The league's biggest disappointment so far is Leicester City with 19th place. What happened to this team this season? Have they sold some players? Last year the Champions League also missed out, but in itself they had a reasonable to good season last season. And if they have a less season, they should still be able to finish in the top 10 teams. The competition is still long. I still expect something from Newcastle United. They can of course strike again in January with new purchases during the transfer period, but I don't know who all wants to play. They might be able to use Ronaldo well and pay his salary easily too. My favorite for the title is Man City. I think Liverpool are going to have a disappointing season.

October 16 is finally the day, then we get the match between Real Madrid and Barcelona. You would say that Real Madrid are favorites for the performances of the past few seasons, but Barcelona seem to have got into form just in time this season. Last season they made bigger strides in the last half. And last season Barcelona also beat Real Madrid in Bernabeu. That was 0-4 then, I'm pretty sure we're not going to experience that result again. You should also not be surprised if it is a big win for Madrid. Barcelona hasn't really been tested yet this season. The only test came in the CL, when they lost to Bayern Munich but where they shouldn't have lost. I am curious how Madrid's defense will solve the Lewandowsky problem.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 06, 2022, 08:54:47 PM
Perhaps the tennis world expects a bit too much from Alcaraz at the moment. Some have (rightly) stated that it is just a child, and in fact it is. There is a lot of pressure on him and he now starts every tournament as a favorite. He didn't seem to be able to handle that well this week. Sure, he's a better player than Goffin, but every human being suffers from pressure at certain times in the sports world. I think this was incidental and he'll just be there the next tournament. I'm also curious how long he can keep the number 1 position in the world. I am looking forward to the Djokovic - Alcaraz match which will undoubtedly take place soon.

About Napoli, they could very well end up at the top of the group. We can also include the mediocre form of Liverpool. I don't think Napoli has been as good in the last 10 years as this season. They make a big impression and have played Ajax snatches on all parts of the turf. Liverpool also lost hard. In principle, Ajax is out with Rangers, but Liverpool can also lose points. It could be that it is still between Ajax and Rangers, but then Ajax has to win everything, also when away in Naples. Haaland really makes a great impression. He doesn't have great technique, but he's always in the right place.

R Madrid v Osasuna is about to kick off now this another tough team meeting together to play. I believe R Madrid will be the leading side.
My prediction Rmadrid 3 v 1 Osasuna.
Already started.

I think you have wrong information in front of you. This match was already played on Sunday evening and ended in a 1-1 draw. 3-1 could be a logical result in advance. I thought Real Madrid owed this draw to themselves. They should have been leading 2-0 or 3-0 by now. They also missed a penalty 10 minutes before time. An interesting detail is that the penalty taker Benzema did manage to score a goal 2 minutes later, but did so in an offside position. Now Barcelona is the leader again, they have only conceded 1 goal in the entire competition.
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 04, 2022, 09:11:28 PM
That was an unexpected defeat for Alcaraz against the Belgian Goffin. Yet this is not a normal player. He has fallen far in the world rankings, but he used to be a regular top 10 player and you can still see that in certain matches. Alcaraz will be disappointed that he is already out, but in principle Gravel is also the foundation of the Spaniard. It was all the more clever that he recently won the US open. I wonder how long it will be before Nadal also quits Federer. It would be a nice gesture to Federer if Nadal would also stop playing tennis this year. But maybe Nadal is still too good to quit, and too young.

What United showed was nothing like it. You can lose to City, that's no shame. It is comical that Ten Hag had won the prize for manager of the month because they managed to win a few games in a row. You could actually see it more as a kind of incentive prize. Actually United haven't played a decent game, the games they won weren't great either. I also find it strange that McGuire still plays at United. He gets a lot of criticism in all the weeks that he plays at United. Liverpool would still go up in the rankings, but United can lose to anyone with this style of play, and that has also proven to be the case in the first 2 rounds of play.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 04, 2022, 09:06:59 PM
Tonight Bayern Munich won big again (in the CL but still). Last time they also won their match easily. We may have to put off the bad start and assume that they are back in the form of the Bayern as we know it. Incidentally, it is a bad start for Bayern, but not a dramatic one. Maybe we shouldn't overdo it. It's a shame for Dortmund that they can't take advantage of it and lose points themselves every time. This is not only due to the departure of Haaland, of course. I think Bayern Munich will win the league that Dortmund will be 2nd.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 04, 2022, 09:05:01 PM
I think in group A it is clear who will advance to the next round. I actually couldn't believe it when I saw that Ajax had lost 1-6 to Napoli at home. Another important win for Inter Milan over Barcelona. 1-0 is minimal, but a win is a win. That Bayern Munich won 5-0 against Plzen will not have surprised anyone. I will give Barcelona chances to continue in this group, especially because they can still play at home against Bayern and Inter. We assume that Plzen does not play a significant role. It would be a major disappointment if Barcelona were knocked out again in the group stage.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Casino Licenses on: October 02, 2022, 08:16:36 PM
The licenses are in fact only intended for a casino to be able to offer it legally. Other than that, you really have nothing to do with it. There are a few organizations that want to offer a certain amount of help, but if you really have a complaint then you will be turned off again. As a player you should not expect anything from the license commissions, they are only there to increase their own bank account. In any case, you have some sort of starting point if your gambling site has a license, that is the advantage. Yet that says nothing about the reputation of a gambling site.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: October 02, 2022, 08:14:47 PM
Fortunately, things are starting to come together before we start with the World Cup. After all, it is already October and we will start in November. I wonder to what extent players are already working on that with their heads. They really shouldn't, because champions league matches have to be played first. That should be the focus first, but that is not always easy. France will not care much about all the criticism surrounding the performance, we also saw that in 2018 how it ended at the World Cup. But a good preparation also seems better to me. Incidentally, it is always a rumble at France at every tournament, for years.

Finally no Verstappen as the winner. But guess what, another Red Bull as the winner. I don't think it matters much for the final standings and statistics either, Leclerc might have liked to win this race but his car is just not good enough yet. Leclerc is certainly not a worse rider than Perez. I think Verstappen is simply the best driver. Strange that Hamilton has been invisible all season. He still has motivation, but Mercedes will have to give him another car. I don't see a switch to another team happening anytime soon, but then things will have to be different next season of course.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 02, 2022, 08:10:25 PM
Real Madrid took the lead a few minutes before half-time. We are only in the 50th minute, but I think we can say that this game is now over. I don't expect much more from Osasuna. Scoring 1 goal is going to be a big job. Madrid will now be able to score a few more goals for the goal difference. And also not unimportant, they take the lead again from Barcelona, which was only allowed to be at the top for a short time. I think it will be for a few more weeks that both teams will win everything, but soon we will have the game against each other. How would that go?
894  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betting Exchanges Like Betfair, exbit etc on: October 01, 2022, 09:06:28 PM
Not many exchanges have been added lately. I know that many people need an exchange that is based on crypto, but it is not that easy. Then you could use an API from betfair and then cast it in a white label construction and then without value of course. I think it is possible, but we have seen few successful betting exchanges focused on crypto. Fairlay was also quite successful for a while, but I have to say that I don't like the interface and it is also very unclear. I hope that one day we will see a kind of similar layout from Betfair or another provider but for crypto market.

Atletico Madrid actually still has a very strong team on paper. The results have only been a bit disappointing in recent years. You can never really compete for the title because Real Madrid has been supreme in recent years. They still have a strange formula with Griezman who they always drop in after 60 minutes, in connection with a contract between Barcelona and Real Madrid, Barcelona has done very bad business in recent years with buying and selling. A small plus is that Frenkie de Jong has remained, but he also seems to have no base anymore. Just a little patience and then we get the first classic of the season.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 01, 2022, 03:35:07 PM
A very easy win for Bayern Munich. It was also to be expected that sooner or later they would recover with a good victory. But this doesn't say everything of course, it was also a home game. Bayen Munchen are favorites in all games, but the problem with this team is that they can easily slip against less strong teams. In the coming weeks we're going to see good Bayern at the moment. I also don't know how players are going to play with a view to the World Cup, nobody wants to miss that of course and I think most Bayern players will participate in the World Cup anyway. The chance of injuries is considerable and then the World Cup is over.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 01, 2022, 02:51:30 PM
Still a great win for Arsenal. Tottenham Hotspurs are just not the best in England. I hope Arsenal can continue this trend and continue to play at the top. They have been completely out of the picture at the top for a number of years, especially because Liverpool and Manchester City have become so good. This was the first hurdle for Arsenal. united to play against City. Then we'll see where United really stand. They have so far had no major opponents except for Liverpool, who were also in a form slump at the time. Last season they were outplayed at home without a chance. That won't happen again now, will it?
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 30, 2022, 09:18:31 PM
It wouldn't do your reputation any good. I think it can do more damage than people can imagine. And I don't just mean the comments and esteemed students, I'm also talking about the management of the school. If they find out that a professor/teacher is gambling frequently, they also know that this takes a lot of time and that in turn can lead to problems with concentration and as a result of which one is no longer able to to function properly. Maybe far fetched, but you could get a warning or in some cases even a dismissal. These are things that certainly happen in the business world, and not just among teachers. The track record of a teacher is of course also taken into account.

Placing a bet on Barcelona for 1.37 could be a good bet. But would Barcelona be consistent enough to win this again? So far they have played well and won a lot, but this team is a young and in some places inexperienced team, sooner or later you will have to deal with a breakdown. Mallorca does not have a good team. If everything goes as it should go then I suspect Barcelona will win this 1-3 for example. But 1.37 is also a low odds to bet a lot of money on it. Perhaps it is more interesting to bet on the over or under total number of goals.

Speaking of past weaknesses of casinos, we could go back statistically very, very far. And if we go back a while, card counting in Blackjack was a major weakness, and there was little they could do about it at the time. Until the card machines came into play, then it was solved immediately. Or better said, over for the card counters. Does anyone actually have any idea how much money a casino would have lost because of that in certain situations? And what are the options now if people are trying to get an advantage with blackjack?
