Diversify, while Bitcoin is a fantastic idea that I'm optimistic about there are things that can go wrong and you also have to take into account incredibly basic things security wise like hacking, nothing much happens now but I guarantee you if you keep a large amount of Bitcoins on your PC with an internet connection someone will eventually sniff it out in the future and you'll be one of those people rage posting on this forum about how you lost all your Bitcoins because you didn't keep them offline.
From the conversation everyone seems to be having I would definitely pick Bitcoin over bullshit like government treasuries or paper money.

While I can respect Kim for standing up to the U.S government I don't understand how he has managed to over hype bandwith limited cloud storage, that said at least he's being more honest than my internet provider.

This projected really needs to be revived, we can't have stock exchanges going down left and right because of a few stupid scammers.
Well, it wasn't really a stock exchange, but I like the idea of reviving it anyways! In that case we need a proper stock exchange BLAH!

There is no certainty in my experience that's reality, too many people live in their own protective bubble so when something like Bitcoin comes along where they need to take responsibility for themselves they don't handle it very well.

Well yeah, even then, usually it's a good indication of whether someone is good to do business with the majority of the time.

Must dress up as a space marine and use a jet pack to do something like this.

lol oh dear, you can't really judge peoples reputation based on that, especially when you count the amount of times people bicker with each other on here, basically, sell stuff and if you get people saying good things about you then you'll have a good reputation, that should mean you'll be trusted, I put little stock in status' though because it's a bit like score systems and things like that. You can't really rate personal experiences with numbers that easily because every one will normally be quite different.

I don't think that's a bad idea, I can't remember where this was but I think someone had a similar idea etc. or something where if the thread was extremely old they'd put a skull next to it after a thread hadn't been posted for a certain amount of time, so I think that would be a good way of letting you know how old it is. You know, aside from just checking the date the person posted last >_>

Wasn't there a movie done by Julian Assange or something that did something like this? It went into all the details about the Iraq war and how we're essentially being told to remember the fallen soldiers and never how many civilians are killed etc. or that the enemy suffered a lot more.

I propose the creation of a space marine chapter to colonise planets. I get dibs on the Blood Angels

This is one of the risks involved with Bitcoins and what it will be like from now on if you use Bitcoins regularly, you won't ever know 100% whether you can trust the person on the other end or that they are even who they say they are. What I would recommend if you're unsure about a company but they look professional invest a small amount of Bitcoins and see how it goes. The usual rules of investing apply, never invest more than you can afford to lose and always do checks on the company.
If you still feel you can't trust them then don't put any money in, all that will happen is you haven't made anything, but you also haven't lost anything either.

Yeah but they're business won't last on that model, unless the people pre-ordering from them are infinitely stupid.

ROFL! This deserves to be quoted again but yep, that's about right.

Jon Stewart's been on the case with this one, it's sad but it looks like a lot of America's gun problems are caused by sheer incompetence, nothing to do with the laws themselves at all, the politicians made the laws years ago they just didn't enforce them properly for the most part and also not correctly done laws, this explains why Switzerland etc. do perfectly okay with having guns in civilian hands.

You get them on every single forum unfortunately, it's a universal problem that no one has found a real solution for yet.

It means more purchasing power if you hold Bitcoins.

Ben Bernanke has absolutely no control over the US markets never mind the rest of the world, the only thing he can do is print money and buy up debt, he's the one causing the hyper-inflation but of course he'll never admit it.

As far as I'm aware even though Ron Paul believes in the idea of using gold or silver as currency he also wanted to allow competing currencies into the market not just the U.S Dollar, so yeah >_> in regards to the 'what if we run out of electricity thing after doing my own research into the subject, we have a good number of ways to generate electricity in all sorts of places, but we're absolutely shit at storing it all so much of it goes to waste and we don't get to use it when we really need it.

Define 'immoral behaviour' because I think the only thing I've seen human beings not argue about is that we don't like being killed or hurt and we don't like having our stuff stolen, so that's basically all I define as immoral behaviour.

I think that money could be better used to find out who the federal reserve board members are, all Satoshi did was create a digital currency, this person is hardly the terrifying threat people scream about I don't think, then again, who knows? But it's not like I've seen anything hugely evil come out of Bitcoin, unless of course he's a hacking master and somehow planted a super secret virus that's going to take over everyones computers.
