you say “I declare sovereignty” to your cat and continue to pay your taxes, then no, nothing will happen.

But I don’t think that was what seasteads were about.

And what exactly Elwar did? They just lived there.
You can live like that on a houseboat in the US and nothing will happen.
1406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 24, 2019, 03:55:01 AM
Not much of a difference in terms of law.

Elwar build nothing, he was just a tenant.

That's like finding a houseboat on Airbnb... nobody is going to arrest a tourist for renting one in the US.

Try declaring sovereignty in a trailer on the mainland and see what happens.

It is a very powerful idea. Which makes it dangerous.

Nothing will happen. Declaring anything is just words, and words are protected by the First Amendment.

Actions matter, like if someone would start breaking laws, and stops paying taxes, such actions will invite trouble.

Plenty of people live on "house boats" in the US.

Citizenship is not a requirement to live on one of those. Tourists can live where they want, as long as they aren't breaking any laws.

I am not saying the law makes sense but law is law.

What law? Imagine it happened in let's say Florida. Whould they be arrested? If so, for what?
1411  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 23, 2019, 02:45:47 PM
Despite previous info, maybe they are not out of danger just yet.

Good bye 5400.

We'll meet again.

Good luck moving that gold across a country/border via a flight. I know which asset I choose.

But where will you hide it?

Second attack on 5400?

Not going to succeed, I presume.
So would you say it is not an optimal time to 80x long?

I'm not a trader...

Yeah, I see folks talk about leverage, but I still have no idea what that is, nor how it works.

I really need to learn how to make animated gifs in PS.

It's all about Animated PNGs these days. GIFs are from the 80s, literally.

Anyway, you just need to force your PS to save a sequence of frames as individual (numbered) PNGs, and you're 95% there.

After that, it's super easy.

Folks, please ignore the obvious forum bots.

Don't quote them, don't try to start some meaningful conversations with them.

Thank you.

Give it up. That Mueller thing is dead.

I am surprised by a belligerent reaction to what is essentially building a floating house.
Not sure that I understand this.
Me either. What's the difference between that and an anchored sailboat?

Probably the question of rules and regulations, as usual.

2) Even the actual "high seas" (roughly 200+ nm from land) are not a magical realm of freedom where you can just plant a flag and be an independent polity. There are many rules and regulations that apply - including the need to plug into international law through the flagging system (for a vessel) or coastal state approval (for a fixed structure).

GREAT NEWS! I got contact from Chad Elwartowski (AKA Elwar) via PM earlier this morning notifying me that he and his girlfriend have been able to escape to nearby Vietnam via boat. They are in good spirits, but still are not out of the woods yet as they still need to leave the region for fear of local intergovernmental relations leading to his potential extradition back to Thailand. As a result for their own safety they will not be posting again until they are home, but he wanted me to thank all of you on his behalf for your kind words and well wishes, and said he hopes to be back on the forum posting soon. He didn't give me much other information for obvious reasons, but at least we know he has made it out of the country, which is very good news. Hopefully we can help bring awareness to this issue so others do not find themselves in a similar situation in the future. Godspeed Elwar.

Awesome!
