lol at poll results. I think people say 20+ because they want it to be 20+ not because they think it will actually be 20+

Seen the news lately?

For the trolling, most of us I know use the ignore list as for going off topic, really? I can't understand people who get so obsessive about such things.

Hope not, wouldn't put it past our fearless leaders to chose to go down with a sinking ship though :/

Go down with the ship? They'll almost certainly take the money and run, just like the bankers have, either that or they'll find some other way to worm out of it, but I think they're running out of options.

That's bad news for you lot because if the Red Alert series has taught us anything then someone is going to use it to take over the world *shifty eyes*.

The illusion is that this digital currency can allow any “two willing parties to transact directly with each other without the need for a trusted third party”; however while based on the collective control of computers, a “chain of digital signatures” and a “trusted central authority” to keep the monetary system from relying on printed fiat.

Yeah, definitely lacks basic knowledge.

Why are people so fucking against people defending themselves? Doesn't it occur to you that any other rational human being out there would never use a gun on another human being unless they had no choice? Or that there are gun owners out there who don't make the news and do a perfectly acceptable job carrying armed weaponry around without causing any trouble whatsoever. I think I am actually tired of this argument, while I disagree with Obama on many of his policies it will be interesting to see his conclusion on guns if we finally see one, it may actually be one of those moments where we see some amazing rationale from political leaders like with hurricane Katrina.

I'm done arguing with people who want to take away the only defence most people have against armed psychopaths and will resort to any stupid retort just to get their way no matter what evidence is presented to them, all I want to see is innocent people protected, my final point will simply be Switzerland, there is a country that actually has mandatory training for firearms which is something I would highly recommend if you intend to have firearms for everyone to prevent any stupid accidents from happening. In fact in the very unlikely case that a political official in the USA is reading this, I seriously recommend that you talk about it and see if something can be done to educate people properly on firearms because I cannot believe the ignorance surrounding them.

When I was very young, I can't remember when exactly this was, I went to Ireland and there was a fair where some army recruiters for the Irish Army showed up and they were showing people how guns worked, now from what I could remember these looked like fully functional and working guns, so why were there no shootings or accidents there? Oh that's right, they were being handled by professional and well trained people who made sure the safeties were on and that no one could muck about with them and end up hurt.

I'm sorry, but the only thing I can think of right now is how sad this whole situation is and how only America has the ability to show off just how utterly stupid and senseless human beings can be to each other, you don't see this happening so often in other countries.

While it's only Wikipedia I can't be bothered doing more research any more to prove how stupid you all are so here's a page on Switzerland that has some crime statistics involving shootings:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland

Quote
Police statistics for the year 2006[12] records 34 killings or attempted killings involving firearms, compared to 69 cases involving bladed weapons and 16 cases of unarmed assault. Cases of assault resulting in bodily harm numbered 89 (firearms) and 526 (bladed weapons). As of 2007, Switzerland had a population of about 7,600,000. This would put the rate of killings or attempted killings with firearms at about one for every quarter million residents yearly. This represents a decline of aggravated assaults involving firearms since the early 1990s. The majority of gun crimes involving domestic violence are perpetrated with army ordnance weapons, while the majority of gun crime outside the domestic sphere involves illegally held firearms.[13]

Self-defense is a basic human right.  I detest the people who deprived the children in Connecticut of their basic human rights.

It's not just self-defense that our governments take away from children, children can't vote either, they also can't get jobs.

Are you lot the same people who keep going on about how the UK army for example wasn't properly equipped to go into Iraq and Afghanistan while completely ignoring the fact that these are people that are going out into another country specifically to kill other people?

You act as if this was a preventable accident, that's what despairs me the most about the gun control, use police for everything line of thinking. Admittedly I haven't looked into what happened with 9/11 because it's filled with conspiracy theories but if it was reported they used box cutters and not guns surely that should tell you that gun control doesn't prevent crime? In the end criminals are just going to switch to something else to use. In the UK we have a huge problem with knife crime now because they are far easier to get hold of than guns, one of my oldest friends was threatened by a guy with a knife once when she was with a boyfriend, you really should come out to these gun control zones we have and realise what a mess it is still.

The only people laws affect are law abiding people and that is a fact that's why the governments brand people that don't obey their laws criminals or terrorists.

Bartering causes problems where people don't want certain items for their items, that's why currencies were invented in the first place, it wasn't meant for them to prop up economies or control how entire countries grew and developed.
8770  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Want to pay NO income tax? Cut welfare. on: December 15, 2012, 02:49:22 PM
Without welfare, students will have to work there way through uni, sick people will die or depend on charity donations, single mothers and the poor will end up homeless and on the street, crime will increase, and the gap between the rich and poor will become even greater.

Where's your evidence for all of these statements? The gap between the rich and poor is already horribly big.

I am an unemployed person of lower than average intelligence.
I managed to buy bitcoins after 20ms research.

I, too, am stupid.

You guys should look at my exam results and yet I somehow managed to understand the concept of money printing and can read stocks.... No really, I have no idea how the fuck I'm able to do that O_O

Did you even bother contacting them to let them know what's going on? Considering the amount of stuff they have your order could have easily gotten lost somehow. Or are you just acting like an Amazon reviewer and not realising what you've just said?
8773  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gun free zone on: December 15, 2012, 11:43:32 AM
What I think should be done is more checks on the health of people and their families if anyone wants to buy a gun, if they have a known history of mental problems etc. or one of their family members dones then someone should come along and advise them properly on how to make sure the wrong people get their hands on guns. People like to ignore this, but I've noticed a lot of American families who have guns in the household have really stupid ways of keeping them, I see examples where they've left guns on the table or even worse given a person with a known mental disorder a bloody shotgun for their birthday with it loaded. There was that one where a boys mother decided to kill himself with a gun and rather than notice the fact that she gave him the damn gun with the ammo and all, rather than realise what she'd done she decided to blame the game he played, Everquest, of all the stupid things instead.

If it were up to me I'd put the people who leave guns lying around in their houses without being in a locker etc. in jail for extreme negligence, if I could get away with calling it stupidity I would, the problem is though law makers are never going to do this because they're afraid of losing votes from people who want the freedom to be colossal morons in their homes.

You best example of a gun free zone is an airplane? Really? This will make the Americans on this board ballistic but then again everything does 9/11 happened because a bunch of crazed terrorists seized planes and crashed them into the twin towers, even your 'best' example had a serious flaw with a real life example that is conveniently ignored.

Do you use capital punishment for firearm possession? Perhaps your laws are not strict enough.

Suggesting that people be hung or shot for firearm possession is precisely why I have you on my ignore list, go away.

Gold and Silver have value, I think I'll stick with something that can't melt, but on that note, you could sell fake snow you know if you had any artistic skills, I actually saw some brilliant fake Christmas trees that looked really real in a garden centre we visited.

If you want to stop violent crime, just summarily execute anyone found in possession of arms.

Does this include soldiers and active duty policemen?

Soldiers and active duty policeman cane and execute. Civilians get caned and executed. That is called law and order.

I bet you have lots of fun if you ever try to protest against a war or something else horrible the government have put forward without anyone's consent.

tl;dr people are too concerns on over exaggerating gun control and aren't paying attention to the 20 children which are dead.

I'm not ignoring the 20 children dead, the fact is though that both sides are cunts because they fail to ignore the facts, I can't really empathize with gun control people though because even if they got what they wanted and I mean everything, as in a full on ban, you still get people being killed and gunned down because the police will never be able to respond quickly enough and you'd still need a phone to contact them. The chance of survival is a lot higher if the self-defence laws are on your side and you don't have to worry about being put in jail if you decide to stop them, believe me, I live in the UK and I hear stories constantly about people being murdered, more than I'd like because the media are murder happy these days, gun control will not and never make a difference.

At least gun nuts are fairly realistic in there views on crime, we have some of the tightest gun control laws here in the UK and we still get shooters from time to time who lose it and kill people, the gun control people can't say we need to tighten the laws any further because they have been tightened so badly that no one who just wants to defend themselves can own a gun. What amazes me though is that we're still allowed to own the components for explosives and chemical weapons so maybe I should go ahead and keep studying about that so I can defend myself against a crazy person with a bottle of alcohol and a lighter but I still wouldn't fancy my chances even if eh only had a pistol.
