I have no complaints and no gripes with how the coin is being developed. I think it is the right way to develop a coin that is privacy and security orientated. I think my post might have had a bit of an anti-Monero tone to it and I didn't mean for it to - I think I was just launching off onto a mini rant about useability and not taking the wider context - but fundamentally, I think Monero is heading in the absolute right direction for what it was designed to achieve.

Don't worry, I didn't take it as being negative at all:) I'm a massive, massive advocate of "form over function" (or, maybe more specifically, "simple and elegant over complex and customisable"), and Monero will get that.

perhaps i'm not alone, but your posts alone fluffypony make me love this coin even more - i can tell you are truly vested in it. as am i, financially, but hey, that's always a gamble. i won't complain unless you run off like the USB coin guy, otherwise i see great things ahead for you and XMR. Just read your post.

We don't know a lot other people in crypto currency world, we even don't know who is Satoshi but he some-how forced people to believe in Bitcoin and nowadays Bitcoin is liquid.

As well as there is no point to trust them they've done nothing wrong to make us not believe in their words.
They are the founders of CryptoNote tech and maybe in token of respect we'd better to listen to their words?!

Lol. did you even read the btc whitepaper?... obviously not! Cheesy

Both MoneroPool.com and extremehash.com don't seem to be paying out for many hours, is something going on with Monero in general?
lol.. No. The difficulty has risen so everyone's payout is smaller!  I can still pull in .5 msr on on on 1 R9 270! Cheesy

Meaning - the more profitable a coin becomes to mine , the higher the hashrate and thus the difficulty.   That is whats' going on here.

why the hell is it crashing?

This is just how markets work. a bunch of hype about the coin, along with the new NY rules about crypto-currency, and you see a major influx of btc volume. thus the price rises. at the end of the day, everyone goes, ok, why again? and many panic-sell/dump etc...

This is not a coin for the pump and dumpers (well ok maybe short term) but i'm hodling and winning no matter how low it should go for a while, i really dont think many get the tech behind this coin, as it's NOT a btc clone like most others.

It is not indeed, and I would not call it a crash, these ups and down are very healthy for Monero, everything is looking positive on short and long-term, be glad we are here early

+1 for someone who get's it! Cheesy

This coin has a lot of potential. in fact. so much  that some random soul gave me 7.2 XMR today , for no reason i can discern other than posting yesterdays news hype link here about the coin... so thanks again, anon contrib(s)! Smiley

Why is the coin suddenly rebounding back today ?

Because of the news. Didn't you read the news? The market only ever moves on the news.

We made a decision a while back not to fiddle with mediawiki's ACLs and try and control who can edit things.

Instead, the knowledge base will be published to github, and anyone can edit it by submitting a PR (pull request). This will make editing the content super easy, and since PRs are public and easy to look at, if we reject any it will be easy to see why.

+1

I like the github approach :-)

lol... funny how xmr is on the upswing since the latest missives, despite the lack of overall progress.. not sure what to make of it.. should probably link to a funny beavis/butthead meme or something , but too tired. Wink [Edit - i am hodling, not a troll!]

Just have a customer of one of my rentals complaining.

He rented for 1.2BTC and only has 14 ICB in return, and burned all the hashrate and time on those 0 reward blocks. Lolz.

You see what i mean people? Mine with your mind, read the topic and conditions, and never be left with an empty bag!
ROFL

love it when people educate others. or rather, try, but then again, more get rich quick morons pile on all the time and whine about lost btc... duh!

Wallet disabled on Bittrex.  WTF is this??

Welcome to the scam of the year nominated coin

it's *not* disabled - go to the direct market link you can do whatever you want. not sure why they fuck people over like that

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-ICB

the wallet is disabled it says so right on the wallets screen you cannot deposit or withdraw any ICB from bittrex you can only buy

ah, my bad sorry, the other guy stated they (bittrex) have to update some code for that part - i thought you meant it was all disabled, but i do hate how they do that - they should at least leave the f'in link to it intact! Sorry! Sad

any ideas on how to sync the damn windows wallet? keeps failing, can't connect, i've even followed about 3 different things on how to fix it pages ago to no avail. thanks.
very simple dude.

Step 1. Download wallet
Step 2. Extract wallet
Step 3. Open extracted file
Step 4. check the network permission boxes leave open for a while
Step 5. leave open for a while
Step 6. DONE Grin

yeah that's what i first did, but it kept failing in the debug log. i guess i'll delete it all and retry. /not too many fucks a-given here, sorry & thanks! Smiley

Edit - thanks again, that worked, a clean start i mean.
