861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [2018-02-12]Bitmain To Release Ethereum ASIC Miner F3 With 72Gb DDR3 Dram In Q2 on: February 14, 2018, 12:41:25 AM
I strongly believe that Ethereum devs will find the way to brick those invalid ASIC monsters. By fork or something else. They declare it few times in the past. Also, it is easy to change the software miner (algo) on computer, but to change the algorithm on ASIC, not so easy.
Look the owners of D3 miner, X11 is still the only algo on it. Few groups try to implement X13, X15... but no results yet.

they are partnered with eth devs, they have insider casper knoledge.

Do you have any reference or proofs? unless you say it as "IMHO" or rather " I Guess", a purely hearsay with no basis.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero mining ccminer windows 10 32bit on: February 13, 2018, 09:27:57 PM
Hello all, I am very new to all this I'm having a problem running ccminer on windows 10 32 bit, its closing as soon as I click the bat file, I'm running a GeForce 750 ti 2gb low profile on a old dell, I have tried just about everything I can find on the net to fix this, reinstalled the NVidia drivers ( clean install ) c++ 2012 and 2013 and tried every version of ccminer I can find.
I have 2 other pc's with gtx 750 ti 2 gb & gtx 750 1 gb  both working fine on 64 bit windows, I know the card works as it works on minergate no problem any ideas ?

Well I Guess, you have to use it in a 64bit OS version environment.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which miner program is best for each coin? on: February 13, 2018, 02:21:44 PM
Hello^^ I'm managing a pack of 6-way rigs and finding the best miner for following coins :

Bitcoin Gold
Zcash
Ethereum
Zcoin
Zclassic

Which miner program is best for each coin do you guys using for that?

above coins has 2 type of algos,

Equihash - Zcash, Bitcoin Gold, Zcoin, Zclassic

Ethash - Ethereum

I use these:

for Equihash - EWBF and DSTM

For Ethereum - Claymore

Specs.
3: 970s
1: 1080
1000 watt psu

So 970s get around 250-270 sols.
I notice one of my cards isn't nearly up to par, running about 170.
I put that card in my gaming pc to make sure it wasn't going bad.

Sure enough, runs great at 270 sols.
Okay. My psu need to be bigger right?

fyi, the other 2 970s and the 1080 perform what they should.
I also run awesomeminer, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

970s 3x165 watt
1080 1x180 watt
+ system
total 750-800watt

If it's gold or platinum PSU it's enough. Try to play with settings with afterburner.

You may also consider to check or replace your USB Risers, it has been seen to some users that it is somewhat linked to low hashrates.

865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU recomendation on: February 12, 2018, 02:40:33 PM
Its expensive and because i dont have 6 cards now i will just buy one that will support the first 3 and then upgrade from there.
Should i look for min 3 x pcie 8 pins connectors?

If this is the case then I guess your chosen PSU should be fine, you can again buy the same PSU specs like the 1st one for another 3 GPU upgrade later on and buy add2psu cables. or simply use the Jumper style Wink
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU recomendation on: February 12, 2018, 10:08:39 AM

6 x 8 pin PCI Express power with detachable 2 pin section

If your risers has 6 pin connector, then this is barely enough to power up your 3GPU and risers, I've seen the actual pictures and it is indeed splits, 3 cables with 2x 8pin(6+2).

Hi thanxs for the answer.
Where should i connect the 3rd cable on the psu?  Isnt the 6 pin pci-e on the psu underpowered for the gpu?

no its not, see this site for reference on Cable power capacity that they could handle.

868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU recomendation on: February 12, 2018, 09:10:22 AM
Hi there,

I am trying to built the 'base' of my rig and i run into some questions that i cant find an answer.

I am planning to built a total of 6 x 1070s mining rig. I will try to start with 3 and then add more if i find a good price for the cards.

I am trying to select a psu that will hande 3 gpus and i am bit confused about how to select it.

I have come across to a reasonable priced seasonic psu:
https://www.computeruniverse.net/en/products/90703312/seasonic-prime-focus-modular-80-plus-gold.asp

Does that psu hase enough pcie slots to power 3 gpus? My understanding is that this psu has 2x PCIe 8pin and 6x PCIe 6pin  so i can connect up to 2 1070s gpus (i think they require 8 pins). Is that correct? Cant i connect a 3rd gpu somehow?

Read the review, it says it has 3 power cable to PCI-E 6+2. so yes, it should power the 3GPU.

Quote
Moreover the risers will be connected to the 6 pins so it has enough slots?

Yes, also if it has 6 pin splitters connected to your GPU can power up the riser, so you save an extra cables.

Quote
Finally is my base rig ok for future upgrades (6 cards) or compatibilty with future nvidia or amd cards?

GIGABYTE H110-D3A Bitcoin Edition
Intel Celeron G3930 boxed
Crucial 4GB DDR4 CT4G4DFS824A 2400 MHz
ADATA SU700 SSD 120GB
PSeasonic PRIME FOCUS Modular (80+Gold) 850 Watt

Thank you

You need to underclock your 6 1070 later on for 850w, If you plan to have AMD's I guess its safer to have at least 1kw of PSU rating.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nicehash legacy or connect your own miner to nicehash on: February 12, 2018, 04:38:42 AM

hi anyone who did this? i can see that ewbf is faster than excavator

I have this setup previously using ewbf on my 1080ti's, however already pointed pool now to flypool, will try dstm as phillips do better with it  Wink
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with 2 RX 480 4gb in 1 home PC case. anyone doing it? on: February 11, 2018, 11:05:37 PM
cost effective is an open air rig, put beside window and an exhaust fan with it, 2 gpu's temp isn't that hard to manage actually.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: building big mining rigs on: February 11, 2018, 07:49:56 AM
There is an obvious advantage and disadvantage on each setup, you can decide this once you have already your budgets, you can go for mining motherboards if you are comfortable and use to it, as some users encountered challenges getting to work all PCIe slots and GPU's, another things is the centralized failure compared to boards with 6 GPUs. also the resale value, Z series boards are hot on gamers also.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 10, 2018, 02:18:09 PM
I have ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ motherboard and 4 GPUs RX 570, claymore is not working for me, every time I run it, it crashes the computer. Is there any specific settings for low specs PC? Or any other solution... please help me out.

Thanks.

your build is not that low, probably you have a problem on Clocks, how do you do clocking? try to set this in default value, if still persist, try to install the single GPU using PCIe x16 slot then fire up miner, then add GPU one at a time, from there you can get ideas what are the culprits
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 10, 2018, 02:14:37 PM
anyone please mind testing config.txt? it seems mine is not reading it at all.

Check your .bat file, if you want to use config.txt there should be no other commandlines on your .bat file except your config file name, Read the first post from OP.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building a rig if power consumption is not an issue. on: February 10, 2018, 09:41:00 AM
It is not a good idea to mine with 1050 because you can only fit so many on one motherboard and then you have to buy all the components again. So it is not worth it if your are going to have multiple rigs.

What a terrible advice  Undecided Dude, if its profitable its not a bad idea, and besides if you go with multiple rigs you have to invest and buy another set of rigs.

you're not a fan of 1050 aren't you
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Warning Nicehash Terms of Service!! on: February 10, 2018, 02:02:54 AM
i dont understand the math presented here.

you claimed to have .166BTC at the time of the hack
10% of that is 0.0166BTC
minimum payout is .005BTC

so how exactly did you not meet that?
are you saying that NH is only reimbursing a TOTAL of 10% of what you lost? and then paying 10% of that 10% as the payments?

If the OP has 0.166BTC, He obviously meet 0.005 min payout, however, Reading on the first part if he has only 0.0166 10% would be 0.00166 then he cant withdraw it unless he mine again and reach at least 0.005.

Quote
I was under the impression they were planning to pay everyone it all back, starting with 10% of whatever they had.

Yeah, thats everyone's hoping for, but if they are truly serious about paying it all, they should at least tell us when is the next payout, the danger is already here as upon reimbursement there is an agreement that NH is already out of trouble on last the hacking event.
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 580 4Gb vs 8Gb on: February 09, 2018, 01:29:19 PM
..DAG size will continue to increase which means 4GB cards will not be able to mine ethereum after a certain period..

Is that really true? I mean the ETH DAG is bigger than 2GB now but I never felt that! Here are 2 case studies:

1. Seven months back I was new to mining ETH so I started with MinerGate as it was the easiest to start with. At the first day of my mining I noticed that after a full night (around 7 hours) of mining I spent only around 50 MB of data! Yeah, the mining started and I earned some ETH too! So clearly I mined without even downloading the full DAG. (Maybe a DAG Epoch?)
Interestingly enough, I even mined eth with MG on my laptop that has maybe 256 MB of graphics card or less when the DAG was around 2GB!! How was that possible?

2. Same thing happened when a month later I first started to mine with Claymore on Nanopool. Just few MB used per day. Till date I use Claymore on NP 24/7 and never seen the miner to download the full DAG.

So do we really need a card with memory size bigger than that of the DAG?
I guess that might be true with solo mining which I didn't waste my time trying. Enlighten me... Smiley

The DAG size wont exceed 4GB til mid to late 2020 or early 2021. By the time that comes around there will be more efficient/better cards to mine Ethereum so personally my opinion is if you are buying the cards just to mine ETH buy the cheapest 4GB 580's you can find.

Usually higher memory gives better hashrate. However, what I was trying to say is it is possible to mine ether with cards that has 1 GB or even less memory size regardless of how big is the DAG.

Explained above already, you cant mine ETH with 2GB VRAM or less.

877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Mining pool for Ethereum on: February 09, 2018, 01:14:12 PM
I was wondering what the best miningpool for Ethereum is? I have only used Etheremine, but I have the impression that my actual hashrate is quite lower that what my miner says. As well the stale shares have risen.

I know that only the return is important, but as I have only used 1 pool till now, I have no basis to compare. I have the following return for 120Mh/s (claymore miner): 0,010362521 ETH/dag - which is extrapolated to year 3,782320273 ETH

You are using now the best pool for me, ethermine has been a reputable pool for ETH mining and didn't encounter prob especially in payouts, you can try dwarfpool, nanopool, suprnova, miningpoolhub, sexypool then compare. if you want to be paid in BTC directly then use nicehash or miningpoolhub.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Altcoin like ETN on: February 09, 2018, 01:08:22 PM
I just figured that out now ! Well maybe I will just go ahead and earn some funds first for GPU set up for mining ETH instead of other so it will be profitable . I already have a solar panel which can reduce my electric bill and that would be one of the reason why i like to mine .
Sounds good, would using a solar panel for your electricity but, surely the cost is very large for equipment and installation when compared with ordinary electricity. Yes, the problem for new miner is when to buy a GPU and price GPUs increased 100% and empty stock.

if the price of BTC will remain like this or be lower for a few months, I bet GPU prices will go down a bit, some peeps are doing their math now.

Aside from more investment thru solar, consider your sunny time working on panels, the longer the sunlights the better.
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Max RX 480 strix hashrate for ethereum on: February 09, 2018, 11:34:53 AM
My max hashrate for rx 480 strix mining ethereum is 29.3 mhs. That’s with the one click bois edit and a little under clocking/ under volting on core. My mem is at stock 2000. If I up mem it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Also have Samsung mem
Anyone else have a 480 strix and hashing over 29?

Other users able to hash over 30mh/s particularly in samsung mem, see this threads

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1769627.40

I saw that thread before and read every comment. But no one with a strix says anything higher than 29 unless I missed something, so I’m wondering if it’s just the strix that can’t get over the 29 hump

Yeah, you probably missed this one from Wolf0

Does anyone got results higher than 28mh/s for rx 480 strix ?

I got 30.7 with 8gb samsung rx480 with bios edit and higher mem freq

It'll do well over 31 - I've got one of those with Samsung.

however I am not sure on timings he does.

What specifically do you not like about their TOS?

Let me guess, maybe this one?

Quote
NICEHASH WALLET RISK

They are already using third party wallets huh!

Nicehash isn't a bank... your account and holdings on the service are not insured.  This is common sense spelled out in TOS.

What is catchy is that in the event of another incident of Security Breach (Hopefully they don't hack themselves), NH now has no responsibility on it, its now a risk everyone's should  be aware of.

Plain and simple. You have been warned. Lol,
