I should have done it back then, it's fucking disgusting seriously.
8742  Other / Politics & Society / I think I'm actually going to boycott mainstream televised news on: December 17, 2012, 04:30:01 PM
If that's the right term for it anyway, I've just switched it off, I'm done, I never thought I could find something that could seriously upset me enough that I would just switch it all off and just listen to music or silence for awhile. While Newtown was a terrible tragedy, it wasn't the killing that did it for me even though that was bad, it was the way a bunch of absolute opportunistic cunts immediately descended on the whole situation. Using it as an excuse to call for whatever bullshit legislation they could come up with, the mainstream television also paraded it around like crazy even more than usual and I think that's when I finally snapped on it, there was a fucking massacre of children and all every one of them did was. Well I'm still searching for the word for it because it was just so disgusting.

So in short:

. I'm sick of politicians appearing after every disaster promising everything will be okay and only acting civil to their fellow human beings in those situations

. I'm tired of the vulture lobby groups who use every single horror story to push their agenda rather than find the real cause like a doctor/scientist would and fix the problems

. I'm fed up with the mainstream news on television taking advantage of all of these situations and parading it around when there are other issues they can talk about or report on, why is it that they can find information on murders in very local areas and never report on anything else?

So yeah, I'm going to ditch mainstream news in favour of written articles because then I don't have to listen to the news reporters being loud, obnoxious and insensitive about everything horrible in the world, something interesting has happened as well, I actually feel a hell of a lot calmer and more relaxed now, maybe you guys should try it and see what happens? Bet you'll feel a lot better about what's going on in the world, I think the only thing I'm going to do now is take to what Jon Stewart does and just laugh at the media for the way they do all this, he has the right idea.

Holy cow that was fast and I'm not doing that Third Way, precisely making this thread so I don't have to think about that shit.

Found a very interesting post on this site about all the things being ignored by mainstream media, not a surprise at all, I think I will no longer watch the news but just read news articles every now and then because after the Newtown business I've actually become pretty sick of the opportunistic slime balls on this planet.

I like pretty lights and christmas trees, the end.
8751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would an average person actually choose to use Bitcoin? on: December 17, 2012, 09:42:18 AM
To me, the biggest reason is simply because it's a powerful hedge against inflation.

+1

I can see myself buying gold and silver with it eventually for my work because otherwise in the pound it will be too expensive, I need to find someone who can cut it into sheets for me though.

People are just far too easy to push over the edge these days aren't they?
8753  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I am all in favor of banning all guns... on: December 16, 2012, 11:42:50 PM
Honestly, even if we banned guns, criminals are still going to get them, the only thing that is going to stop crime is vigilance.

Keep your shitty politics out of my troll thread!

rabble rabble rabble rabble! Cheesy

That better? Tongue

Well that's something at least but now I'm going to amaze you with physics, while I can agree that sports martial arts aren't necessarily very good for self-defence ( they have fundamental weaknesses because of the rules involved in that sort of thing ) the traditional stuff is fantastic, especially if you can get a good teacher who knows what they're talking about. I've been practising Shotokan for 8 years now and every time I go it is like sitting in a physics lesson that's happening in front of your eyes but of course I can't understand the formulae and stuff like what are posted in this article.

...only because sword fights look way more epic.

That is all. Grin

Spending too much time in the Men's steam room again huh?

No, just missing going to my Kendo/Iado classes.

Those are not sword fights. Those are dancing, with swords.

Are you one of these people morons who thinks that they are invincible and despite anyone who actually has knowledge of fighting could knock seven bells out of you they couldn't do a thing?

And lol Rassah, at least you're not taking the gun debate seriously, I've given up trying to look at either side now.
8756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need better promotional videos and material!! [Brainstorming] on: December 16, 2012, 02:07:38 PM
I'd rather Bitcoin be promoted on its factual merits rather than bullshit marketing.
8757  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Aggressive Moderation on: December 16, 2012, 12:29:34 PM
I think another good thing the ignore list has done for new people at least is immediately let them able to tell who the asshats are, you'll notice that certain user names have their ignore button a different colour, as it changes more and more people are ignoring them, it often doesn't take much to understand why after you speak with them for a bit Cheesy
8758  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CT School Shooter Killer Link To LIBOR SCANDAL on: December 16, 2012, 11:33:54 AM
There is a reason for everything then, maybe the stupid gun debate people will finally shut up, glad to see the police are doing their jobs, well if what was posted on that site was true anyway.
8759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Danish Member of Parliament on Bitcoin: "Exciting!" on: December 16, 2012, 10:14:24 AM
Very nice, all we need is one or two Bitcoins to freely accept them and it will be a success I think.
8760  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Do you have a college degree? on: December 16, 2012, 09:30:23 AM
I dunno what to call my thing but all I got was an A Level Diploma in games design, no university degree ( Yes I know what you're all probably going to say ) and I promise you it has done absolutely fuck all for my future prospects and it certainly didn't help in helping me get a job in the games industry because developers know it's a load of bullshit. Currently I'm learning how to make proper Jewellery from just a sheet of metal and to draw and that's massively increased my prospects of actually selling something tangible that people want which is far better than a job because I don't have to rely on anyone to do that.

If you do go for a degree or something like it the only advice I can offer you since I avoid the whole system now is that you should go for something real that lets you produce something, don't go for these crappy history degrees and things like that because while they may teach 'things' they won't get you a job and that's details that the people trying to get you onto these places will conveniently leave out. Pick a market, pick a specific job, maybe even do research into getting exactly what you need and work around that, don't fall for all the bullshit pie in the sky lying that got me into the mess I'm in now, I'm only just managing to repair the damage done to my education and it's because I worked my arse off.
