Feedback from a new signup:

1. Registration  easy – nice. Character age was the only confusing part. It’d be nice to have a mouseover or something to explain that this is not necessarily the user’s age + pros and cons of choosing lower or higher age values as a game age, so that the player doesn’t regret it later on if it is something crucial.

2. First login problematic due to the browser using email instead of character name. Proposal: Make both email and character name valid logins – or explain that nickname is required

3. First screen: https://cryptokingdom.me/billboard

That’s like a bad quality spampage – definitely not game material that people want to see. Too confusing for a new player, too all over the place, too spammy, way not too cool in terms of appearance. The first screen is enough for many players to just not give the game a second chance.

4. My first move is to click on the higher right pic of a guy… it seemed to be something like an online-assistance type of avatar, and I was not really sure what it was. I clicked and realized it’s “my profile”. A more generic picture needs to be used for that.

5. Uploading new image is an easy process. On the left hand of the screen two buttons, right and left of the photo, don’t seem to do anything.

6. I’m next onto the dashboard trying to see how to find a “main” game menu. I’m seeing 2 items. I can’t click to see what they are.

7. As I’m trying to find what to do next, I click the 3 line button right of the Crypto Kingdom label (upper left). This button needs more highlighting as it’s not so intuitive that it’s a central button in terms of functionality. At least to me.

8. I try the map. The index on the left is not very well designed. I am at https://cryptokingdom.me/land/chapelry/1:C  then click north-north, I get a ...white screen. Total white. (huh?)

9. I click to go back to Main Town. I’m trying to figure out how to navigate around. I click on a button on the upper right “explore...” and it says Find lot with ID: 4-W-W14 in Town map and take your reward. Yeah, well, how do I do that? I can't seem to find any move buttons.

10. I return to the map. On the left side it says: “Explore different lots informations”. Syntax is somewhat messed up and I kind of understand the meaning, but ...not clickable. Still no idea how to move around.

I'll give it a rest for now and revisit it later perhaps.

Thank you for the valuable feedback. The game is in development, and "the demands and rewards are still in the early adopter mode". For this report, I am willing to give you an Emerald but I'd have to ask you to send me an ingame message (recipient: "1") to tell your char_id to whom I would transfer this valuable gem. (The prices of gems - item_type:GEM - range from 4 mil to invaluable).

The game is a community effort. What we much need in this stage as we have soon developed the planned functionalities, is UI feedback. The problem with the existing playerbase is that they have already learnt the cli and the UI, and are not as good to give feedback anymore Wink

As for some of the points you raised,

1. We will be adding the help on the char_age next to the dropdown menu. The whole register screen also has place for some info, and I'd like you to tell what iyo is the most needed. The TOS should be there at least.

2. The nickname is needed in the login. Email is anyway optional, and also one email can be used in multiple characters.

3. We just developed this fine screen! The first 8 months there was no landing page at all!  Cheesy It may be daunting for new players because it is designed to give all the info needed for the active players, and it is updated actively. I am open to suggestions how to make it more aesthetic, though.

7. This button will feature the words "Main Menu" soon. In the longer term, after the town map looks cool (it certainly does not atm), the main menu items will be dispersed to the town buildings to make the game feel more like a game and not a database access tool.

8. Each screenful you see on the map is called "chapelry". We have 225 in the game, and are currently developing a "lot layout editor", giving the owners the possibility to draw the buildings etc. to their lots (about 1000 existing), which the system will merge to be the chapelry wallpapers. When this process is complete (it is a lot of manhours), the whole town will look realistic and pleasing to the eye. The buildings will have functionalities, so that an adventurous player will have much to explore and gain EXP to get his levels up and the game progresses. Because the game time is tied to real time, it is a challenge to make the starting phase for eager players fast enough. This game cannot be "completed" in a long weekend, it is a long term hobby, which we both must communicate, and also make fast-tracks available for those who want quick progress. Buying a Baronet item (BT-x) causes instant promotion to L12.

9. The Explore requires you to find the lot in question, and to find it, you need to navigate around the town using the navigation arrows in the Map view. The lot_id given is composed of Borough_id, Chapelry_id and (local) Lot_id. The example 4-W-W14 means that the chapelry is 4-W, and the borough 4 is directly to the north of Borough 1 (with some white in between as you noticed). W14 is one of the lots in the chapelry, and upon finding it, there will be gold and other items waiting for you as a reward of getting to know the map.

10. Overall, the database side of the game is progressing nicely and we have a very powerful cli for accessing the 24/7 market, doing the character health challenge, operating the ingame companies, and executing admin actions. What we lack, is the easy access for newcomers and the interlinking of several things we have in the game, and all the wikis and tutorials and guides. Developing these has not been a priority just yet for the reasons that we do not have the skills in our current team. We are doing our best, and the result is what you can readily observe - impossible to get hold to, without staunch determination and ready access to our IRC help channel freenode: ##crypto-kingdom.  Tongue We need a dedicated workgroup consisting of players that are not part of the existing community, to have a chance of developing an actual, functional, entry to the game. This will take place after the summer holiday though, as there are still other things to do first. The administration is still too manual to allow the playercount to grow too much yet, so "anyone can come in, but right now it is so demanding that only few make it". In the longer term, we seek to have at minimum 10,000s of players to the game. The valuation is now very promising to those who believe we can conquer the challenges. The funding is on a solid footing.

I am a little bit concentrating my businesses and one possibility is indeed to give the manor shares to DeptStore, who will soon merge with King's Farms, and will take the competition with NewFarms (whose success in these days can be participated in - S-NC is in the market).

Well, that kinda sucks because most, if not all, of the manor lords have been sustaining losses with the hopes of something good to come out of it in the future.

I am in no way forcing it, but there was already a case with a player needing to concentrate on other things, and both his Estate and County need to be reorganised. This is an option. Not the best option of course, holding on is much better in the game-success scenario.

As the prices of the various production from Pada manor have been in continuous decline, I find myself in the unenviable position to be expending both time and money to manage the manor's sales. As a result, unless the terms are revised to allow at least break even, I would sadly be unable to continue in the job at a loss now that the rent is up.

The overall situation with the production shares is rather neglected right now, as the Clans health challenge is coming soon. This is the final NPCC round, and the whole County/Countryside module needs constitution, which would allow transferring the hosting of it to Rak, and enable the moving on to other things.

Meanwhile, please enjoy the appreciating share price of NewCorp and the increasing number of departments in DeptStore. DeptStore recently sold out its large colored gems, and now only EMEX and TOPX are listed in that category. The prizes in the Coronation will be excellent. Btw it is still possible to spend SCI for practicing your aim in the target shooting! We want more participants!

A preliminary result of the NPCC #3 competition

The New, last challenge for the NPCC - NPCC #4 is starting in 1-2 days

Rules to be added the soonest!

NPCC 4 is the last incarnation of NPCC competitive challenge. Based on the experiences with NPCC, the game core mechanism of Upkeep: health, culture and wisdom, will be revised to Clan Upkeep Module.

The new core mechanism (C.U.M) is not specified yet, but it will change the following principles in upkeep:
- All characters owned by one player may be grouped in the same clan, which has 1 account and 1 char_id for changelog.
- Having new characters becomes a restricted bonus which is administered by the system.
- Deaths will be calculated automatically, with this causing a mourning period in the clan account, but no larger changes.
- NPC hired by the player, must be fed and clad in NPCC style, but via the system commands, not separate accounting needed.
- The amounts of food etc, consumed, are the aggregate player decision, also their production happens in free markets since anyone can found farms intown, make better roads for starting farming outside of town, improve conditions in counties to produce more meat, start breweries, etc.
- Consuming will be made fun, with visible culture and wisdom bonuses showing positive progress.
- NPC salaries will be cut because they are fed by the employer.
- New NPC will be raffled annually to those already owning a certain kind of NPC and geeking them in good food. Labor would not sell NPC habitually (special cases possible), but players would sell them in the aftermarket since the random bonuses are often not exactly what the player wanted. This will make the NPC market a whole lot more action.
- The formulas will be balanced so that the consumption of wines, becomes important for happiness, and spirits for health, UND for wisdom, and without food, the NPC will quit your service, selling themselves to the highest bid in the market and keeping the money themselves (Town).
- WIS will start producing SCI.


Known rules so far for NPCC #4

Only changes will probably be made to Drinks, and those will be all the more sweeping. Since the Health, Culture and Wisdom values of drinks have been revealed, it is possible to grade the wines and spirits according to their true value. We want to preserve the simplicity of one act of consume = one point, and to keep this, the table showing the number of bottles will become quite an interesting one. During the period, this will cause the prices of wines to be reset to their combined usefulnesses, because the NPCC effect on the demand is so large (90%+ of eating characters are NPC).

NewCorp (S-NC) Listed and Tradable!


The Members of NewCorp (King, Mayor, Soul and Thud) have decided to take the company public. NewCorp is founded long ago, initially to handle (the late) King's land development projects, and later Members were also accepted to join in.

NewCorp owns about 20% of the opened land in town, and has 40% of the BuildCo capacity and 50% of the in-town farming. Its assets were conservatively valued at 32,000 mil, which is set as the valuation of the company. The "old share" was valued at 80 mil, down from the peak Members-only valuation of 130 mil.

Now the IPO is organised so that the shares are scaled to 1 mil each, and 8,000 new shares are created to the company for marketmaking purposes, to be sold at an increasing ladder similar to the market making of HM02B100 and CON.

NewCorp has a fixed dividend (similar to CON). The dividend return is set at 10,000 m/share (1% at the initial market valuation). The general meeting of shareholders may change this, it is planned to be a permanent feature though.

NewCorp seeks to buy land at the source (full chapelries from Town) and farm, quarry and zone them. Buildings may be operated for additional income, and it is sought that realistic lowball bids for land would be offered town-wide, to catch quitting and mismanaged characters. A massive portfolio of properties will be developed and put into the market to enable players to change address effortlessly. NewCorp seeks to buy low and sell low, no gouging prices.

The marketmaking is so dense that an investment of 11,100 mil will take the price to 1.88 mil only (+88%). We seek that the price would be perceived low and would rise. The Members have not expressed interest in selling their shares, but are free to do so if they so wish. The funds that accrue to NewCorp as a result of the rise of the stock price, will be used in expansion of the operations, and only if this cannot immediately be achieved (workforce is a limited resource), the excess will be invested in gold and securities.

NewCorp's Headquarters is in Champs-Élysées 3, 5-W.

Share is traded as S-NC.

Largest owner and CEO is currently the King, and as well as many of the companies led by the King, this also is pending a better and more dedicated manager.

Changes to ART items

Art is a major achievement of a civilization. We currently have 39 Items of Art, of which most are movable paintings. Some are other art forms, and some are immovable as they have been painted on a surface.

Art can be created from IC and there have been 4 price points: K7 (100 IC), K8 (200 IC), K9 (500 IC) and K10 (1000 IC). Art never qualifies to any discounts.

Upon Coronation, a new era is opening, so the Art will reflect this as follows:

- K7 will be discontinued in 1640, and the new level K11 (2000 IC) will be opened immediately
- Before the actual event of coronation, the Art may be dated for any year 1600-1639, with normal backdating rules
- After the coronation, it may only be backdated to the official coronation year 1640 the earliest
- Backdating cost will remain 3% per year, simple calculation.

DeptStore has made bids on most pieces of Art existing. Not that they would reflect the true value but they are there as a conversation piece and seed for the Art market.

Contact Syksy (138) for your wishes especially now if you still want K7 and/or backdating to the earlier years of Reconstruction.

How many players do you have so far? I'm interested but it looks very complicated.

Number of characters is 410, and our IRC is about 40 simultaneous people. I'd say about 100 active or semi-active players.

It looks complicated due to the lack of good guides, nor linking to them. These matters will be addressed when our development milestone, Clans, is ready (this autumn). Then we will also have an incentive plan for marketing.

Currently it is still the early adopter phase, and the demands and rewards are accordingly.

A host of persecuted protestants (#410, Little Flock) have learned about our rightful and tolerant rule from their brothers in Ironlock. Instead of arriving and staying there, a potential conflict region, they have journeyed all the way to CryptoTown and brought their money with them. They have invested in CKG, CON and built a Meeting Hall (name in system is wrong) in 3-S.

Town Fundraiser completed

The Town ran into overdraft during the final illness of the late King, who was unable to produce the annual income operations (and everyone in the council as well). Now as a result of the foreign contacts of the current King, Town has sold approx 650*CON to predominantly newcomers, raising approx 13,000 mil in the process and securing the finances for a long time to come.

Gold price rise

A new FOC has bought 95*HM02B100, raising the gold price from 400k to 580k in the process. The time is ripe for both dump if you don't believe it will last, or go double if this is just the beginning.

BLD price hits 12.9k

When Building was enabled in 1636 (3 years ago), there was 1,250,000 BLD in existence. Now the number is 257,000. The price has risen and it is profitable to produce it, but the production requires:
- WOR (readily available)
- MGR (available in the aftermarket)
- ASS (much needed and very little for sale).

Nothing else is needed (such as Factory).

The main way to increase the production of BLD is to buy up the small annual quota of the bottleneck items coming from Labor (20*ASS-1 and 20*MGR-1) or convert them from IC (80*IC each).

Longer term, the annual need of new building will depend on the new interest, but even the depreciation of old buildings and the need to repair them is more than the current total BLD production, and this will become actual soon as the Building module is enhanced with the repair depreciation and the repairing is enabled.

Businesses usually yield better to those with experience. Now everyone is on the same terms, as the bottleneck items cost the same for experienced and new players alike. Consider starting a BuildCo and produce your own BLD!

Coronation postponed in real-time, but will still be officially in 1640

There are many things planned for the Coronation, not only the gems&jewelry&coronet thing, or the pistol shooting contest. Implementing them has been somewhat delayed by other important things such as the ones listed above. Good thing is that you will get to keep your haw if you build before the "actual" Coronation!

Some may have heard about an investment round that is bringing in new deposits. The first such investments from this round will be recorded in 1640. When this has happened, and possibly changed the prices of the major investment products (CKG, CON), it is time for:

Stock Market Wizard Investment Contest
(rules subject to changes upon feedback)

The aim of the contest is to prove that ingame semi-passive investing can generate profits, and how big they can be. Other objectives are fun, and activation of the ingame stock market liquidity.

The investment account size is 200 mil, so that anyone can participate. The participant funds the investment account (ingame corp) with 200 mil himself in the beginning.

The contest will end at the end of 1660 (20 years max). At the close of the year, the account is evaluated at bid prices of the assets.

Participation fee is 10 mil. It is possible to participate with at max 3 accounts at a time. An account can be abandoned by sweeping its contents to the owner. New accounts can be created until end of 1650, no later.

Only products eligible to be bought are securities. Therefore, no items with level >0 will be eligible. The list of eligible securities does not include all K0 items though, the companies will need to have a CEO and mission statement, with a report of "things that must be considered before investing". This is to prevent insider info being the deciding determinant of success. Also the security must be widely owned (can be checked by OWNS item_id).

The competition is long-term because it is not intended to be foremost a daytrading contest, but rather a semi-passive pick-the-winner contest. Buying and selling of shares is restricted by the following rules:
- All trades must be done on the marketplace;
- Even via the market, a person must not buy from or sell into an order that he has placed (no matter via which character or a proxy) until 24 hours have passed from the placing of the order;
- One person (through all his investment accounts) must not control more than 10% of the marketcap of a security;
- Transfers to the account and from it, in the middle of the competition, are forbidden (excluding the lawful sweep, terminating the account).

The results are according to the value of the account in the end, in M. Assets are at their bid prices. Blatant price manipulation in the last year will be detected (price jumping/crashing from the last few years' average with no reason), and the price adjusted according to GM decision. Disqualification happens if violation was purposeful.

The prizes come from the participation fee, to which the King adds a 200 mil bounty.

- 35% of the total is divided equally among the best half of the participants.
- 25% of the total is divided to the best 25% of the participants
- 10% of the total is divided to the best 10% of the participants
- 15% goes to the winner
- 8% goes to the 2nd place
- 4% goes to the 3rd place
- 2% goes to the 4th place
- 1% goes to the 5th place

The "% of participants" is always rounded up and money to the nearest m. All is cumulative.

For instance, if 6 accounts sign up, the prize pot is 260 mil (200 + 6*10).

1st gets 35%/3 + 25%/2 + 10% + 15% = 140.8 mil
2nd gets 35%/3 + 25%/2 + 8% = 83.6 mil
3rd gets 35%/3 + 4% = 40.7 mil
4th gets 2% = 5.2 mil
5th gets 1% = 2.6 mil
6th gets 0%

When the number of players is larger, the numbers get more even.


The prizes can also be given according to a continuous formula, achieving the same distribution but without gaps and undue difficulty in calculation:

#shares = 1 / (1 + place) - 1 / (2 * number_of_finishing_participants)

Prize = #shares / shares_total * prize_pot

With 50 participants, all finishing, this will give 113 to winner and at least money back to 34% of participants
With 25 participants, all finishing, this will give 91 to winner and at least money back to 48% of participants
With 10 participants, all finishing, this will give 87 to winner and at least money back to 90% of participants

Agree with their eminencies. CLXII was from the start intended to be the signature drink of CK, perhaps for all times to come. It is hinted to be up to 150 years old (only RME has any chance to be close) and "the best that could be found in the Court of the King of France", itself a serious statement.

It is good even now, and when we move on to Clans Health Challenge (under specification already), its value and status will both continue to go up.

Evaluating consumables, short course

CLXII (Spirit) - Health: 34 , Culture: 6 , Wisdom: 5

This has a consume value that can be derived as follows:
- Number consumed: 1 => all effects at 400%
- Primary reason to consume: CUL (brings in 24*CUL). The value of CUL is linear, the book value is 70k and King's secret conservative valuation is 50k per point. The latter is used. Value of CUL: 24*0.05 = 1.20 mil.
- Bonus: 20*WIS. It is possible to substitute CAN consumption with MUS, which brings in 9*WIS more at the cost of 90k. Therefore the 20*WIS are worth 20*10k = 0.2 mil.
- Bonus: 136*Health. If the challenge is very bad, this could be worth much more, but in a usual old guy challenge, the marginal health point may be worth about 5k. Therefore value of health effect: 0.78 mil.

This makes one bottle worth about 2.2 mil when no special health need is present. No more CLXII will be created, and it is the first spirit in the game, from the year 1600. Since about 1615, a large part of our game enjoyment has been the sourcing the best consumables and enjoying them in the atmosphere of indulgent pleasure (Health Challenge module started).

.... or perhaps not that much  Undecided The characters in the lower levels eat their veggies obediently every day, but that is not so fun, really.

The higher level ones have all the goodies in their cellars but get so little feedback on the consumption that they almost feel bad upon finishing off a nice bottle of cognac - certainly not the way things are supposed to be  Grin

All the effects have variety_bonus, causing the single bottle consumption per item per year to be counted 400% of its base value, towards all the Health, Culture and Wisdom.

Free tips:
- Health bomb is a strategy aiming to skip several levels of healthchallenge_remaining at one go. This is sometimes useful and is usually done with VEG, MEAT, FOIE or midprice drinks.
- Wines mature to be much better; entry level wine can be Health: 3 (or even 2) - after as little as 37 years, a completely ordinary young wine W1603 is at Health: 9 and CUL: 2, making it 10 times more valuable easily.
- Substances are not bad as they are "free health" (not consuming drinks quota), usually with good variety bonuses.
- 15 (!) items give effect in all 3 categories, and they are expensive, but do the numbers - 400% is also a good bonus.

Overall Game Scoring, Ranks and Levels system

When moving on to the more scripted gameplay for larger audiences, getting the score tracks more defined is important.

The scoring is planned to be from 1-20 with "1" as the lowest level possible (achievable even with zero effort) and "20" being the highest.

The char level is already in 1-20, and no major changes are planned there.

The wisdom and culture are both in 1-20, so will continue. It is still a little bit unknown how the split of WIS+CUL of the dead characters will become part of the char_highscore and whether it will continue as clan_current_items.

The CKIP will have a 9-level system, scaled to the 1-20 for ease. CKIP will determine the levels independently. They are be demoted if qualifications are no longer fulfilled.

Admins and gamemasters will be graded according to their experience and authority to the 1-20 scale. Past contributions to development can also raise the level. The level is not directly correlated to admin permissions level. Most admins have more system permissions than what they need for jobs that they usually do or even are comfortable doing.


Therefore, there is a 1-20 graded scale for each of the major success factors of the game:

1. Playing the game, ingame success
 - CUL
 - WIS
2. Design and development of the game, GM/adminwork
3. Marketing the game by gaining more players and deposits.

You see "poor marketing strategy", I see a great opportunity for you:

1. Buy Monero at prices depressed by the current "poor marketing"
2. Improve the marketing to merely average (should be easy!)
3. Profit

Monero does not have a premine kitty that could be used to incentivise marketing. In this, it resembles Bitcoin, the only successful cryptocurrency in existence so far.

If you are interested in a more active marketing, Crypto Kingdom is in the works of setting up an Incentive Plan: CKIP(TM). That will allow your marketing activities to support CK and, by extension, Monero, and you also get paid for what you contribute!

This was held, the time of course was January 19th, 1639  Grin

The forces occupied Ironlock without issues and HH The Duke of North Face reinstated as Earl of Ironlock.

The problems ensued when his regiment was sent deep into Polonia in search and destroy mission against Prince Boguslaw. The increasing hostility of the local peasants did not stop the advance, but when we had already turned back, the large army sent all the way from the King of Polonia intercepted us and forced surrender. All the men, officers and CO Marquess of Grass were taken POW, losses were 7 troops. The weapons and horses were probably lost. This one is pending negotiations in the kingdom level. Despite having lived as neighbors for ever, we have not so far had diplomatic relations with the Crown of Polonia.

Also it was found out that to the south from Plath, a well organised county, lead by a Prince-Bishop, is found. Our forces turned back without provoking hostilities.

With Polonia first time showing some teeth, it is possible that our border there will soon find its natural course (barring war). With Sweden, there remains a host of open claims but they are not a pressing concern due to alliance. The border against Rossiya is only established in the OldDuchy, otherwise it remains much unclear. The borders of Grass and WhiteCross and what to find behind them, remain undiscovered.

Next Event Solver will be held in summer 1641, to pacify the coronation year.
